Night Swim - (Film Review) - Yawn Drown

Forced into early retirement by a degenerative illness, former baseball player Ray Waller moves into a new house with his wife and two children. He hopes that the backyard swimming pool will be fun for the kids and provide physical therapy for himself. However, a dark secret from the home’s past soon unleashes a malevolent force that drags the family into the depths of inescapable terror.
Wyatt Russell was great and so was his character. This film is based on a short YouTube film and yet the short film is much better. The imagery and "creature" was scary sure but other than that this was bad. Horrors released in January almost always tend to bomb.

No One Will Save You - Film Review!

Home invasion, plus Alien invasion, plus being alienated by a whole town = this film.
No One Will Save You is alien invasion horror film directed by Brian Duffield and it's lead star Katlin Denver.

Jesus Christ this was terrifying. I was legit scared watching this. My gut was all in a knot from how tense this film is. It's awesome! I loved seeing a scary alien film, the last alien film that scared me was The Fourth Kind.

I thought everything in this film was excellent from directing, music, acting, story. I was gripped and on edge for the entire film. The ending was super weird I didn't get it.

I wish this was released in cinemas and for it to have made big bucks and hopefully been seen by more people. There was 8 lines spoken and yet I still had subtitles on😂

So what did you think of this film or are you yet to see it?

Blue Beetle - Extraterrestrial Blast! (FILM REVIEW)

The ROAD to the DCU (dc's new cinematic universe) STARTS HERE!!!!

So If you are not aware Blue Beetle is the first movie in the long awaited Gunn lead era of Warner Bro's DC universe of cinematic films. Xolo Mariduena stars in the leading role as Jaime Reyes and this is directed by Angel Manuel Soto. Jaime Reyes suddenly finds himself in possession of an ancient relic of alien biotechnology called the Scarab. When the Scarab chooses Jaime to be its symbiotic host, he's bestowed with an incredible suit of armour that's capable of extraordinary and unpredictable powers, forever changing his destiny as he becomes the superhero Blue Beetle.

I thought BB was bloody brilliant, I want more, and I also want to see it again!

Jaíme played by Xolo was absolutely incredible just as I imagined. He was perfectly cast. This film is a great start to the new DC universe of films. The Uncle and Nana were so funny. The villains were a bit meh, but I did like Carapax once we got into his story he was more interesting than the Evil CEO Kord lady.

The fighting scenes were awesome! Music and lighting was so cool and synth-wavey and for me that's always loved. Heart, humour and inspiring superhero film.

There's two after credits and the first is so interesting yet the second is uh weird to say the least, and you don't have to stay for that unless you want to show your love or want to see some more Latino representation. The Latino representations in this film I felt were on point and great to see for a change.

8.5/10

A good time no energy drinks needed.

I was hooked all through the film and I very much enjoyed.

Please go see this film and do not sleep on it!

TMNT: Mutant Mayhem: Turtley Lit! (FILM REVIEW)

It's time once again for the next generation of people to meet these iconic teen heroes from the sewers, yes the team are back together with fresh outfits, designs, voices and stories with Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem!
TMNT: MM is directed by Jeff Rowe and produced by Seth Rogen and stars Jackie Chan, Ice Cube, Paul Rudd, Post Malone, John Cena, Seth Rogen, Giancarlo Espisito, Rose Byrne, Hannibal Buress and Maya Randolph. Oh, but wait that's just the star cast you know, HOWEVER the voices of the Turtles were actually done by teens! Leo - Nicolas Cantu, Raphael - Brady Noon, Michaelangelo - Shamon Brown Jr. & finally Donatello - Micah Abbey.

The story is about how after years of being sheltered from the human world, the Turtle brothers set out to win the hearts of New Yorkers and be accepted as normal teenagers through heroic acts. Their new friend April O’Neil helps them take on a mysterious crime syndicate, but they soon get in over their heads when an army of mutants is unleashed upon them.

This film's animation style is so unique, and it fits it all so well and just saying it now, but I want more of this universe and cast in this turtley awesome series of films. We have a lit soundtrack featuring a lot of classic gangsta rap to some modern and meme songs even haha. The dialect is modern between the Turtles as this is set in modern day New York and of course they are voiced by real life teens, and they all know each other and played off each other so well in the film. I was unsure about this film working when it was all announced but then the trailer hit, and I was sold, I thought it was pretty funny and looked interesting enough for me to take a chance and put doubts aside, and I AM GLAD I DID, THIS FILM IS AWESOME!!!!

Everything in it worked so well, and I was hooked and so impressed, and I was dying with laughter several times. There is a puke joke they spend a bit too much time with that you know will bother some other people too, but that's literally the only negative I have for this film. The after credits made me want the next film there and then because OH MY GOD!

9/10

TMNT: MM is a turtley awesome adventure full of heart and humour with the longing for acceptance in yourself and your talents that will make you have a good time watching with no energy drinks required. The cast and music and fight scenes and animation are all amazing and this needs to be seen by more people.

Please see this instead of The Meg 2!

CREED 3 - AN OSCAR BOXER!

Michael B Jordan take a bow and I will put you forward to win some Oscars because this film DESERVES IT!
Creed 3 is the 9th? Film in the Rocky series but the 3rd instalment in the Creed series. After the events of Creed 2 we are 3 years down the line and Creed has hung up his boots after his wins and injuries to retire happily and spend his life with his family and his daughter. However, 18 years have passed, and an old familiar face has shown up into Adonis's life once again as we enter Jonathan Majors character "Diamond" Damian Anderson. All seems well and good but Dame goes for Creed's throat because Dame wants what he feels he is owed as he was sent to jail and Adonis left him behind. So now Dame forces Creed out of retirement for an epic showdown. Who will win?

