Late Night Ramblin's: Vol 11 - Reflecting On My Use Of Social Media

I started getting onto social media back in 2009. Facebook, Youtube, Bebo, MSN Messenger were the first of those sites. Later came Instagram, Facebook, Twitch, TikTok and maybe some others that I no longer remember haha.

When I joined Facebook for a few years, I was addicted and took it as a competition to how many friends you have and would add random people who had similar interests or who had good convos with online in the comments section and yes some of them I still talk to today. Others are long gone and dust in the wind, to many there was nothing evil behind the nature of why I stopped talking or removed them from my Facebook account. Over time, I grew to realize I should not be so open and trusting of strangers and also just keep to people who actually know me and I see or talk to often or who I actually like. Instagram had the same treatment when I joined that site, I'd let anyone follow me and grow my followers, I did have 300 followers, but then I realized not many were liking my stuff or seeing my posts and some become inactive accounts, so I had to clear a lot of that out. There has been one person I did not want to unfollow or remove as a friend, and she did nothing wrong, but in the pandemic I was in a bad mentality of believing no one liked me or cared about me, and I was not hearing off some people or seeing them, and so they were removed for that reason. No one also tells you how addicting it can be to get likes, but over time I have cared less about that whole thing. My social media now is just keep in touch with friends and family and keep highlights and photos for memories. I have been a fool as I have grown up with social media and yes absolutely posted cringe photos and posts and rants. 

When I joined Twitter aka X, It was literally to talk to celebs, wrestlers, bands because that website launched and everyone was saying how "All the celebs are really on there and use that" and It's always a rush when a famous face likes or retweets or replies to you in any way shape or form. I never expect it and screenshot and keep record of those moments because it is just an unexpected rush of happiness. I have been a dumbass on Twitter too and posted cringe and argued over silly and stupid things because I was a stupid teenager. These days I just use Twitter to talk to my friends I made there in America who only use Twitter.

YouTube, I cared about getting views but never had the funds to get better equipment and to get the better views and quality content from gaming. When I finally had a capture card system for my XBOX 360 it was something I could not set up and any help I had well no one could get it to work with my laptop and Xbox, it was weird and a shame it did not work out. Yes these days I do still do YOUTUBE, but I rarely post and the videos are just for my friends and for memory's sake at this point as I capture our dumb and funny moments gaming and any glitches haha. 

TikTok I joined in Pandemic as I was sick of friends sending me stuff and then had to click to try and watch on the app and download the app, and eventually I made one and made some TikToks that I thought be fun to do or chime in on and yeah I ain't posted on there in months. YouTube and TikTok have given me plenty of warnings and content removals, and that does dampen the fun and experience of those sites.

Twitch, I only use twitch to talk to friends and watch their stuff now and again, I don't make content there at all. Msn, Skype & Bebo I used early on in my social life and those sites have been dead for years. Just used to talk to friends on there and that was it. Discord is another I delete and got back a few times because of friends. I mainly use Discord to talk to one of my English friends there, as he hates social media and is not on any now. Snapchat I use every day, mostly talking to my pretty lady or my friends or old friends from work. Whatsapp, I only use for work, nothing else.

So yes, in closing, my use of social media has dwindled down over the years, and now they are treated as conversation points and highlight reels. It is crazy to look back at it all and think in the last 20 years of how much has changed, yes it's not quite 20 years yet, but it's close. Youtube was so good before Google took over. Facebook had games, and now it's trying to be its own cyberverse thing being dubbed Meta and of course Facebook owns more than just Facebook now.

Facebook Weather Broadcasting

The technological advancements we have made with Facebook are quite outstanding, since we can now see and hear about snow without going outside.

Mark Zuckerberg had this to say about the new use of his creation: "When I created Facebook I had no idea people would turn into weather broadcasters". (Yes I made this quote up)

On that note even though it's sleet more than snow. Let's hope we have snow and it sticks.

Breaking News: Cylent Departure

BREAKING NEWS

It is with great sadness i must announce my departure from Cylent Beatz. Leaving on my own terms to go do new things. Love the lads at Cylent Beatz i am very greatful and thankful for all the opportunities i have been given with them and of everything i have learned from them and making so many new friends from them it's amazing. I wish the guys nothing but the best for the future they are gonna be stars. 

There for also....this facebook page the scott jones show aka the jones show will be deleted. I don't really use this page no more anyway. So i am deleting it. I will still have videos of the interviews on my youtube channel and i feel sad and do apologise for the lack of the missing second season as it seems to have been no good and has been scrapped.

The facebook page system is stupid why should people have to pay for people to see posts?

I use to use hootsuite a lot for everything here on this page etc until i had problems with hootsuite connecting so posts were not being thrown out anymore on my social networks which is gutting it was a handy site. 

What will i do now? Well, here is a list of what i typically get up to outside of CB. 

I am blogging on my own site. I am social networking via facebook and twitter. I make videos on my own youtube channel. I play video games. I go out with friends and family. I apply and look for work. I am attending courses and applying for work. I go swimming now and then. I watch movies. I listen to music. I write lyrics. I write other things. I aim to better myself as ever also. 

