10: Ben 10
"Ben 10" is an animated television series created by the group "Man of Action" and produced by Cartoon Network Studios. The original series premiered in 2005, and since then, the franchise has expanded with various sequels and spin-offs. The "Ben 10" franchise has evolved over the years, with multiple sequels and spin-offs, including "Ben 10: Alien Force," "Ben 10: Ultimate Alien," "Ben 10: Omniverse," and "Ben 10 (2016)." The franchise's continued success reflects its lasting appeal to viewers of all ages.

9: Invincible
The most recent series on my list will be the more adult themed superhero show Invincible. "Invincible" is an animated superhero television series based on the comic book of the same name by writer Robert Kirkman and artist Cory Walker. The show was produced by Simon Racioppa for Amazon Prime Video and premiered in 2021. "Invincible" addresses mature themes, including morality, identity, and the consequences of power. The series delves into darker and more complex aspects of superhero storytelling. "Invincible" stands out for its gripping narrative, well-developed characters, and a willingness to explore the darker aspects of superhero lore. It has been praised for its mature and nuanced approach to the genre, making it a notable addition to the superhero television landscape.

8: Powerpuff Girls
When I was a child other boys would usually look at you weirdly if you watched "a girly" show like Powerpuff Girls, however it was actually excellent and IF those people who looked down on the show bothered to watch an episode they would get a lot more out of it than what they thought. "The Powerpuff Girls" is an animated television series created by animator Craig McCracken. The show premiered on Cartoon Network in 1998 and quickly became a popular and iconic animated series. Bubbles, Blossom and Buttercup help inspire a generation of children with their strong, independent female characters. "The Powerpuff Girls" is celebrated for its humour, unique characters, and its positive representation of strong female protagonists. It remains a cultural touchstone in the world of animated television and has retained its popularity over the years.

7: Teen Titans
T-E-EN T-I-T-ANS TEEN TITANS LETS GO! The show that made me love the young group of superheroes is the Cartoon Network first run of the show. Mature story line and good laughs and memorable moments made this show so good and really put TEEN TITANS ON THE MAP! "Teen Titans" is an animated television series that premiered on Cartoon Network in 2003 and ran for five seasons until 2006. The show was created by Glen Murakami and Sam Register, and it is based on the DC Comics superhero team, the Teen Titans. The series features a memorable soundtrack, including the opening theme "Teen Titans Theme" performed by Puffy AmiYumi. While "Teen Titans" concluded its original run in 2006, it has remained popular through reruns, home media releases, and streaming services. The series is praised for its engaging storytelling, well-developed characters, and unique approach to animated superhero content.

6: X-Men Animated
Without this show, I probably would not have known or heard or cared about the X-men. Awesome metal theme song that was so catchy with its screeching guitar. Memorable characters and moments. The show introduced me to Wolverine, Rogue, Gambit, Cyclops, Jubilee, Magneto, Gambit, Cable, Sentinels, Mutants, Professor X, Jean Gray and so many more! "X-Men: The Animated Series" is an animated television series that originally aired from 1992 to 1997. The show is based on the Marvel Comics superhero team, the X-Men, and it became one of the most beloved and influential animated adaptations of the X-Men franchise. The iconic and memorable opening theme, composed by Ron Wasserman, is one of the most recognized and beloved theme songs in animated television. The show's success led to the creation of various X-Men merchandise, including action figures, comic book adaptations, and video games. "X-Men: The Animated Series" is celebrated for its faithful adaptation of the X-Men comics, its engaging storytelling, and its contribution to the cultural prominence of superhero animation in the 1990s.

5: Superman animated
"Superman: The Animated Series" is an animated television series that aired from 1996 to 2000. Produced by Warner Bros. Animation, the series is part of the DC Animated Universe (DCAU) and serves as a companion to "Batman: The Animated Series." and also the next entry on my list. Tim Daly provides the voice for Superman/Clark Kent, Dana Delany voices Lois Lane, and Clancy Brown voices Lex Luthor. The strong voice cast contributes to the series' quality. The show has the same distinctive look and feel as JLU and Batman Animated Series. The series introduces new characters, including the sympathetic villain Mercy Graves and the superhero Steel (John Henry Irons). The musical score by composer Shirley Walker adds to the epic and emotional tone of the series. "Superman: The Animated Series" is considered a successful and well-received adaptation of the Superman character. It contributed to the enduring popularity of animated superhero shows in the late 20th century.
The series has continued to be appreciated by fans for its faithful representation of Superman, its engaging storytelling, and its contributions to the broader DC Animated Universe.