First off, the cast was incredible! Soundtrack was great! FIGHT SCENES WERE EPIC ESPECIALLY THE LAST FIGHT!!!!

Michael B. Jordan more than delivered here in his directorial debut! I am excited for what he directs next! The relationship with Dame and Adonis will have people again on the fences as to who to root for as the lines get blurred with all the gripping drama. The family relationship with Creed was sweet and his daughter is so sweet, and she was a brilliant actor, I'm sorry to forget her name, but I am running on adrenaline after this film.

The final fight gave me chills! I heard Michael talk about putting in some knods of dragonball and my hero academia among other animes in this to show homage and what inspires him and OH YES I CAUGHT THOSE REFERENCES STRAIGHT AWAY IN THE FIGHTING!

This is the first film without Rocky in, and it was a shame I felt BUT maybe they will bring him back again in future, and we get a story out of it that keeps Creed going strong! With Rocky missing I was worried that this film would be lacking something, but it wasn't, and it showed Creed and Jordan can stand on their own. The theme of the film was basically about letting go of the past, and it did that and stood tall where other films would have faltered.

I do wish this film was longer, so we could have got more tense build up to Majors V Jordan showdown and I wish the fight was longer BUT I loved this!

I'd say this film deserves an Oscar and Michael deserves some for directing and his performance in this too. Overall a superb film that shows a lot of power on and off camera from Michael B Jordan, with a fabulous supporting cast and a gripping story.

The Whale - Film Review

"I need to know, that I have done one right thing with my life!"
Darren Aronofsky returns with the story of Charlie played by Brendan Fraser who is a reclusive and extremely obese English teacher who hides out in his apartment and eats his way to death. He is desperate to reconnect with his teenage daughter for a last chance at redemption before his time is up. Everyone does such a fantastic job at this film. This is a drama based on a stage play in 2012 by Samuel D. Hunter. This film stars; Brendan Fraser as Charlie, Sadie Sink as Ellie, Hong Chau as Liz & Ty Simpkins as Thomas. Brendan delivers such a strong, powerful and beautiful performance which is hard hitting and emotional, and he deserves all the praise and awards for this role and performance.

This film was just well wow. There was not a dry eye in the cinema for the breathtaking performances from the cast especially Brendan. Give Brendan his Oscar now! Give the man as much love and flowers as possible, what an absolute sweet soul. A true gem of a human. #TheBrenniacance

5 Stars!

What did you think of The Whale? Are you a fan of The Brennaicanse? Let me know :)

Halloween Ends Review - Deflated Finale

I was so excited and hyped for this film for over a year!
Jesus Christ this left me so deflated, disappointed, dissatisfied and depressed.
It's taken me a few hours to come to terms with what I have just seen and here are my entire thoughts on this film and this will contain spoilers.
Basically this is set 4 years after the last film and everyone seems to be moving on, but the town is still feeling the effects of Myers and his evil with people coming out of the woodwork committing horrible crimes. Laurie is trying to move on as is everyone, but it's only for Michael to show up one more time. First let me say the new Blumhouse logo at the start mmm chef's kiss. Also, the title screen was lovely too and interesting with pumpkins breaking through other pumpkins. I've really enjoyed this current H40 timeline Blumhouse has given us well until this one emerged....

I was curious and excited for how this franchise was to meet its end and uhmmm well.....hmmm.....wow that's uh.....that's a bad taste in my mouth. So is this a joke and like the real Halloween Films will release soon? Because uhm......urgh. What?!

If I was in the writers room, I'd like to have seen their reasons for all of this film to be honest. I'll applaud the boldness of them for the new ideas brought into this film BUT they were executed poorly. For me this didn't feel like a Halloween film. Jamie Lee Curtis as her final outing as Laurie Strode was great! The soundtrack in this one was not the best of the trilogy in my opinion. On my first viewing of the film, I couldn't hear much of OST of the Carpenters sound, yes there's moment you hear the themes, but this film is mostly dominated by other third part tracks and very little of the OST I felt. Laurie's theme ends is the best on the soundtrack. Transformation, The Junkyard, The Fight, The Procession, Cherry Blossoms themes are also good. The end song choice with Don't Fear The Reaper was a decent shout. Halloween 78,18 and Kills have such great scores and this one was lacklustre and hardly present but of course I write this after only one viewing of the film, so it can be hard to take in all aspects of a film from one single viewing. Sure in the title sequence the OG, classic, iconic theme was there with added synth and bass as far as my ears could pick up.

I'll give props to the guy who plays Corey too, fair play to that dude.
The final showdown is the best part of this film.

Honestly this film disrespected Michael also for me and considering the past two films and James Jude Courtney's take on The Shape because JJC delivered us a scary older version of The Haddonfield Boogeyman, this film's take with Michael is absolutely shockingly disappointing, he doesn't feel threatening or scary at all, and it's a disservice to the character's legacy. Remember we have had Michael disrespected in past films too, and they were bad and sadly this film for me is going to be in with the bad pile. With how the story goes the kills for me didn't convince me or give me much of a reaction because *SPOILER ALERT* it was not Michael doing those sick kills, but it was a basic copycat killer and for me that's not the same and doesn't have the same weight and doesn't do the same thing for me as it would have if it was actual Michael doing the killing.