AND FINALLY....I rant and this is not a rant. If anything it's a statement on the state of things going on right now. This is not all hate or venting of frustration or what ever you want to call it. I am just listing facts and issuing a statement. See loads going on. Busy bee me lol.

I am also trying my best to finish writing some original stories and fan fiction. 

So as ever to achieve something you really want to get done it takes some sacrificing aswell. I can and will admit sometimes my heart was not so into work with CB anymore as it used to be but it's ok, all part of the learning curve of life.

I am one of many people out there who would love to do something yet others won't let you or they will but you won't get the same thing everyone else would get if you get me.

The fact that your parents income decides whether or not an unemployed person who wants to learn new things by attending college will not get paid, is dumb. So dumb.

The fact that also if you have an interest in a subject and you wanted to get educated about it, that you need required skills and grades from GCSE'S is also a load of bull.

This is a bit of a rant and some truthtelling to boot. For you to know that the page is going to go in a few days.

I will continue to support my CB family. I will also continue to be the best i can and do the best i can at anything also.

Random Ramblin's - Part 15 - New car smell/Thinking of the end?

So what is up? How are you? Doing good? Cool. Not doing good? Chin up buddy things will get better think of yourself as an arrow your just getting pulled back and waiting to be released to go into something better eh?

So so so wah! I dont even know what to say or type but yeah i will get something out of this noggin of mine.

New Car - Yes i finally got a new car its pretty nice and sadly i have not driven it yet all i have done is sit inside it haha its bigger and a year newer than my current car with the engine being 1 bit less than my old car but thats besides the point.

Quick Movie Review****************************************************************

Legend (2015) - Good film based on the Kray twins with Tom Hardy playing both brothers it has some inaccuracies and is more comical and entertaining than the 90s drama on the krays but it primarily follows Francis and the hardys oops i mean krays and nothing more really but new to the krays or not you will enjoy the film. 7/10

The Krays (90s) - Kemp twins become the Krays primarily following the mother violet aswell as the krays this has more accurate of the story and if you compare it to the 2015 legend remake you will see so many differences its hard to believe you are watching the same film more or less anyway. 6/10

Why is legend better than the krays if it has inaccuracies? Because i found Legend more entertaining and i watched it first and it was my first experience of the twins overall.

I almost came close to unfriending a person on facebook for posting she was enjoying herself in uni reading the bible while listening to classic fm. I know what blasphemy XD

I am thinking of quitting youtube......yes its true after 6 years doing it i may leave the site....or just stop making videos. Here is what i wrote on my facebook page but i took it down recently because i thought i should consider it more but anyway here i am just thinking out loud about it all:

 Ok so my mind is pretty set on a few videos that i majorly want to do and then i may consider finishing youtube. I am just feeling like i am being beaten by youtube a lot of the time you know back in the day youtube was "oh you using a copyright piece of song or vid? That's cool bro like emoticon" now its like "oi we do not approve your usage of this no matter how warped reversed and grainy you have made it" its not fair. I am totally split at the moment i guess i do not want to close my account down when i have done those few videos because memories and just there's videos i made that still make me laugh today and you know for family and friends to see them and them be reacting in whatever way they want to react is nice too. I do not really care if i get 3 views or 10 views i do youtube because i enjoy it,its fun to do and to just make videos have a laugh with friends or talk and rant or game or some stupid shit is a whole lotta fun that i still love to do. I shall admit that i have had plans to make a new separate channel with James too and which that will contain anything with us in and be linked to our cosplay page on facebook and stuff too you know. At the moment i got a lot on my mind with the less time i got to film and make videos i just find it hard to create something or to get time to film anything even when i have a day off. It does not help when i do make a video that it gets blocked or something when loads have the same things posted that their content is not blocked or anything but mine is? It makes no sense to me. I do not find it healthy either to be jealous of other youtubers that are smaller than me who have not long started are getting everything but i aint and that thinking is wrong i should be so supportive but i aint its not fair to me or them. It is also not good with the way my head is at the moment i have had some bad news recently relating to a family member and thats just brought my mood way down. I wont get into too much more but i got a plan of about well a page full of video ideas i want to do and like i said 3 are big main ones and others are fillers and yeah i guess i am gonna concentrate on getting more time off and to myself to get things back in order but at the moment this is how things are. My friends are mostly moving off in their separate ways which sucks but its life and i can not sadly make videos with them as much anymore. I know and have been told many times "oh get a capcard/gaming pc/screen cap software and better camera" yes yes yes i have had a capcard it was not compatible with my tv so. I do not want a gaming pc. I have had screen cap software on my laptop but it was rubbish. I have a good enough camcorder honestly it goes to 1080hp its hd and everything. I am also not a gaming channel i am more of a jack of all trades channel i have done basically every single youtube video genre well except the vehicle genre. I have written this days before you see it now but it may get deleted or may not depends how i am and if i change my mind. Have a good day.