4: Justice League
Not to be confused with it's sequel JL Unlimited, The series explores the dynamics within the Justice League as these iconic heroes come together to face powerful threats that no single hero could handle alone. The series features a notable voice cast, with Kevin Conroy as Batman, George Newbern as Superman, and Susan Eisenberg as Wonder Woman, among others. Compared to previous animated adaptations, "Justice League" adopts a darker and more mature tone, reflecting the tone of DC Comics in the early 2000s. "Justice League" is considered a landmark animated series that brought together DC's most iconic superheroes. It paved the way for the expansion of the DC Animated Universe with the sequel series "Justice League Unlimited."  After two seasons, the series was rebranded as Justice League Unlimited, a successor series which aired for three seasons. It is the first series in the DC Animated Universe to fully use digital ink and paint, also the first to be produced in widescreen starting in Season 2.

3: Batman Beyond
I was a big fan of this growing up, and I need to rewatch it Terry was such a breath of fresh air to Batman and I need more badly of this show or a live action film or something more to continue or reboot it please. "Batman Beyond" is an animated television series that aired from 1999 to 2001, and it serves as a continuation of the Batman animated series franchise. Created by Bruce Timm, Paul Dini, and Alan Burnett, "Batman Beyond" explores a futuristic Gotham City and introduces a new character taking on the mantle of Batman. The series is set in a future Gotham City, approximately 40 years after the events of "Batman: The Animated Series." Technology has advanced, and the original Batman, Bruce Wayne, is now an elderly man. "Batman Beyond" introduces new villains alongside some familiar faces from Batman's rogues' gallery. The series explores the impact of futuristic technology on crime and vigilantism. Will Friedle voices Terry McGinnis/Batman, and Kevin Conroy reprises his role as the voice of Bruce Wayne/Batman. The continuity in voice casting helps bridge the connection to the previous animated series. "Batman Beyond" received acclaim for its fresh approach to the Batman mythology, blending noir aesthetics with a futuristic setting. The series has maintained its popularity over the years and is considered a standout in the realm of animated superhero storytelling. Happy 25 Years To Batman Beyond!

2: Spider-Man (90s animated series)
Growing up, I was a big fan of Spider-man and the number 1 spot on my list. It's a shame we never had more of this amazing show. The "Spider-Man" animated series from the 1990s is a classic-animated television show based on the Marvel Comics character Spider-Man. It originally aired from 1994 to 1998 and is widely regarded as one of the most beloved and iconic adaptations of Spider-Man in animated form. Unlike some animated series of its time, "Spider-Man" embraced long-form storytelling, with overarching plot lines that extended over multiple episodes. This allowed for more in-depth exploration of characters and story arcs. The series had crossovers with other Marvel characters and storylines, introducing viewers to characters like the X-Men, Iron Man, and The Fantastic Four. The series is well-known for its catchy theme song, composed by Joe Perry of Aerosmith. The theme song is often considered one of the most recognizable and beloved animated series themes. "Spider-Man: The Animated Series" is celebrated for its engaging storytelling, memorable characters, and its ability to capture the essence of Spider-Man's comic book adventures. It remains a nostalgic favourite for fans of both Spider-Man and animated superhero television.

1: Batman The Animated Adventures
OK growing up to no surprises I loved and binged these top 3 but the most I watched and had action figures of was from Batman. "Batman: The Animated Series" is an animated television series that originally aired from 1992 to 1995. It is widely regarded as one of the greatest animated series and one of the best adaptations of the Batman character. Created by Bruce Timm and Eric Radomski, the series is known for its unique visual style, mature storytelling, and iconic voice cast. The series is renowned for its distinctive Art Deco-inspired animation and design, giving Gotham City a timeless and atmospheric look. We had all of Batman's rouge gallery appear, but also we had a brand-new star arrive and breakout from the series one we all know and love named Harley Quinn. This show had a star-studded cast, the iconic Kevin Conroy, the legendary Mark Hamil and Arleen Sorkin. The show won many emmy's. Shirley Walker provided the Danny Elfman inspired soundtrack from the Batman 1989 film. The influence of "Batman: The Animated Series" extends beyond its initial run, with its legacy evident in subsequent Batman adaptations, animated series, and the broader landscape of superhero storytelling. It remains a beloved and influential cornerstone of animated television.

