Deadpool & Wolverine - Fox Swan Song (FILM REVIEW)

Alright so after an agonising long wait, we finally got Deadpool & Wolverine on the big screen and our fave honey badger Australian in his iconic yellow suit. Joygasm!!!!🥵 Anyway time to explain the film's story and then touch upon my thoughts, LETS FUCKING GO!❤️💛❤️
Deadpool & Wolverine picks up few years after Deadpool 2 and Wade is retired and trying to live a normal life. However, Wades abuse of the time jumping and fixing has caught the attention of the TVA (some time line police agency for marvel) and so TVA tell Wade his universe is dying so Deadpool is forced to put on his big boy pants and has to save his world BUT we all know Deadpool only stops mini events at world domination and nothing as big as a world saver so Wade goes on a journey to recruit a Wolverine with attitude. Is it a good wolverine or a bad one he finds?🤔

On his time jumping journey we bump into familiar faces aswell as new and unexpected ones which is sure to get fans of all ages of all backgrounds excited and minds blown and their pants full so to speak😂 While trying to save his world our buddy's Wolverine and Deadpool scrap a few times and also run into Cassandra Nova and her band of mutant villains from all across the fox Xmen universe! Ooooh scary. Cassandra Nova is a pretty scary villain, she's an omega level mutant and she is the twin sister of a famous X-man. (I won't say more incase people don't know).🧐

So it's up to Deadpool and Wolverine to work together to save our "sacred timeline" but they are going to need a whole army to take down the likes of Cassandra Nova and her villainous mutants but who are they going to recruit? Find out by watching😊
So, the film I thought was great and basically fox's last stand or swan song essentially as we say hello and goodbye to their universes as Disney/Marvel owns the majority of them now. We have fabulous music choices and exciting over the top and hectic action sequences in between all the jokes and 4th wall breaks. The opening sequence was beautiful.

The action I felt was way too fast and I couldn't keep up at the best of times so another viewing is worth it to keep my eyes on someone else moving and killing in these action packed scenes. Cameos are good and in abundance, they should have not spoiled any of them in the trailers and some they did keep under wraps, thankfully. The action Choreography was incredible even if it was hard to keep up with watching. Shawn Levy did an incredible job with this film.

Wade and Logan are great and funny as always and as we could have ever imagined. The mouthy quippy whippy Deadpool meets our no nonsense stoic Wolverine and the characters are exactly as you expect. I wish we had some more time with our DEADPOOL friends from past two movies.

Lots of swearing and blood and gore. Here's hoping Deadpool is marvel jesus and ressurects the MCU otherwise I think MCU needs to do some more trimming and kill characters and films and things off to do a reset and hopefully focus on better stories and characters and overarching story telling.
Deadpool & Wolverine is the Spider-Man no way home of Deadpool and Wolverine's big screen outtings. A final send off to Fox's era of superheroes and an overall great movie.
9/10
Go enjoy it BUB!

STOP THE SPOILERS - RANT

Guys, can we all stop spoiling the big things. The most highly anticipated game of the year for me being Spider-Man 2 ps5, I've seen an abundance of spoilers prior to it's release and it's infuriating for me.

Its a highly anticipated massive game for me and a highlight of the year and something I have been waiting years for and to see and hear so many spoilers is upsetting and a total pisstake.

I've blocked and muted over 50 people. I've muted every single keyword associated with Spider-Man and the fact I'm seeing spoilers slip through the filters and gaps thanks to "recommended videos" and "tweets you may like" is fucking rediculous!

I am sorry but I have taken all the correct measures and for me to still see spoils even when I look up unrelated content to Spiderman or games is abysmal!

I get it for journalists to share bits and bobs for the game for promotions and their jobs but no major spoilers please. What's worse is the random and new accounts popping up spreading spoilers to ruin the game and experience for others just out of spite. This is happening far too often. Why can't people be more respectful and why can't people be more secretive until after a game has released. The playtesters or reviewers for the games need to sign a foolproof NDA of the game and if any info slips and comes back to them well sorry but those people should be removed from that studio. It's wrong. Whoever is leaking endings of films and games needs some sort of action taken against them. We need to stop this happening.

I am fed up of this bullshit!

I am writing this post full of disgust and annoyance. I don't wish to upset anyone and I don't wish to spoil anything for anyone.

Please respectfully enjoy the game in peace and quiet.

A Quiet Place - Silent But Deadly REVIEW (NO SPOILERS!)

SHHHHHHH!
A Quiet Place is a silent horror film directed by John Krasinski, who also stars alongside Emily Blunt in this flick. The plot follows a family of four who must live life in silence while hiding from creatures that hunt by sound and silence is the biggest and best character in the film! I will aim to be as spoiler free as I can!
Silence is golden it was atmospheric and so tense, I have never sat through a film and been so tensed up awaiting the creatures to kill someone because of an accidental noise being made, it's insane! Seriously before the film started there was the odd few rustling of crisp's and popcorn and the usual people talking or coughing and when the film started these noises stopped or people were doing it really quietly, it was a first to say the least.