There's some lovely Easter eggs in here and references to John Carpenter and also seeing the OG Shape at the Halloween party gave me a big smile because Nick Castle is a legend man! Halloween End's title screen's font and colour scheme is also the same as Halloween 3.

*SPOILER ALERT*
The Hawkins and Strode relationship angle was nice. It was also interesting having other people commit crimes or killings when Michael wasn't around and people still blaming him or his evil which seems to have affected the town like a dark cloud that still lingers over it. The people blaming Laurie was also good I will say because even though we had Laurie be more free and not hung up on survival and hunting down Michael and being the Victor of her survivor's guilt in a way, it was cool to see not everyone has moved and some blame her for atrocities as they are convinced she brought him back to their town, and so she should be blamed for the deaths and injuries from Michael. Social commentary again is "Evil is infectious and people will always want to blame someone else and hate others". I'll be honest here the Evil of Michael's eyes influencing others to go crazy or evil or delve more into their evil sides is great I mean we have seen this happen with Loomis and Dr Seratin and even Jamie Lloyd. Michael is evil pure evil, and he has the blackest eyes, the devil's eyes and of course stating the idea of Michael being that pure evil that, the more he kills, the stronger he gets. You know, yes cool that's true I agree, there's always been so much mystery and supernatural elements with Michael and that's just so fascinating to me so to see him act like a shrivelled old man in Halloween Ends sucked! You know the dude is a fucking monster! He's in his 60s in 2018 and Kills films, and he's shrugging off everything anyone throws at him and that should have stuck, and he should not have gone into hiding for me this is all out of character and does a disservice to Michael Myers "The Shape" character. Yes, the brute strength and appearing he does is here in this film, but we mostly get the copycat Michael getting all the kills in even if the copycat goes against what Michael does as the copycat just goes for revenge kills rather than Michael's "if you're in my way or in my interest I will kill you!". We really should have had these OG characters and characters from the past few films face off with Michael and in my opinion they should have all died by Michael's hands except for Laurie, but I'll get to that in a moment. For the big finale film honestly Michael technically only kills one person, the others he's assisted with. It's a shame "The Shape" we get in this film is not the same monster they set up with the previous two.

*SPOILER ALERT*
OK look this film should have ended with Laurie and Michael taking each other down that was the only fitting way for this to have ended or maybe have a twist where Laurie puts on Michael's mask as Michael is laid out pinned on the floor, and she kills Alison and then goes for Michael. Either way right we definitely should have had a closing shot or after credits aimed at the Mask and having some breathing. No shadow of a doubt we will get a reboot of the series in the next 10 years because Evil never dies and evil always takes on new shapes. 😉

Anyway, a disappointing and deflating finale to Blumhouse 40th anniversary Halloween series.
This will be joining the ranks with the bad Halloween films for me personally.
A sour pumpkin spiced end to the Blumhouse Halloween era.
3/10

THE BATMAN - A Vengeful Review

It's finally time to see The Batman

THIS REVIEW HAS NO SPOILERS!!!!

It's one of my most anticipated films this year and has been for a while. I was sceptical of the casting and the look of the Bat-mobile but once the trailer hit us, I was highly interested and fascinated. The hype for this film has been high and sometimes when a film gets clips put out a few mins long before the film lands in cinemas, it can go one of either good or bad ways especially when a film gets a lot of hype and fortunately it did not go south at all! I am Scott aka 1stmetalgod and welcome to my blog and welcome to my Batman film review.

The Batman takes place in Bruce Wayne's second year as Batman and people are being killed during the week of Halloween and cryptic clues and messages, or more precisely riddles are being left at the scene of each murder. It's up to The Batman to forge new relationships and call upon old friendships, unmask the culprit and bring justice to the abuse of power and corruption that has long plagued the city of Gotham.

This is a comic book movie like no other! The performances from every actor in this film is fantastic. One unnamed character however is easily from the city itself of Gotham, the tone, the lighting, the visuals and overall atmosphere are phenomenal and what we should have always expected for and from a Batman film and also the score by Michael Giacchino is phenomenal and so catchy but each track also has personality hidden in it, take The Batman's theme for example it starts slow, dark, broody, ominous with a little western edge of tolling bells with fantastic slow building string instruments which lulls into the misery and grief that is inside Batman before transitioning back into the world's greatest detective and caped crusader and Gotham's own symbol of hope and fear, Mr. Vengeance himself, BATMAN.

A beautiful score one which leaves with us cinema goers and follows us home. Flawless cinematography of which makes me think this was inspired by The Joker movie's artsy style. Here is a great Batman film in which it captures the detective side and elements of him perfectly and also THE FEAR and mythological presence of the legendary dark knight. This is quite possibly the best portrayal of the comic Batman we have had. This film takes many elements from comics like The Long Halloween, Telltale's Arkham Games, Batman Hush storyline, Arkham Asylum fight scenes, Batman Year One and even like I mentioned already Joker movie just to name a few. Matt Reeves and all the cast and crew have done a fantastic job here!

Gordon and Penguin were great and I cannot wait to see more of them in this universe and how Colin Farrell does with Penguin going forward and I can say the same for Zoe as Catwoman also who was really good. Rob and Zoe's chemistry was great and believable. The Riddler was scary and unnerving. Pat-man himself Rob was really good and even then by saying really good I don't feel like that does it Justice! The one thing I heard from big critics about this film was the fact that "Batman and Bruce feel the exact same broody boy and it's easy to tell it's the same exact person where as it should be not so distinguishable" and I get that absolutely BUT as Bruce remarks in the movie he's been doing this for 2 years and he has become a nocturnal animal and a shut in as Bruce and he puts all of him into Batman more than Bruce, so in all that time over those 2 years it's easy for him to have lost who is who in the inner conflict shuffle of his personality, the boy is tired, beat up, scarred and emotionally drained. I look forward to seeing more of Andy as Alfred too! As much as I love Alfred in general this was more Gordon & Batman which hey, it's still so great!