The bang bang gang's leader makes my list after being so entertaining and hard-working, Jay White is one of the best talents on the planet and no doubt in time he will be on the mountain top.

8: Eddie Kingston
Eddie Kingston is finally getting the gold and recognition after all this time, the dude puts on a hell of a performance and makes everything blurred feeling so real. He's a hell of a guy and after winning the ROH world title he is here on the list.

7: Daniel Garcia
The pro wrestler and dragon slayer dances his way onto the list, he's a tough cookie, and he continues to walk the line of sports entertainer and pro wrestler.

6: Christian
Silence for our Father figure is here haaha yes, Christian has certainly made the rounds and improved himself to extraordinary levels this year, all by adopting some young talent with no dads and being the ultimate villain.

5: Samoa Joe
The most dominant ROH tv champ in history is here, I have loved Joe for years and this year he's had a great push and even if it was weird for him to drop his roh title just to fight max one more time, it's also cool because he's a shark in a small tank, and he wants to go eat bigger prey.

4: John Moxley
No list would be complete without the Mox himself, Honestly every top 10 AEW talent list should always include Mox somewhere, he is an absolute unit!

3: Orange Cassidy
The careless fighting champion who is freshly squeezed, he has held the international title twice and defended it for 326 days and that equals over 30 opponents! He has worked effortlessly defending his title and being banged up and then coming back healed after losing his title only to win it back, and he's still defending it as of writing haha.

2: Swerve Strickland
Top rope catch a vibe, because I swerve when I drive! WHO'S HOUSE?! SWERVE'S HOUSE! So his feud's have been incredible and Swerve continues to improve and build and get bigger and bigger with each time he sets foot in any arena. His recent Hangman feud was insane, and their death match was a mega contender for match of the year, there's no way to not have Swerve anywhere else on my list than right here. I can't wait for him to go beef it up with MJF.

1: MJF
He's our Scumbag, and he is number 1 here on my list. What can we say about Max? He's a megastar, hard-working, great moves, stories and promos' that hit out of this world. Top 10 AEW Females 2023

Aew has a stacked roster and I was recently asked about who are my fave female wrestlers in AEW,
So here are my top 10 of this year :)
10: Jade Cargill
The longest reigning TBS champ and also with a long reigning undefeated streak, Jade left AEW earlier this year for new pastures and no doubt she will be an even bigger success.

9: D.M.D. Britt Baker
Of course, I will put Britt on my list, she is an exceptional talent, and although we have seen less of her the past few months, she certainly is a staple in AEW.

8: Taya Valkyrie
Although Taya has been around for years and a fave of mine since appearing in TNA, she has gone to AEW this year and made a nice impact....no pun intended.

7: Skye Blue
A new talent that first emerged full of smiles and with lots of internet love for her *ahem* "asset" but since feuding with Julia Hart she has been getting darker and more violent and rocks a new look at the moment. A great athlete and even more mysterious gimmick.

6: Willow Nightingale
Another relatively new talent, Willow has exploded on the scene with her bold yet friendly nature and loveable smile and personality, I am happy enough to list her here as she has impressed me throughout her time.

5: Saraya
Saraya had an amazing moment this year in AEW ALL IN London unfortunately it was not capitalized up on. She still has it and is a draw.

4: Hikaru Shida
Shida is always a phenomenal talent, and she always deserves to be on any AEW womens list.

3: Kris Statlander
Since returning from injury and beating the undefeated TBS champ, Kris has been on fire and keeps getting better with each defence.

2: Julia Hart
A cheerleader turned into a dark and gothic, mysterious force of nature with The House Of Black. I am happy she won the TBS title recently, she has been built up so well and gets better and better every week. She is also AEW's youngest champion in history at just 22 years old.

1:Toni Storm
It's Toni's world, and we are clearly living in it. The descent into her madness and Hollywood stardom has been incredible, and in a short time she has run up 3 title reigns as AEW women's champ.

