Charity Awareness Post 2020!

Hi there,
I would like to raise some awareness and post links to charities which I have donated to and I love their work so here it goes.

Miscarriage Association
There's a word besides Lockdown and Covid 19, I have heard more of this year than any other and that is Miscarriage and there are so many stories of so many going through it and I can tell you now, it's not nice, and it's not easy, and it's got no full recovery from just like any loss you have to go through in life. - https://www.miscarriageassociation.org.uk/about-us/the-charity/

Beluga Sanctuary
I LOVED watching John Bishop help save and relocate the two Beluga Whales on ITV earlier this year, Little Grey and Little White are so beautiful and cute and amazing, and I just want the best for them, and I am still following their story and if you want to help or know more go to the link - https://belugasanctuary.sealifetrust.org/en/

Dementia UK
Dementia is a horrible disease, I donated to them earlier this year when I lost my nan as I felt such a strong urge to donate to many charities actually, it's horrible to lose anyone and to know we have organizations and people out there looking for cures is amazing, but they need our help and donations to continue, so I mention them and link them here for this reason - https://www.dementiauk.org/

Marie Curie
Is a charity whom's services have helped my family a lot in the care and attention of my Dementia stricken Nana and the care of her in her last years of life so of course a massive shoutout and thanks to them and please give them anything you can or just learn more about their amazing work! - https://www.mariecurie.org.uk/

RNLI Lifeboats
Without the RNLI so many lives would be lost at sea every year, these brave volunteers are always on hand to help and save others and I support the Quay West crew and the service as a whole - https://rnli.org/what-we-do/lifeboats-and-stations/our-lifeboat-fleet

Sea Shephard
Are protectors of our oceans from illegal activities and they have done some amazing work - https://www.seashepherd.org.uk/

Raf Museum
I respect and love the RAF and their museum is amazing I shopped at their online shop to support them and I wanted to do this in memory of my late Grandfather who worked for RAF so go support and grab something lovely here - https://www.rafmuseumshop.com/

There are indeed so many great and amazing charities out there but I only chose to list and name those who have meant a lot to me this year so please do check them out, tell them you got referred to from me and let's just be excellent to each other and hope 2021 is a great year.

Remembering Jay & Bub Jones

This post is dedicated to my children who I lost due to miscarriage. It's hard to talk about and to have gone through and I miss them dearly as do their mother.

We lost Baby Jay in January 2020.

Our Expected Bump
4:25am 6/1/20
You're so little and you won't be able to hear this yet,
You won't be able to read or understand any of this either,
But you are so loved, you are so little, so smart, so amazing,
You are being brought up into a big, scary, cold, world,
It's an exciting time to be alive none the less,
You will have two incredible people in your life that are and will be doing everything for you,
You may grow to hate, you will grow to love, listen well and listen close,
We're going to have so much fun, you will be so supported and cared about,
Much more than me and you're mother ever were, we are always here,
We love you little one, we love you squishy, we love you bumpy,
As much as you are expected, you also expect us,
We love you bump, we'll do all that's in our power,
Warmth, Food, Drink, Clothes and a roof await you,
you will be protected against the odds and scary,
Be safe, be careful, shine like a star that you are, love hard, be stronger, be healthy,
Laugh like hell and give the world a heaven and give the bad a hell.
We love you and can't wait to see you
Love DAD & MAM!
Due Date Bump
17th August 2020
We knew you oh so briefly,
We love you so very deeply,
We carry you with us forever,
We adore you for all of life,
We will remember and love you for the rest of our lives,
Every second we carried you was breathtaking,
Mammy was jittery, Daddy was ball of excitement,
The sun shines for you today,
The rain pours for us as we miss your due time,
Rainbows will light the dark cloud we are under,
You will guide us and help us to the right way,
You will always be here,
And so will we,
Baby Jones,
We love you, We see you, We remember you, We love you

Today Is Your Day
Today is the day you should have showed your face to the world,
Today is the day where your first cry would have been heard,
Today is the day where it would have marked the start of many days for years to come,
Today is the day, i would have held you close and called your name, little one,
Today is the day where mam would have been in pain and tears but happy to welcome you to the world,
Today is the day you would have taken your first breaths and ate your first meal,
Today should have been the day we take you home in our arms,
Today is the day in which we mourn your departure,
Today is the day we honour your memory and think of you more than ever,
Today is the day we send our love, give our thanks, and pray to you,
Today is the day where it's raining but there's a rainbow too,
Today is the day where the rainbow is shining, sparkling, bright just like you,
Today is the day we look up towards the stars and see a bright spark marking where you are,
Today would have been yours to hold, Today should have been ours,
Today is your day.