This is a great standalone movie with high potential for a new massive Batman franchise and I cannot wait for more!

THE BATMAN
10/10
5 STARS!

I got a feeling this could be considered for academy awards and wins some awards especially and watch this space for what's to come next ;)

Jackass Forever - Film Review

Hi, I'm Scotty J and welcome to this film review *cue jackass theme tune*
Ok by now we should all know what Jackass is about and who is in it, HOWEVER...this new instalment of Jackass stars old familiar faces as well as brand new fresh ones and even some star studded guests as it boasts about. Johnny Knoxville, Steve O, Wee Man, Preston Lacy, Ehren McGhehey, Chris Pontius, Dave England are our familiar jackasses returning as ever BUT also we welcome new Jackasses with Rachel, Zach and Poopies.

It's been 11 years since the last Jackass movie which of course was Jackass 3D and the tagline of this new instalment which is seemingly looking like the last is "Some people never learn" and yes it does appear so with some stunts being updated and redone so to speak. This without a doubt is the biggest production they have done with Jackass Forever, the intro and outro of the movie are so simple and over the top yet a whole lot of fun and this movie will make you cringe and tense up as the hits are hard and the risks are big. The cast has a lot of fun despite getting hurt here showing despite their ages that they are still all young at heart.

My favourite part was Silence Of The Lambs because it made me weak with laughter and in pain with how much my ribs and face hurt from laughing so much. The nastiest injury of all time with Jackass and this film is definitely from Johnny's bull stunt in this film.

Jackass Forever is so good and so funny!
It's like a catch up with old friends and just the laughs and mayhem had.
The new cast fit in great.
SHOUTOUT AND THANKS TO THE PRESTON LACY FOR LIKING AND RETWEETING MY TWEET!

I really enjoyed it!

Machine Head - Arrows In Words From The Sky E.P. Review

Machine head are one of my fave bands and I have had the honour of meeting before and they are such lovely tidy down to earth Guys. Their music speaks volumes and dives into so many emotions and feelings and events. I love and appreciate their musical talents so much! So they recently dropped a 3 track e.p. and they have posted sneak peaks into the making of the album and the hype I had was immeasurable and HERE WE ARE!!!!

Detailing the dark place this material came from, frontman Robb Flynn explained to Kerrang magazine: “The lyrics to these songs took to me places inside I didn’t want to go, from the bile and negativity on Rotten, to nothing-will-beat-me-down fury of Become The Firestorm, to the title-track Arrows… being one of the saddest songs I’ve ever written, yet somehow has the power to lift me up out of what was a very dark time in my life. “My hope is that by sharing these dark experiences with the Head Cases of the world, it can save someone else out of that same dark place,” he says.

BECOME THE FIRESTORM - Blast beats in a Machine Head song... honestly didn't expect that. I like it. This song is a whole lotta anger and frustration to me it feels very like reflective of the apocalyptic times of 2020 but that's my take on my feeling for the song.

ROTTEN - This one is going to be BANGIN' live, i swear down this is going to be such a fucking anthem to hear live. It's groovy and chunky as fuck! "I stare into the black, Anxiety attack, My heart is racing as my throat's constricting, With every cut and scrape, My skin it palpitates, Lying awake, I feel the terror grip me" - I love that verse, i really feel it.

ARROWS IN WORDS FROM THE SKY - Lot of emotion here, it's a great little flowing ballad. I really feel this song and connect and sing it alot since the release of the song.

I wish this E.P. was a full album because with material like this, it could be a contender for top tier MH albums. What a fucking 3 track album this is!

I NEED A PHYSICAL RELEASE OF THIS ALBUM!!!!

The Mitchells Vs. The Machines - Film review! - Robotically Pleasing!

Oh my god so, ok this film is so pleasing, charming, warming, energetic, eye catching, entertaining, fun and funny and so self aware. The animation style, actors, music and well I just had such a blast watching this film, it's absolutely brilliant and I already can't wait to see it again and I wish I could watch this on the big screen where it would get the proper treatment it deserves as it's such a big production animated film!

The Plot: A quirky, dysfunctional family's road trip is upended when they find themselves in the middle of the robot apocalypse and suddenly become humanity's unlikeliest last hope.

Funfact: This film was originally named Connected.

Sony's animation studios has done their magic again with the design and animation style very similar to Spiderverse and this film is as good as that!

I really enjoyed it!

Random Ramblin's 38 - The Phoenix Lifestyle

What's up? It's been a while since I have done a RR (random ramblin's) and to be more precise, it's been months?! 5 MONTHS!? OH MAI GAWD I NEED SUM MILK!

What's new?
As you can see my postings have been somewhat irregular? Well the reason why that is as you should know by now is that I have been busy enjoying and living my life with my beautiful woman. She's been my rock since January and hell before that even like but January is the official start. She's been pushing me to do and try new things and I have. I aim to do and make more changes as time passes also but for now it's been all fun and games and laughs and smiles with us and I hope you've been enjoying life too! :)

I have not been writing here so much or on my Word program much at all really these past few months but i have been writing and not a lot is finished nor published yet but soon they will be just be prepared. I have been writing quite a bit in my notebook mind you so just to let you know all is well and things are on hiatus whilst i continue to actually enjoy living my life, which might sound or come across wrong but i feel for the longest time i have not lived and now i am so that's new. I am seeking suggestions for lists and top tens and anything you can shake a stick at so hit me up any time and i might get cracker lacking on the writing.