That is my list all done, look out for my top 10 tag teams and AEW Male Wrestlers lists, both coming out soon! Thanks for reading and visiting, Stay Shiny!

To not have this in at first place would easily be considered....BREAKING THE LAW!!! WE'RE BREAKING THE WORLD! Kiryu and his brotherly bond with Nishki covering this is just unmatched, and I love the energy in the song given from them and just the song overall.

"Whiplash" was originally a short film, also written and directed by Damien Chazelle. The short film was used to attract investors and secure funding for the feature-length version. "Whiplash" was made on a relatively low budget, but its impact was significant. The film's focus on music and the intense student-teacher dynamic resonated with audiences and critics.

Spider-Man: Across The Spiderverse
"Spider-Verse" employed a unique animation style that combined traditional 2D animation with computer-generated imagery (CGI), resulting in a visually stunning and dynamic look.

Scott Pilgrim Vs The World
The film's pacing is intentionally fast, with rapid editing and snappy dialogue. It mirrors the frenetic pace of the graphic novels and adds to the film's overall energy.

The Wolf Of Wall Street
The film holds the record for the most uses of the F-word in a mainstream, non-documentary film. It uses the word over 500 times.

Joker
Joaquin Phoenix prepared extensively for his role as Arthur Fleck, the man who becomes the Joker. He lost a significant amount of weight to portray the character's emaciated appearance and even kept a journal in character throughout the filming process to explore his character's psyche.

Baby Driver
Edgar Wright had the idea for "Baby Driver" over two decades before making the film. He first pitched the idea in the 1990s but was only able to bring it to fruition in 2017.

My Top 10 Highest Rated Films - 90's Edition

Hello there, So I thought I would do something different and interesting today and for the next few blog posts. I will be covering my top 10 films of different decades. This is written as of 9/11/2023, so I could update in the future but who knows. To make things fun and interesting, I will try to post a random fact about the film which you may not know. We all will know why I will love these films and I don't want to repeat myself saying the same sorta things over and over so random fact would be more fun and interesting, is my thought process.

I have lots of 5 star films in many decades BUT I will limit these posts to 1 per franchise rule. I am taking my rankings from the 5 star system of LETTERBOXD. Buckle up as it's time to smell that teen spirit and go to the raving 90s!

The Mummy
"The Mummy" marked Brendan Fraser's breakthrough role, leading to his status as an action-adventure star in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

The Mask
Jim Carrey's character, Stanley Ipkiss, wears a green mask. Due to the green colour of the mask, a blue mask was used during filming to allow for better special effects.

Starship Troopers
The film's mobile infantry suits were so heavy that the actors needed assistance to stand up after falling down while wearing them. They weighed around 40 pounds each.

Home Alone 2
The cameo appearance of Donald Trump in the film was due to the fact that the Plaza Hotel, where the scene was shot, was owned by Trump at the time.

Terminator 2
"Terminator 2" was the most expensive film ever made at the time of its release. The budget was approximately $100 million, a significant amount in the early 1990s.

My Top 10 Highest Rated Films - 80's Edition

Hello there, So I thought I would do something different and interesting today and for the next few blog posts. I will be covering my top 10 films of different decades. This is written as of 9/11/2023, so I could update in the future but who knows. I have lots of 5 star films in many decades BUT I will limit these posts to 1 per franchise rule.

To make things fun and interesting, I will try to post a random fact about the film which you may not know. We all will know why I will love these films and I don't want to repeat myself saying the same sorta things over and over so random fact would be more fun and interesting, is my thought process.

I am taking my rankings from the 5 star system of LETTERBOXD. Buckle up for a ride down sunny film lane and this time get your neons on as we go to the 1980's!

ROBOCOP
Peter Weller, who played the titular character, had to endure long hours in the RoboCop suit, which was extremely uncomfortable and caused him to lose three pounds a day from sweating.

PREDATOR
The original design for the Predator's face was quite different from the one in the final film. Jean-Claude Van Damme was initially cast as the Predator, but his design didn't work out, leading to the iconic creature we know today.

GREMLINS
"Gremlins" was originally conceived as a much darker and scarier film. However, it was later developed as a horror-comedy, striking a balance between humour and horror.