We also lost another baby in September 2021
(during this time I had covid so my gf had to go through it on her own as I had to isolate for 14 days),
We called them Bub and they would have been born 20/4/22.

This post is for them.

Taylor Swift Folklore Album Thoughts

So last week or on Friday the 24th July 2020 to be more precise, Taylor Swift came from nowhere and RKO'D the swiftie fandom and mainstream charts out of nowhere, even her label were hit with a surprise that she dropped a new album.

This came from nowhere but also came from everywhere! She never sits still for much that girl and as my loving girlfriend said "when she posted nothing going on, i knew she was up to something!" so yeah apparently in lockdown Taylor decided to up and drop an album on us from the stir crazy lockdown world quarantine everyone has been under.

This album to date as of writing has sold a whopping 1.3million copies and most fans aint getting the physical copies until another week! Taylor Swift becomes the first artist ever to debut at No. 1 on both the Hot100 and Billboard200 in the same week thanks to Folklore, Bon Iver gets their first Hot100 top 10, and more moves on the billboard charts this week.

It is Taylor's first alternative album! Which when i heard of it very much peaked my interests more than your standard "Taylor got a new album out" news does. Like don't get me wrong we all know i am a closet swiftie by now with all my lists and thoughts on Taylor but you know as a lover of good music she can and has done some bangers right and i am always in new things from her because she is quite talented.

So going into this album i thought; Hmm very fairy-tale like stuff with the woods and the fonts on the covers and also how Cardigan sneak peak pictures were looking very much like a Peter Pan fairy-tale vibes going on. Then when i watched Cardigan i thought the song and video was lovely and very fairy tale like with how she was travelling through a box of light going to a different place and so on. Also as we know Folklore the word means; the traditional beliefs, customs, and stories of a community, passed through the generations by word of mouth.

So now here we are 16 tracks and 1 bonus song all to devour, oh jesus this is going to be quite a task already. So to start i will be giving first thoughts on the album via my first listen through and i will be diving into the lyrics as we go to try and connect more and see more about the songs.

So DJ, SPIN THAT SHIT!
FOLKLORE
By Taylor Swift

1: The One - First listen i don't quite know what to make of this. Some sadness and humour in here but is it written from her perspective or someone else's. Nice little harmony with the oo's and it does flow lovely.

2: Cardigan - It's a lovely flowing soft song. In a Live Q&A before the music video for “Cardigan” was released, Taylor explained, “The song is about a lost romance and why young love is often fixed so permanently within our memories. Why it leaves such an indelible mark.” Taylor also elaborated in an interview with BBC Radio 1: “This is a song that’s about long lost love, and looking back on it and how special it made you feel,” she said, adding, “all the good things it made you feel, all the pain that it made you feel.” Maybe this song describes how comfy and safe she feels in her current relationship.

3: The Last Great American Dynasty - It sounds like the old Taylor answered the phone on this one. Why does this sound like it's about some olden time popular fancy celeb couple. Yeah i quite like this, it stands out to me thus far more so than what i have heard at the moment but again this is the first listen through.

4: Exile - Ok started and it swelled me up a bit and tbh it sounds like it should be Bon's song more than Taylor's on this collab. I like this, it makes me emotional jesus. This is the best song on here right now as i am writing as i near the end of this track, i mean it's making me swell up and tear up bro! This is one i'd pay to see live in person! This is a convo between ill fated lovers perhaps.

5: My Tears Ricochet - Oh the chorus is very cleverly put together let me just say that. So far this album is like a RED 2 in how it's tone is coming across as, and by that i mean Red is a downer of an album overall but it's good don't get me wrong too. Very clever song it's like cornelia street and i think he knows but darker and more emotional? Does that make any sense? Apparently this is the only song on the album she wrote herself but also the first she wrote.