The reason behind the title is that i feel reborn like my life is not the same as it use to be and i hardly recognise my past life now so here i am risen out of the ashes like a Phoenix and may i burn brightly forever more.

Tv Watch List
The Flash, Izombie (final season), Gotham (final season), Game Of Thrones (final season), Big Bang Theory (final season). A lot of final seasons are going and ending this year. I am going through them slowly and i have been enjoying. Also me and my Mrs been watching dragonball again from the start so it's a hell of an adventure we have on our hands.

John Wick 3 - Holy shit just when you think you have seen it all here comes Baba Yega with annother round of gun-fu lots of gun-fu. Dogs have a lot of bite. Characters and world building is amazing, i thoroughly enjoyed this hard hitting action flick. 8/10

Detective Pikachu - Although amazing in its cgi and visuals the story and characters fall rather flat and you can easily figure out whos bad and good and whats going to happen before it happens in this film so thats a bit disappointing but its humorous and it's largely upheld thanks to Ryan and Justice and their relationship and chemistry and Ryan does practically carry the entire movie i would say with ease but i enjoyed i wish i had this film when i was a kid. 7/10

Games
Spyro 1 is done but 2 and 3 are yet to have been started.
I got life is strange season 2 to begin aswell.

Fortnite as ever changes every season and it always has ups and downs but with a friend or two i still have an immense amount of fun playing it.

I am dying to play MK 11 and A Way Out.

Music
Slipknot are back with a new album coming soon aswell as new song called Unsainted which is a heavy hitter and displays the bands new album sound or a taste of it aswell as revealing the members new masks because here we are in the new era of the Knot. I love it and all out life is also a banger but apparently is not featured on the new album, strange that. Unsainted = 9/10

Serj Godzilla cover song is brilliant 9/10.

Taylor Swift has returned with Me! - A catchy colourful video featuring a brilliant collaboration with Brendan Urie of Panic At The Disco fame. Me = 7/10

US - Movie Review

Get in your jumpsuits and let's tether together because you're about to see double as I review US!
Us is just a tense thriller from the mind of Jordan Peele a very good interesting film with well acted cast, good script, good comedic moments that don't ruin the tone of the film. creepy as fuck music and visuals to boot.

Us tell's the story of a family on vacation accompanied by her husband, son and daughter, Adelaide Wilson returns to the beachfront home where she grew up as a child. Haunted by a traumatic experience from the past, Adelaide grows increasingly concerned that something bad is going to happen. Her worst fears soon become a reality when four masked strangers descend upon the house, forcing the Wilsons into a fight for survival. When the masks come off, the family is horrified to learn that each attacker takes the appearance of one of them. It's a thrilling and tense watch despite it's logistical flaws and predictable outcome.

Peele channels his inner M Knight Shamalan in his new outing simply put. The soundtrack and many moments of the film early on inspire such dread, it gets so tense it's great.

Us was really good, better than get out but equally as confusing and creepy but my god, soundtrack, acting and story are all really good like and for that i gave US.
8/10

"Therefore thus saith the Lord, Behold, I will bring evil upon them, which they shall not be able to escape; and though they shall cry unto me, I will not hearken unto them."

The Predator Film Series RANKED & Reviewed

So I've just arrived home after watching The Predator the sequel in the Predator franchise directed by Shane Black. The trailers made the film out to be trash, i'll be honest i thought this new predator film would bomb, it would suck. I actually enjoyed it to be honest. Although I have some nitpicks i liked it and it was not a letdown after all for me. So stick around for the ultimate hunter!

THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS!

AVP won't be officially on this list since they are considered to be in a universe of their own. Also there was no big mention of them in The Predator so it's not canon. There was a spear with an alien tail attached in the background of one scene which looked like the one from AVP 1 BUT that is all no other mention or weapon in The Predator from the AVP series. AVP is considered a reboot of sorts for both series when it released since it was years since the last instalments in both universes. Don't get me wrong there's some awesome scenes in both films and cool ideas but that's it, not officially apart of the canon universe.

The Predator
The newest instalment is also the funniest and possibly goriest entry despite not being a fully fledged 18 rated film here in the uk like the rest of the series. The game changes in this film with Pred and 2 being the predecessors to this film so it's carrying on that story and not the one from AVP or Predators. This film introduces many new things to the Pred-iverse. Prediverse? Yeah ok that's mine i used it first lol So in this universe we have previously known these intergalactic hunters come to Earth and other planets hunting for sport to see who is worthy and what not but this film basically makes the preds and this film out to be just another general alien invasion/takeover film, they want our planet, which has never been the documented case in the first two pred films of course. The lore was always in pred 1 and 2 they come to hunt to get the thrill of a kill to rank up in their clans and what not and build an impressive trophy collection. Soundtrack in this was very unnoticeable besides the traditional Pred theme but i think it was not used that well here in this film. Characters were great but god damn did some become forgettable and got snuffed out fast near the end of the film. I reacted quite a bit to this film, from being sad about a character death to being shocked at something to being tense to being happy to others. This was the funniest goriest and most heartfelt entry to this series. Seriously it surprised me too! There's some new additions which are weird to the series this film has brought in the Pred Hounds i mean they were tough but they were pretty short lived. The Mega Predator was scary man like that thing was super duper tough but i think there could have been a longer better fight with it. The "Fugitive" Predator was cool and it was very different from any predator we have had before, he (i'm going to say he, fuck it) was very intellectual. All the new tech this film showed off though OMG INSANE!!!! A huge scary highlights are the scenes where we see the Predators eye's how they just open them and they light up so bright and just paints a creepy picture, there's one who has blood leak on his face and we see his head turn and eyes open and i was like "oh jeezus help me" and there was another where one was pretty spider like hangin above eating Prey and then it looks down as a torch shines on its face i was like "O mah lawd" haha. Overall rate it 7/10