SEE NO EVIL, HEAR NO EVIL
"See No Evil, Hear No Evil" is loosely based on the novel "Two for the Seesaw" by William Gibson, but it takes a comedic and farcical approach to the material.

BILL & TED'S EXCELLENT ADVENTURE
The roles of Bill and Ted were originally offered to other actors, including Pauly Shore and Sean Penn. However, Keanu Reeves and Alex Winter ultimately landed the roles and became synonymous with the characters. The phone booth was originally supposed to be a van, but they opted for a Dr Who nod.

ROCKY IV
The training montage featuring Sylvester Stallone as Rocky and Dolph Lundgren as Ivan Drago is famous. The sequence was filmed in Wyoming, and Stallone had to be airlifted to a hospital after being punched in the chest by Lundgren to maintain authenticity in the fight scenes.

INDIANA JONES: RAIDERS OF THE LOST ARK
In the famous boulder scene, Harrison Ford outran a real boulder, which was a fibreglass prop. The stunt was extremely dangerous, but it resulted in an iconic film moment.

BEETLEJUICE
The title character, Beetlejuice, was originally envisioned as a winged, reptilian demon. However, the final design for the character was more whimsical and unique.

STAR WARS: THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK
The big reveal of Darth Vader being Luke Skywalker's father was kept a well-guarded secret. Mark Hamill, who played Luke, was only informed of this twist moments before filming the scene to preserve the surprise.

BACK TO THE FUTURE
The original choice to play Marty McFly was Eric Stoltz. He filmed several scenes but was later replaced by Michael J. Fox, leading to the iconic casting that we know today.

All of these films are iconic and classic, and I have seen so many times. Do you love or like any of these films? Comment and let me know and hit me up on letterboxd @Scotty2Jonesy.

My Top 10 Highest Rated Films - 70's Edition

Hello there, So I thought I would do something different and interesting today and for the next few blog posts. I will be covering my top 10 films of different decades. This is written as of 9/11/2023, so I could update in the future but who knows.

I have lots of 5 star films in many decades BUT I will limit these posts to 1 per franchise rule. I am taking my rankings from the 5 star system of LETTERBOXD. To make things fun and interesting, I will try to post a random fact about the film which you may not know. We all will know why I will love these films and I don't want to repeat myself saying the same sorta things over and over so random fact would be more fun and interesting, is my thought process.

Strap in for a ride back to the soulful 70s!

The Exorcist
"The Exorcist" is known for its shocking scenes, but did you know that the sound of Regan's neck cracking during her infamous head-spinning scene was created by twisting a leather wallet inside an old leather jacket?

Jaws
While the animatronic shark used in "Jaws" was named Bruce by the production crew, it often malfunctioned during filming, leading to Spielberg creatively using suspenseful music and camera angles to build tension without showing the shark.

Blazing Saddles
"Blazing Saddles" features an iconic scene where cowboys enjoy a hearty campfire meal. The sound of their breaking wind during this scene was created using the recordings of actual cowboys and cowgirls.

Alien
The chestburster scene in "Alien" was a surprise to most of the actors. The only one who knew what would happen was John Hurt, whose reaction was genuine, creating a more authentic shock on screen.

The Godfather
The famous cat in the opening scene of "The Godfather" was not originally in the script. It was a stray cat that Marlon Brando found on the set and decided to include in the scene.

Grease
In the final scene of "Grease" when the car takes off into the sky, the car was actually a full-scale mechanical replica with wheels that retracted, making it appear as though it was flying.

One Who Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest
"One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest" was one of the few films to win all five major Academy Awards: Best Picture, Best Director, Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Adapted Screenplay.

Life Of Brian
Monty Python's "Life of Brian" was met with controversy upon its release but has since become a cult classic. The film was banned in several countries for its religious satire, but John Cleese's mother defended it publicly.

Star Wars
The iconic opening crawl of "Star Wars" was created using practical effects. The text was physically printed on a 6-foot-long camera bed and filmed against a starry background to achieve the famous scrolling effect.

HALLOWEEN
The original "Halloween" (1978) had a limited budget, so the famous Michael Myers mask was a William Shatner mask painted white and altered to create a more haunting appearance.

All of these films are iconic and classic, and I have seen so many times. Do you love or like any of these films? Comment and let me know and hit me up on letterboxd @Scotty2Jonesy.