6; Mirrorball - I like the instrumentals of this, it's very chill and reminds me of a song from the life is strange games, maybe this one should be in a life is strange 3. So yeah the vibes give me LIS vibes so for that i like this. Defo one i will revisit. There's some possible throwbacks to her career or rather era's with how this song goes maybe she is reflecting it all.

7; Seven - Hmm another one which would suit a life is strange game if i am honest. Another one i will have to revisit as i can feel it could be sort of about her not understanding an issue as a child about one of her friends maybe? Dessner told Vulture: "It's kind of looking back at childhood and those childhood feelings, recounting memories and memorialising them, It has one of the most important lines on the record: 'And just like a folk song, our love will be passed on.' That's what this album is doing. It's passing down. It's memorialising love, childhood, and memories. It's a folkloric way of processing."

8: August - Fearless Taylor vibes i am getting from this, it's nice don't get me wrong but it's not really grabbing me so much but i have only heard this song twice as of writing, so if i appreciate it later on i will let you know. This is possibly about someone young just running about after a man and she ends up broken hearted as the man is not hers so its story of a love triangle.

9: This Is Me Trying - Nice chill reflection song a very vulnerable song, this should be track 5 as i think it fits well of the legendary track five status. At least i am trying to piece together my thoughts, feelings on all this. It's quite hard at times as you can see because some songs are not so standout or like beneficial and very meaningful to me if it makes sense like i don't fully grasp what others maybe from some of these songs but you know can't say there's a song i don't like thus far.

10: Illicit Affairs - Uhhh i dont quite know what to say it was a troublesome song i guess but what else can you say about a song that's about cheating or a cheater you know? In the third verse, Swift appears to reference her 2014 single"Out of the Woods." The "don't call me kid, don't call me baby" i do like.

11; Invisible String - A nice piece of music here, it's a nice little piece to her lover and when this title was revealed i had major your name vibes which is an anime film you reading this should watch! Swift appears to underscore the idea that she and Alwyn have been unconsciously connected throughout their lives. The third verse could contain a nod to Swift's ex-boyfriend, Joe Jonas, who infamously dumped Swift over the phone and recently welcomed his first child with wife Sophie Turner: "Cold was the steel of my axe to grind / For the boys who broke my heart / Now I send their babies presents." So isn't that funny. This is a lovely piece of music my friends, it's quite romantic and chill.

12: Mad Woman - Well if i am not mistaken this is quite a revenge song haha. Maybe like she's calling out the emotions of female rage which might be seen as a taboo or joke of sorts to talk about openly so similar to in how in "The Man" she was calling out the industry on sexism but this is more about being angry as a woman i mean just a theory and maybe another theory is that this is just how people have seen her towards her old enemy Kanye and how maybe her silent anger is something very scary and intimidating to some to hear or see?

13: Epiphany - Ooh a moody start here. An emotional song here about loss and there's a hospital theme so maybe it's about giving thanks and praise to current healthcare workers whilst also talking about her grandfather who fought in the war. I find this beautiful also and through my second listen as i read and understand the lyrics more and open my ears more and let the music into my soul i am actually getting tears in my eyes, i can connect and i can see this song, i feel it.

14: Betty - Classic Taylor Swift self titled debut album but with maturity and wisdom of the modern Taylor is what this song is. Something bad happened to this "Betty" and the speaker is looking for forgiveness.

15: Peace - Hmm i am not quite sure what to make of this either on first listen but now time to listen again! Swift is talking about giving her partner everything but struggling with making peace maybe since she say's "All these people think love's for show / But I would die for you in secret" and how she says "No, i could never give you peace." Maybe the "No i could never give you peace." is about her popularity as she is always talked about and taken photos off so that lavish livestyle is too much for a partner to fully take? Swift also nods to her two most infamous feuds, singing, "But there's robbers to the east, clowns to the west." The "robbers" are most likely Borchetta and Braun, who own the rights to her first six albums, while the "clowns" seem to refer to West and Kardashian West.