Predator 2
Looking back at it this has some cheesy and funny moments of course. Danny Glover playing the hot headed Harrigan is entertaining but him and this film is hard to fill the boots of it's predecessor. The environment has changed but the hunt remains the same. This has some cool and great scenes and lines and it opened up the lore for the preds a lot more. 7/10

Predators
The hunt goes back to the jungle but it's now on an alien planet with people of all races, genders and back grounds are picked up and put on this planet to duke it out with nature, pred dogs, the elements, other people and most importantly PREDATORS! There's a team of Predators here most are bad but there's one good pred in the group who does try helping the humans but fails and we get an Arnie-esque pred one show down with this Beserker Predator who is the ugliest s.o.b we have seen in the series. Some great scenes with great action and character but there's so much untold left to discover from this film that i hope we get some resolution or expansion at some point. 8/10

Predator
Of course the first is the best. This big 80's muscle buffed action piece started the series and still holds up, it has tense and horror moments too which i feel are missing in the series a bit because they have not been done aswell as this one was well the latest installment had 2 cool scary scenes which were cool as shit to have seen but besides that the predator has not been shown off to be a fierce hunter as this one was for some time. In a future predator film we need the horror back and i'd like the mythos and some stories to be wrapped up, hell expand upon them and bring old characters back be a cool trip too. Some iconic lines in this film. Soundtrack is beast from the theme song to the iconic Long Tall Sally being played. 9/10

GET TO THE CHOPPA because that's my list and thats the series ranked and reviewed all done.

Let's hope we get another soon which continues the series and is good aswell.

However I have been emailed back by them a few days ago that I can come down and get a new one for no cost so woo hoo. I'll be back at it. 2 months off going to the gym it's not felt different well besides noticing my progress go back to ground zero but hey I can do it again.

Solo: A Star Wars Movie - Well what a trainwreck two thing's I liked about it really but honestly if Ep 9 sucks I'm done with Star Wars. 3/10

Super Troopers 2 - Well this was alright just not near as good as the first. 5/10

Hereditary - Unsettling and very creepy but the ending was cheap and lame and something we've seen many times it sucked but overall great music, cast and camera trickery. 7/10

A Quiet Place - Silent But Deadly REVIEW (NO SPOILERS!)

SHHHHHHH!
A Quiet Place is a silent horror film directed by John Krasinski, who also stars alongside Emily Blunt in this flick. The plot follows a family of four who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound and silence is the biggest and best character in the film! I will aim to be as spoiler free as I can!
Silence is golden it was atmospheric and so tense, I have never sat through a film and been so tensed up awaiting the creatures to kill someone because of an accidental noise being made, it's insane! Seriously before the film started there was the odd few rustling of crisp's and popcorn and the usual people talking or coughing and when the film started these noises stopped or people were doing it really quietly, it was a first to say the least.

The Abbott family are highly likeable, for once a horror movie with kids in which they were not so annoying and dumb I thought, well besides one or two moments I suppose.
Only back in February I seen trailers for this film and from then I was hooked, I was like "oh my god this looks scary and intense!" I told my friends about it and showed them the trailers to which they also reacted the same and said "WE HAVE TO SEE THIS ON THE BIG SCREEN!" and we did and we all enjoyed it like I said, it's a really good film! Might be worth noting we were all debating how we would all survive if the events of this film happened in real life....answer I think is we would not last long haha.

The film left me wanting more not only knowing more about the creatures but also the world and what happened to the family between these gaps of day's we had for example one minute it was day 89 and the next 400 odd so it's like what the hell went on over the course of the year or so!?
Props to Krasinski though he did a hell of a job with the screenplay, acting and directing this, it's his own masterpiece he has conducted, no other film i have seen in years has made an entire screen shut up soon as the film starts and stay absolutely quiet until the credits roll! A truly inventive, emotional, tense, film! Props to all cast and crew for this I hope it gains a great deal of success.

No there are NO POST CREDITS OR AFTER CREDITS!

8/10!
GO SEE IT BUT BE QUIET!

Let's Celebrate 200 Posts!

WOO HOO! 200 POST'S HAVE BEEN MADE! Let's celebrate by looking back on the past 100 and the most popular ones from last year 2017, hey what about a list a top 10 to go with it? LET'S DO IT!

Also click on the titles to go read that blog post in full! The view count is as of writing 16/1/2018!

Perhaps the most heartfelt superhero genre movie ever made and a hell of a send off for one actors portrayal of a character after 17 years! The story of the animal outcast to the last warrior. For my full review click on the title!

Perhaps one of the most shocking and saddest moments last year is the legendary Undertaker's retirement....HOWEVER he is going to be on RAW 25 on Jan 22nd so i wonder why he will be there and what he will have to say or do. I can not thank the Undertaker enough for his hard work and dedication to the business. He is a hero of mine and has been since i first discovered wrestling when i was merely 6 years old. There will never be another Phenom. Click the title to be taken to my full dedicated post to The Undertaker!