The Abbott family are highly likeable, for once a horror movie with kids in which they were not so annoying and dumb I thought, well besides one or two moments I suppose.
Only back in February I seen trailers for this film and from then I was hooked, I was like "oh my god this looks scary and intense!" I told my friends about it and showed them the trailers to which they also reacted the same and said "WE HAVE TO SEE THIS ON THE BIG SCREEN!" and we did and we all enjoyed it like I said, it's a really good film! Might be worth noting we were all debating how we would all survive if the events of this film happened in real life....answer I think is we would not last long haha.

The film left me wanting more not only knowing more about the creatures but also the world and what happened to the family between these gaps of day's we had for example one minute it was day 89 and the next 400 odd so it's like what the hell went on over the course of the year or so!?
Props to Krasinski though he did a hell of a job with the screenplay, acting and directing this, it's his own masterpiece he has conducted, no other film i have seen in years has made an entire screen shut up soon as the film starts and stay absolutely quiet until the credits roll! A truly inventive, emotional, tense, film! Props to all cast and crew for this I hope it gains a great deal of success.

No there are NO POST CREDITS OR AFTER CREDITS!

8/10!
GO SEE IT BUT BE QUIET!

The Shape Of Water Film Review (SPOILER FREE)

Ok so it's been one of my most anticipated films since October last year i think when i first seen a trailer for it, i thought it looked fresh and unique and it was from Guillermo Del Toro which immediately caught my interest and heightened it further to want to watch this film and not only that but it was it's concept a love story between this creature from the deep and a mute woman and not only that but Michael Shannon's involvement also got me interested and excited to go see this film.

So what is The Shape Of Water all about? It's a fantasy, drama, romance spectacle set in cold war era America, In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa's life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda discover a secret classified experiment in the form of an aquatic beast but he is not a beast just a lovely misunderstood creature.

The cast are brilliant with Doug Jones playing the role of the Aquatic Man, Sally Hawkins as Elisa, Michael Shannon as Richard Strickland, Octavia Spencer as Zelda and along with Richard Jenkins as Giles they all stood out stole the show and drove the film along nicely.

The visual's are stunning, really capturing the days of the 50's/60's era of design and art along with the film capturing the era of the golden age of movies, it's really something. Costumes look lovely and of era. Music is great it's all of the same era of course and it's brilliant, not to spoil anything but there's a beautiful musical piece in the film set in black and white which is touching and overall it's a very sweet film too. A lot of practical effects went into the movie and i was shocked to hear Guillermo in an interview recently say "Nothing was filmed underwater, i don't like shooting in water, we hung everything upside down and made it work in slow motion." which i did not expect because the water and the effects of things under the water in the underwater scenes look so real like they were actually filming it underwater you know? I also realise it took me a while but i got to the point in the end of my last sentence haha.

This is the all new re-imagined Beauty And The Beast minus no rich guy being turned into the beast in this one but it's B&TB directed by Guillermo for sure and it was enjoyable to watch and just visually stunning.

I hope this film and everyone who worked on it and starred in it get's some awards, I do know it has picked up a bunch of awards already but i want it to gain more.

I have to say, this film is a must see, if you are curious or liked the trailer i highly recommend you go watch the film or if you like Del Toro for that matter.

I really enjoyed this movie, I hope you do too, please go see it if it interest's you!

FUN FACTS!

  • Director Guillermo del Toro began working on the film in 2011. He self-financed a crew that designed both the creature and the lab.
  • It took over nine months to arrive at the look of the creature, and director Guillermo del Toro calls it the most difficult movie he and his team have ever designed.
  • Doug Jones spent three hours every day getting into the costume. According to him, it was nothing compared to previous costumes he has worn in other films by Guillermo del Toro.
  • This project marked the first time director Guillermo del Toro had a female co-writer on his script.
  • This has no connection to Abe from Hellboy.
  • Guillermo chose to direct this film instead of Pacific Rim Uprising.

Your Name. Anime Film Review (In Short!) *SPOILER FREE*

Ok so i finally watched Your Name and it was of course the English dub and i know hearing that will disappoint many readers.
Your Name is a 2016 Japanese animated drama film written and directed by Makoto Shinkai and produced by CoMix Wave Films. A teenage boy and girl embark on a quest to meet each other for the first time after they magically swap bodies.

The animation oh my god it was spectacular so detailed, so beautiful.

Story was great it starts weird and funny but then it gets more serious and if you are not one for serious anime, don't worry it's still enjoyable!