16: Hoax - Another vulnerable song here which i don't fully know what to say about on first listen. Apparently this song was late added to the album. I got some imagery from Rep and Red in some lines here maybe throwbacks to them. She sings about missing New York here about maybe some regret to move perhaps too. On my second listen i get it more on what's being said and she is feeling and means and i do like this but for me there's other songs here i connect more with or i like more of, so no offence to the songs which don't do much for me but it is important to know that not every single song will hit home runs or connect to everyone, sometimes its not about the connection of music but the expression of the lyrics and pain and artistry to create and put a piece of yourself into words, into music even.

Bonus Track!
The Lakes
Oh my god its so lush and romantic i love it!

Overall it's a good album, well written, smart and clever lyrical play, instrumental is classic Taylor with a twist and this of course is different for her. This album is soft, vulnerable, angry, resentful, depressing and hopeful i would say. This is one which fans will say this is a stand out from all the rest of her works and you could put it easily between Fearless & Red if you would like. Kudos Taylor, well done.

Well my dear readers thanks for visiting and reading as always and thanks for sharing too!

Taylor Swift Track 5's RANKED?!

So not too long ago, well a year ago really, Tay-Tay's song The Archer came out. Taylor said it was track 5 of her latest album Lover, and i was like "hmm okay" whilst my gf was like "omg this gona be soooo good" as apparently to my unknowing knowledge that Taylor's track fives are notoriously known for being her best or most powerful?

So i'm gonna have a refresh of all her track fives and just write a bit about them and rank them effectively and of course as ever, if i am wrong my misses will kill me. So i am aware of the great immense pressure i am under hehe.

This list was a long time coming and did get left sadly in the bleachers but here we are picking it back up and making the cut!

Let's pull on the bow and launch ourselves like an arrow because we are all archers launching ourselves into the unknown. Life pulls us back but launches us and lands us in unexpected places.

7: White Horse
This track won little Tay a grammy so it's something special as you can hear it's a raw emotional song and was more mature for her. I am not sure what else to say about this song it is good.

6: Dear John
Noted this is one of Taylor's most emotional songs and is about a short lived toxic relationship that ended and near the end Taylor finally culminates with one of her most empowering lyrics: “But I took your matches before fire could catch me, So don’t look now, I’m shining like fireworks over your sad, empty town.”.

5: The Archer
It's not one of my personal faves of hers but i can see and appreciate the vulnerability in Swift coming to terms with herself and accepting herself in her own skin as she talks about her insecurities and at the end seems to signal the love of loving someone for everything they are with faults and all.

4: All Too Well
So now we are embarking on the more acoustic classic Taylor. She is an artist in story telling and how she can paint pictures from her words and lyrics, i particularly love the instrumental here in this song.

3: Cold As You
Hard to believe Taylor was in highschool when she wrote this right? I love the way this song really captures her vocal power and this is a good song and it's the one which started the tradition of the legendary track 5's in the fandom.

2: Delicate
I am putting this here in the list mostly because i am reminded of my girlfriend first introducing me to this song and her saying "this song is for you" because its how she felt about me along with another song but there's plenty songs she will happily say are aimed at me and you know its how she feels for me in what the lyrics are conveying. It's a pretty chill song to listen to driving west on 20 in a convertible car with the roof down.

1: All You Had To Do Was Stay
A very upbeat track compared to other songs on this list as it lacks that emotional vulnerability of other songs so it is different to the rest but it's still good and catchy for sure as Taylor takes a strong stance of defiance in this track 5. During the making of this list, i had shuffled the order so many times. Most if not all of these songs i think we must be in the right head space to listen to and fully take on board as you will see with this one as i am in a very happy, good mood and this one just makes me move and sing a lot at this moment in time.

So there we go all of Tay's current track fives listened to, written about and ranked so tell me how did i do?

Which is your fave? Let me know and as ever any list suggestions message me anytime @1stmetalgod okay.

Stay Shiny!