Back in November last year i made it a goal to make it a month to remember after the old ECW ppv i decided to make a month of wrestling related posts and no surprise they were quite popular and this is the first on this list. TNA has had some phenomenal talent over the years and the teams on this list are no joke. For more click the title to be linked to the page in full!

In 2017 i have seen over 40 films in the cinema easily and that's a lot of hours spent on films! So check out this post for the list of my fave top 10 movies i have seen last year!

Here's a film which did not impress me much uh uh uh or however the song goes but anyway Spiderman Homecoming was not the MCU Spiderman film i would have wanted but it was ok. Vulture was brilliant and Tom did his best and the suit was neat and all but did not need all the gadgets put in from Stark. For more click the title!

WOOO! Here's another from my November To Remember month, the best of the best in male superstar wrestling talent are here on this list but who takes the crown of my number 1? Click the title to be linked straight to find out!

Slow, Interesting, Complex, Disturbing & Horrifying, is how i summed up this weird biblical film we received last year and it was even stranger i was the only one in the cinema screen watching it. For more click the title!

Here's my review of the second most controversial game of last year from EA and this review also got published into Gamesmaster Magazine but it was condensed down for the mag, however CLICK the title to be taken to the full review!

Let's get this straight people, THERE ARE NO DIVA'S HERE! Only champions!  At number 2 on my most viewed of the past year is this. This is also the last on this list from my November wrestling month. Come see the toughest women on the planet in one list full of champions, it was a challenging list to make. To see who ranked where click the title to be taken right there!

This one is almost a whole year old and looking back at it, it's very weird as the title would suggest and my best attempt at an Edgar Allan Poe type story/poem what ever you wish to call it. I am really shocked it had this amount of views though where did it all come from? To see the post click the title!

If you wish to see the 100th post celebrating my best posts of 2016 and beyond that well click on the word - HERE!

That is all people, oh also.....THANKS FOR 10K VIEWS! OMG THAT IS INSANE GUYS! Last year i wanted to hit 5k before the year was out and 6 months into the year i did it! You guys i love you all so much thanks for all the support and views, you know i don't blog to get paid, i do it because i enjoy it and it's my passion to write. So again wow thanks everyone, wonder what the rest of the year has in store for us.

JigSAW - SPOILER FREE Review!

"I want to play a game, live or die make your choice!"
So Jigsaw or as i like to type it as JigSAW, as it comes off as loud and scary in my mind but anyway how does this trap work out? Read on and find out!

JigSAW is the 8th film in the SAW franchise and it is fantastic, like so good, better yet guys it is great, frankly a warm welcome return for the series.

Saw is a series which originally spanned to 7 films over the course of 7 years, we had a new Saw film every halloween and this started in 2004 and ended with the final chapter of Saw 7 3D in 2010 and from around 2012 to 2016 we had multiple rumours of "THE GAME IS COMING BACK!" and from around 2015/2016 we had some confirmation of a Saw: Legacy.

Fun fact Saw 7 was originally intended to be a two parter to see the series out but due to budget reasons it was the supposed end at 7.

So how did we get another SAW if Lionsgate seemed to have lost faith in the series after 6 and 7's performance? I have no idea but all i can speculate is that it's the fans doing and maybe they felt like it was right to bring it back because they had solid writing, cast, production, directors and everything else was solid so they decided "fuck it, let's do it!" and here we are!

JigSAW continues the legacy of John Kramer, with a bunch of people being rounded up to play some sadistic games of death, which is a game that has not been seen or played in 10 years. So much to talk about with this film but doing so will spoil it. I thought cast, writing, editing and everything was great, fantastic job by cast and crew and all involved. I will also add the films opens unlike any other saw film which was a shock.

Not only was this movie overall was great, It kept me interested and on the edge of my seat the whole time. The traps were decent as well and i was not really sickened or disgusted by the traps or results of them i did tense up a bit at one or two parts which generally were like "oh fuck me!". It also offered a gripping plot that turned out to be quite confusing at times but the twist's made it feel oh so good. This is what makes such productions worth watching.

Some say "This torture porn film sucks it's out stayed it's welcome" and so on but i solely believe them to be wrong and i suspect they did not enjoy the other films in the series and perhaps that they don't like "torture porn". Saw is a very clever film series with unique deaths. Some also say "it's not scary" but SAW is not about the scares and yes there's a few jump scares as there is in every saw but at it's core SAW films are mainly thriller crime mystery films more than horror, the horror aspect will come from the shock gore and jump scares that normally occur from guys/girls in pig masks jumping out at people or a body falling down and of course not everyone finds that stuff scary but some will.

I would recommend it to everyone who is keen on the Saw films!

Positives:
The film had great twists, inventive traps and made us care about bad people who were gonna get killed. All these make a good saw film and this is what made this one good too!

Negatives:

Only downsides is some bad acting and all the plot holes in the time line of the series for me it is confusing and at this very moment i am trying to work it all out instead of binge watching Stranger Things 2. I do also wish more things was explored and we had just a little bit more time with traps killing people and perhaps longer run time but oh well, if we get another you can guarantee it will fill in gaps and take us down complex lane once again.

JigSAW
7/10

What are your thoughts on the film? Let me know!

Also i made a meme and the writer of Jigsaw seen it liked it and thanked me and replied to me haha it was amazing!

FILM BIT
This is the bit i list what films i have watched this month and say a bit about them and maybe rate them...