Music and Voice Acting is also top notch, so well done and so suited perfectly to each scene.
I honestly was expecting the story to be a typical love story but also with tragedy going into it but it was more than that! NOT TO SPOIL ANYTHING IT IS NOT A SPOILER JUST MY OPINION OF WHAT I THOUGHT OF THIS FILM GOING INTO IT.

I don't think the live action film will work but who knows.
I have also heard there might be a part two to Your Name but i don't know if it would work either.
We can only speculate, wait and see.

Out of 10?

9

So that was really good and i enjoyed it and it did live up to the hype which i feared it would not and i would end up not liking it but thank god things did not go that way. It was such a beautiful sweet heartfelt film that just leaves you warm and relaxed.

Thanks for reading, film buffs around the world please watch this if you have not already!

Star Wars: The Force Awakens!(SPOILER FREE)

I have been on the ball lately and not on BB-8 but i was a lucky git and top it off Wednesday night at midnight i attended the screening for THE FORCE AWAKENS! Here are my thoughts and spoiler free of course!
SW-THE-FORCE-AWAKENS
“There has been an awakening…..have you felt it?” Yes i certainly have as i slept all day, as i was just tired from NXT the night before and it was also to ensure i did not fall asleep in the cinema watching star wars. I got up at 4pm! 4PM!, I KNOW WHAT A LAZY GIT THIS FORCE IS! The anticipation for the film has been building up since the first trailer and the wait all day was long and agonizing. The previews and trailers before the film seemed to go on for a life time! IT IS NOT NEEDED, PLEASE STOP, WE GET IT OTHER FILMS ARE COMING OUT BUT WE WANT STAR WARS! I got in the cinema at 11pm and i collected my tickets and bought a pair of limited edition 3d glasses for me and my friend at the counter. James my friend had a Stormtrooper and i had Mr.Anger issues himself Kylo Ren. The Ren 3d glasses were bit annoying for me to wear but they are so cool! This was the first midnight showing i attended and I also got interviewed by a member of the BBC he asked for my thoughts on the film and if its the first time i have attended a midnight premier. Pretty interesting indeed.

I was surprised to see just 3 people dressed up,i was going to dress up but i could not find my darn costume and i was also not sure if they would allow it as some theaters were not allowing costumes in. I seen a man dressed as Princess Leia which was a scary but funny site. I seen an old man dress as old Ben Kenobi and finally some guy dressed as Darth Maul all pretty random. The screening i saw was 3d and surprisingly enough a couple rows were empty when they said it’s all sold out it is odd did people forget about the force? Do not turn to the darkside they may have cookies but the light side has…erm…well…fine i will take a cookie…nom…nom.
Latest-The-Force-Awakens-Trailer-Description
At about 10 past 12 the screen finally displayed “STAR WARS THE FORCE AWAKENS!” which is rated 12A by the way and the whole screening room erupted in laughter as 3 wookie’s appeared from nowhere and started to make their noises, honestly if you know the sounds Chewbacca makes well some erupted with those while others laughed at them. I was laughing even though secretly i wanted to join my wookie brothers. Then there it was right after the lucusfilms logo as bright as day STAR WARS ROLLING TEXT OPENING WITH THE GLORIOUS FAMOUS LEGENDARY JOHN WILLIAMS SIGNATURE MUSIC! OH WHAT A DAY,WHAT A LOVELY DAY! The kid in me was so pumped i fist bumped my friend because i just had to! I was just fist pumping the air in my chair reading the text. The basic plot of the film is the good guys are still fighting the bad guys but both are still at stalemate while both seem to be looking to find the location of the missing Luke Skywalker that is what the main plot is but what follows that is more excitement, intensity, fondness and sadness oh boy that is no spoiler i know people who cried at the scrolling text bro!

It was nice to look at,the music was nice, the script was solid, the story was solid, the overall cinematography and actors all solid as were the characters the only downside for me was the reveals they just came out with it openly rather than get stuff remaining a mystery even though there is a lot of mystery and things still to discover and find out about. I also did not feel like the 3d was worth it i can hardly remember anything that came right out of the screen at me. It is crazy to think i was one of many people around the uk first to see star wars before anyone else in the world. The old crew returned in the form of Leia,Han,Chewie,C3-PO & R2D2 which was lovely they have not changed one bit besides aging of course not even in a galaxy far far away in a long time ago can fix aging. Now let’s talk about the new generation of characters i loved them all if i am honest well i believe seeing more of Phasma and Snoke may get me to like them but i am not entirely sold on them yet. Poe surprised me i thought i was not going to like him odd as that sounds but i loved him he is awesome so are Finn and Rey oh oh and BB-8! They all remind me of the original guys but a bit different of course and the film also strongly reminded me of episode 4 and the original trilogy just of course twisted into its own being.

The wait was worth it and the film is amazing! GO SEE IT RIGHT NOW!