Grey Skies Will Fade Away - Poem

Although the skies are grey,
And you're mind is unclear,
Know that i will sit beside you,
And it will all be okay my dear,

I know its tough right now,
And emotions are high,
But rest easy knowing i am by your side,
The rain will ease away,
And We will welcome a rainbow to stay,

Brighter days are coming,
For as long as you are still smiling,
The world is beautiful and full of vibrant colours,
With you here, this world will never get duller,

Thank you for being the light in the dark,
Thank you for holding onto me during stormy seas,
Thank you for being the sense and calm in my madness,
Thank you for all you're beautiful words and emotions,
Thank you for all the love you give me,
Thank you for not giving up and staying here,

Don't give up, Stand unbroken,
Continue to grow and heal and continue evolving,
For the hurt and anger and depression and anxiety you live with,
I am sorry for those who brought the worst to you and tried to destroy you,
You are in control and all is well now, no need to be afraid,
No harm will ever come to you, No harm should have ever came to you,

We can't rewind time, but if we could we would,
We would meet sooner, laugh harder,
Never stop smiling, Live together longer,
We would do as we are doing now, live and conquer,
Us against the world and not at each other,

Thank you for being the best team mate i could ever wish for,
Thank you for warming my heart up,
Thank you for making me smile and laugh so hard,
Thank you for making so many beautiful memories with me,
Thank you for helping me grow and learn,
Thank you for loving and holding me,
Thank you for staying with me,

I know how excited and happy and joyous i get at times,
Be it about seeing you again, Or hearing or seeing something amazing,
You continue to inspire and motivate me and make me sane,
I know some days are harder than others,
But nothing truly beats laying with you under the covers,
Stay strong my sunflower, for you will bloom again soon,
It's not easy living in our heads,
At least we have each other.

Missing You Is Like Missing A Limb

In a world where lockdown runs wild,
And Quarantine reigns supreme,
We must not be lost, or apart, nor blind,
Where our fave musicians are all live on stream,
We can only blame that dreaded Covid-19,

We are forced apart, for safety,
For family, for the world,
All we have is our word,
I miss my lady, my baby,

Missing you is like missing a limb,
I awake expecting to see you next to me,
I wake thinking this is the day things won't be grim,
It's easy to escape this reality,
We have to dream, we will meet again,

Our world feels like a movie,
Surreal, uneasy, peaceful, eerie,
Some are trying to not to listen, taking all for free,
When they hear daily to stay home, we are living in history,
This has not happened before, it probably won't happen again in our lifetime,
It's okay to lose your cool and to whine,

Missing you is like missing a limb,
Feels like you have always been here,
I am lost now without you near,
It feels like i am missing skin,
You are always on my mind,
Sleep well, take care, be kind,

It's hard and we are all suffering,
We are in different ways handling,
Stress, anxiety, depression runs amok,
So we have to stay home and read, lets pick a book,
Let's continue to reach out, to talk, to support and love from afar,
For the time will come one day soon where we will hold eachother and smile with tears,
For this lockdown and quarantine will not last for years,

Missing you is like missing a limb,
I move, i turn, i think, i hold, i don't feel the same,
I think of you more than ever, 24/7,
Hearing from you is like getting a little piece of heaven,
I'm sorry it's unpleasant, i'm sorry it's difficult,
The pain i feel, is so surreal, The world has me so bummed,
I can't wait for the day our hands to touch again,
May our souls shine bright, until then.

Slipknot - A write up

So myself and my beautiful Girlfriend watched the BBC documentary on Slipknot all out life and she had many questions so i have decided to compile a bunch of information for her and anyone else to understand Slipknot more and i have provided info via my memory and via the wiki on them to compile a quite in-depth look at the biggest metal band going strong today.

Slipknot is an American nu-metal band from Des Moines, Iowa. The band was founded in 1995 by percussionist Shawn Crahan, drummer Joey Jordison and bassist Paul Gray. After several lineup changes in its early years, the band settled on nine members for more than a decade: Crahan, Jordison, Gray, Craig Jones, Mick Thomson, Corey Taylor, Sid Wilson, Chris Fehn, and Jim Root. Gray died on May 24, 2010, and was replaced during 2011–2014 by guitarist Donnie Steele. Jordison was dismissed from the band on December 12, 2013. Steele left during the recording sessions for .5: The Gray Chapter. The band found replacements in Alessandro Venturella on bass and Jay Weinberg on drums. After the departure of Jordison, as of December 2013 the only founding member in the current lineup is percussionist Crahan. Fehn was also dismissed from the band in March of 2019 prior to the writing of We Are Not Your Kind. Joey Jordison suggested naming the band Slipknot, after a song they had made on their debut album mate, feed, kill, repeat. Slipknot's fans are called maggots why? Corey and Crahan once said in an interview they were doing a show with a large number of people, and when they looked at the crowd, they looked like writhing maggots jumping around, so they decided to call them that henceforth.
Slipknot 1999
Slipknot 2019