Valerian is a pretty good film. The visuals were the best thing about the film. Would have been an epic game if Bioware made it 6/10.

Atomic Blonde is good with amazing action scenes but it's story is ok  and i did think the last 10 mins were not needed but its sexy stylish and i'd give it 8/10. My movie of the month!

The Mummy 2017 this is not how you do a mummy film and kick of a dark universe, i see what they were trying to do but it did not work i think it was ok but nothing that special 4/10.

Pandorum was ok...interesting indeed but just ok 5/10.

The Last Witch hunter is pretty good not going to lie, i did enjoy it 7/10.

iBoy is pretty good 6/10.

Random Ramblin's 32 - Heyeayeayea! What's going on?!

Sup metallic nation? Hope you are doing well!

Been a while since i posted anything here, just wanted to post a bit of an update and stuff as ever that happens in a random ramblin instalment. First off...The world is such a scary place right now. Sending prayers and well wishes to all those affected in #Manchester

Now to talk about things that have gone on this month......

I have been mostly ill this month missing 4 days of work. All due to throat infection. It's delayed me writing and working and gaming and other things. Over it now although i do have some sort of rash on my hands but this could be unrelated anyway that's my main big delay.

Never been a big fan of #SamuraiJack but i am sad to see it end after all these years. It represents the last of the cartoon cartoons ending.

Ghosts are people from a parallel earth and only appear due to a bleeding effect in the universe? This is new theory and it has my attention.

Argh! Just realised i deleted save data for a game i just went back to playing, why me?! This is so annoying! It's ok i'll just get rid of this game bugger it.....
A message to all fame seekers, Get Famous for the Fame not for the Fortune....

2nd of May out of goodness of my heart and kindness of my wallet i ordered myself and my parents their first dominos pizza. They still prefer papa johns lol.

Found out next Predator film has started filming so i am hyped!

I seen my grandfather the other day first time since xmas, was nice to see him as ever, guy's a legend.

Seen Jeff Dunham live in Cardiff. Achmed was the best but i hardly really laughed most of it was just forced laughter from me. I always get let down seeing comedians live the big known ones anyway.

Well another season of the best show on telly has ended. I am sad but it was another great season #TheFlash @TheCW.

Sorted out my nephews Xbox 360 just a case of corrupted data with Minecraft.

Roger Moore has died. R.I.P.

Sports day
First time in years i went with my work and attended their sports day in Birmingham after 4 hours sleep and 5 hours travel and 6 hours of being in the rain playing football we got to Semi finals 4th place out of 17 teams. Good stuff right? I really wanted to win a trophy but hey next year i shall. I got us through the quarter finals in a penalty shootout i saved us, it was and is certainly a highlight. Great day despite the weather.

Film Bit
Green Room - Mad film but i'd only give it an ok score of 5/10.

Batman & Bill Documentary - Really interesting stuff. Never knew Bill Finger did so much for Batman always thought more highly of Bob Kane and now I'm thinking less of Bob. Marc Nobleman is a inspiration to me now. (I CAN'T RATE DOCUMENTARIES SORRY BUT IT WOULD BE HIGH)

Alien Covenant - Really disappointing film. Maybe extended cut will be better. Fassbender is best thing to watch it for. 5/10

Fast 8 - F8 of the furious eh? The fate was that it bored me mostly. I liked the prison fight scene. Never been much of a fan of this series though...

Yu-Gi-Oh!: The Dark Side of Dimensions - It's pretty good but lengthy. 7/10

Digimon Adventure tri. - Chapter 1: Reunion - Great start to a new adventure with the old gang. 8/10

Pirates of the Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales - Was pretty good but mostly ok if this makes sense. I found a lot of it unfunny and predictable. Doubt it's the last pirates film. 6/10

Game Bit
COD Infinite Warfare - Well then that's the end of the campaign to that. I really enjoyed it's campaign. One of the best since black ops 2 I thought.

Smite - I got asked to play it, i had a go and i did not like it.

Mad Max - Bought it two days ago, only played a little bit seems pretty good so far.

Tales from Borderlands - Completed this again, nice to have had it free from ps plus.

WWE Supercard - Currently addicted to this game....

SOUTH PARK FRACTURED BUT WHOLE 17TH OCTOBER
RDR 2 DELAYED TIL 2018

My one wish for #E3 is for @Sony to not bring a new @PlayStation YET! Give it 5 more years!

Music Bit
I find Linkin Park's new album One More Light to be terrible and a lazy attempt at mainstream pop music from them which lacks any energy. It has two songs i like and you are left at points like "Oh this will build up and get better" to find out it does not is a huge disappointment just like finding out this is an album from Linkin Park. Most songs feel like they deserve to be given to other artist's to perform. Not all fans will like it, and also for saying I don't like it and that LP should go back to not selling out and to go make good creative energetic music again has earned me a block and a punch in the mouth from Chester Bennington, so you know he need's to put his ego in check or he will lose more fans, the stupid idiot. Check it out if you want to but you should avoid it to not feel disappointed and if anything just listen to "Good Goodbye" it's the best song on the album. Review over.....not worth rating, it's bad....

LAST BIT
Ok the other day i asked people, if i should make a page dedicated to my writing...i have done it!

If anyone else would like to check it out whilst it's got that new page smell then do so and a LIKE is really appreciated as ever.

Links to DOWNLOAD/READ 4 Ebooks from me are on the page now and it is FREE to do so. View it now!

Thanks for reading as ever, will see you soon :)