Slipknot is well known for its attention-grabbing image, aggressive style of music, and energetic and chaotic live shows. The band rapidly rose to fame following the release of their eponymous debut album in 1999. The 2001 follow-up album, Iowa, although darker in tone, made the band more popular. After a brief hiatus, Slipknot returned in 2004 with Vol. 3: (The Subliminal Verses), before going on another hiatus and returning in 2008 with its fourth album, All Hope Is Gone, which debuted at number one on the Billboard 200 chart. After another long hiatus, Slipknot released its fifth studio album, .5: The Gray Chapter, in 2014. Their sixth studio album, We Are Not Your Kind, was released on August 9, 2019. The band has sold 30 million records worldwide as of writing. In early 2000, Slipknot was certified platinum; a first for an album released by Roadrunner Records. 2006 saw Slipknot win their first Grammy Award, picking up the Best Metal Performance award for the single "Before I Forget".The single went on to be featured on the set list of Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock. Slipknot's first annual music festival, called Knotfest, was held on August 17, 2012, in Iowa. The festival also debuted a Slipknot museum. "The Negative One" was nominated for the 2014 Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance at the 57th Annual Grammy Awards. Slipknot have been nominated for ten Grammy Awards and have won one.

The band's sound typically features a heavily down-tuned guitar setup, a large percussive section, sampling, keyboards and DJ'ing. Using a variety of vocal styles, the music typically features growled vocals, screaming, backing vocals, as well as melodic singing. The band has continually experimented with its sound. Slipknot's lyrics are generally very aggressive; they sometimes include profanity while exploring themes such as darkness, nihilism, anger, disaffection, love, misanthropy, and psychosis. They often draw upon topics including the music industry, politics, personal strife, and reflection, among others.
The members perform wearing unique, individual facemasks and matching uniforms typically jumpsuits while each member is typically assigned and referred to by number based on their role in the band, although the latter practice has diminished following the death of Paul Gray. The band has said the idea of wearing masks stemmed from a clown mask that Crahan took to rehearsals when the band first started. The concept developed; by late 1997, the band decided every band member would wear a unique mask and matching jumpsuit. Taylor said in 2002, "it's our way of becoming more intimate with the music. It's a way for us to become unconscious of who we are and what we do outside of music. It's a way for us to kind of crawl inside it and be able to use it." The concept of wearing matching jumpsuits has been described as a response to commercialism in the music industry and led to the idea of assigning the band members numerical aliases. According to Taylor, "Originally, we were just going to wear the jumpsuits, we figured we might as well take that further and number ourselves. We were basically saying, 'Hey, we're a product!'".
During their careers, the members of Slipknot have developed their images, updating their uniforms and each member's mask upon the release of each album. Jordison, in an interview in 2004, said the masks are updated to show growth within each individual. Slipknot's members have worn special masks for specific occasions, most notably for the music video and live performances of "Vermilion" in 2004 and 2005 when they wore life masks made from casts of their own faces.  In 2008, the band wore a set of large masks titled "purgatory masks" during photograph shoots before the release of All Hope Is Gone; in the music video for "Psychosocial" they are seen burning them. The band's image has been the subject of much criticism and controversy, with critics generally accusing it of being a sales gimmick. The band's members object to these claims; according to them the masks are used to divert attention from themselves and put it on the music. Several band members have said wearing the masks helps to maintain privacy in their personal lives. During an interview in 2005, percussionist Fehn said the masks were a "blessing" because they meant the members are not recognised in public.

An essential element for the band's image is the Slipknot logo. The nonagram was created by the band's members around the same time the band was founded. The nonagram is arguably the best-known sigil of Slipknot and it represents a 9-point star, a symbol of unity, loyalty, friendship and remembrance. Despite popular belief, the nonagram is not a Satanist symbol and instead represents Slipknot's "battle with the fake world.".

Slipknot's music and image have been the subject of many controversies throughout its career. The lyrical content of some of Slipknot's songs has been linked to several violent and criminal incidents. In 2003, two young killers blamed the lyrics of "Disasterpiece" for their crime. In 2006, the lyrics of "Surfacing" were found at the site of a grave robbery. In 2008, Corey Taylor commented on a slashing incident at a South African school to which Slipknot was linked; he said: "obviously, I'm disturbed by the fact that people were hurt and someone died, as far as my responsibility for that goes, it stops there, because I know our message is actually very positive and there are always going to be mental disorders and people who cause violence for no other reason than the fact that they're fucked up and lost." Also the band has had a notable fued with Mushroomhead and Burger King.
Someone last year compiled a list of words most used in Slipknots song catalogue.

Here is the 10 slipknot songs i utterly loved when i ranked them in 2016 and there's been newer songs since obviously but this is pretty good as it is. So do look this up once you have read all this :) - https://1stmetalgodsblog.blogspot.com/2016/09/top-10-slipknot-songs.html
This has me telling you my interpretations of the songs on the list also. I have compiled what i can at best.

Stay shiny and thanks for reading!
Stay safe during the caronavirus pandemic too people!

Babymetal Cardiff February 20th 2020

Myself and my wonderful beautiful girlfriend went to see Babymetal at Cardiff's great hall on 20th feb 2020!
With support from Creeper who were pretty good but Babymetal were amazing and i'd love to see again they are so cute fun and energetic! Cardiff's the great hall is under some work at the moment which made the queuing in a mess but hey got inside in plenty of time.
The set was short but sweet. I recorded little bits not much as i kept running out of storage :( but what i got was epic!
Thanks for reading and watching the youtube videos. See you again soon and stay shiny!
(a post about the January 30th Five Finger Death Punch concert is still yet to come, just need to sort videos out)

Jonas Brothers - 29th January - Birmingham 2019

Who: Jonas Brothers with support from Livvia, Jordan Mcgraw, Picture This!
Where: Birmingham Arena - 29 January 2019

taken before it got so crowded inside :)
What I wrote on social media: "29th January was a unique new experience in going to a concert with my girlfriend and for first time in BIRMINGHAM. Long day, but it was a good performance and concert from the Jonas Brothers and the support acts. I love my baby and her family so much and I am so thankful and grateful for the opportunity to go to Birmingham with her and share that experience together, much love!"
I attended this concert and it was very unique experience and it was a good concert and a great fun day out and i enjoyed and it. Myself and my girlfriend went to see The Jonas Brothers!
It was the first concert i have seen with my girlfriend and my first pop concert so it was a different unique experience but overall we both enjoyed!!! What was so unique? Besides it being the first concert i attended with my girlfriend and besides it being in a different city and country and besides the audience being different from what i have been used to at metal gigs? Oh hmmm i don't know, i can't quite put my finger on it hahaha. Just kidding of course but all those besides above are what made it so unique and a new experience for me really.

We travelled up to Birmingham and the way back home took ages due to some ridiculous road works and closures but we did it and i went onto another gig the next day!!!

So yes i would see them again with my beautiful Mrs :D
(Yo Jonas's come a bit closer to Wales next time!)

(more on the 30th January 2019 gig soon..)

So thanks for reading and visiting the blog, much love, remember to stay shiny!
SEE YOU SOON!

It's been a year!

It's been a year since I first saw you. It's been a year since I joked at you not lasting in work long. It's been a year since, I laughed at you not being able to do screen checks due to scary films.

It's been a year since I messaged you asking if you could cover my shift for me and I'll cover one of yours for you. 28/9/18 we shift swapped. It's been a year since you said yes.

It's been a year since I asked you how it went. It's been a year since we opened. It's been a year since we talked about life so far and when we was born. It's been a year since I kept asking and wondering when you'd be in and when I'd work with you next.
It's been a year since I held your hand and danced with you and talked about music at that work Xmas doo. It's been a year since new years and the nights and days we constantly spent messaging each other and we haven't stopped, we started 19/12/18 to constantly be in touch with one another.

It's been a year since we first cwtched and snuggled. Its been a year since I told you I fancied you, liked you and more than that. It's been a year baby, where we said to one another, I'd love to spend life with you. It's always and forever that, I will love you.

It's been a year sweetheart and I love you to bits!
