MHA: You're Next Movie - Review!

Alright, it's finally time to sit back and kick butt as our beloved heroes of Class 1A return to the big screen. In the film, taking place after the U.A. Traitor arc of the manga, Izuku Midoriya faces a villain who tries to imitate the hero that Izuku has long admired the most.

For me, this is the weakest film in the series. It really should have released before the final season.

It's really good don't get me wrong, it's a love letter to class 1A, and it's lovely to see everyone get some spotlight.

Seeing the 3 musketeers fight side by side was hype, and I feel that's something that was cut from the last film. Should have ended the fight with "We are Here".

Animation and music was class. English dub cast do a fantastic job as ever. Dark Might and his family of goons was pretty cool. The mixture of quirks and alchemy was neat.

Pretty funny film and great side characters with Julio and Anna being the integral part of the story.

Before the final fight we do have a stand-off, and it left me in awe but also thinking "oh this isn't Dekus most powerful smash" then we have a bonus fight, and I was like "Jesus Christ that was Dekus powerful smash yet" as he broke a frigging island in half.

For me, nothing has topped the second film, I love that one so much. I do hope we get one more film, but I'm not quite sure where they will fit it in the timeline of events.

My Hero Academia: World Heroes Mission Movie - Review!

By now you should know what My Hero Academia is about or you know that I am a huge fan of it. So when the new movie was announced I was so excited and here we are now that the movie is out in cinemas in the UK from the 29th October 2021, I shall give you the low down and my thoughts on this movie.

So with the world population having 80% of it with powers we have a terrorist group come from the shadows to throw the world into chaos by bombing places to take people's powers aka quirks away from them because they believe in a quirk doomsday theory which means powers will destroy the world basically and so our heroes set off all over the world to take down the threat of Humarize. Meanwhile our boy Deku has been framed for murder and is on the run with our new companion Rody (Who is the heart of the movie and is such a well written great character I felt.)

This film is it's own thing, set roughly in the middle of the show's 5th season however. This is visually stunning and I felt it was their best animation yet. The soundtrack is also amazing! There was a few new characters introduced with this film too and two of which stood out are Flect and Rody. Rody brought a lot of heart to this movie and Flect brought menace. One criticism I have is Bakugo felt mostly one note most his lines were "Don't give me orders" and it would have been refreshing to see and hear new and different lines as his character is changing and evolving more as we move further on down the line to the current issues of the manga with his character development, however we did get to see Bakugo use his brains more and that surprised me.

This film delivers MHA at it's best with outstanding fan service moments which the fans are still all hyped and talking about aswell as gorgeous scenery and hype music. Sadly this does not really affect the canon of the anime and manga BUT I think it has moments which will be followed up with later down the line especially with some of the new special moves shown off in the epic fights.

Anyway, if you enjoy MHA you will no doubt enjoy and love this movie.

My Hero Academia Top 10 Songs

My Hero Academia is one of my all time favourite anime's and it's one of the most inspirational anime's i have ever seen. I love this show so much and oh my god does it have some banging tunes!

So from the opening themes, closing themes and the inbetween's, let's take a trip to UA Highschool to listen in on these quirky numbers!
10: You Can Become A Hero
So to kick off the list is this instrumental song which appears in the scene where All Might passes on his Quirk to Young Midoria. Deku for years looked up to All Might so imagine the surprise he gets when All Might says to him that he was inspired by his biggest fan's movements without thinking. Deku was a normal kid not blessed with a quirk unlike so many of the entire population of the world yet he acted in the face of danger without thinking and All Might tell's him that he can become a hero and this is where the story begins of how Deku became the world's greatest hero!

9: Heroes
The ending theme to the first season is very powerful. Performed by Brian The Sun the lyrics are great so is the instrumental. Best lyric: "No matter if this is fiction or reality, i'll surely manage to go beyond!".

8: Make My Story
I know what i have to do, it's my life my one and only! Oh god this just hits and just takes you on a roller coaster i feel and damn is it stylish, catchy and hard hitting, i love this one!

7: Polaris
The story of Eri is captured in this heartbreaking emotional powerful song. "Push aside all these tears and be the best i can be, just as long as i know you won't give up on me, at the end of the day i'd give you everything!, made a promise that you would always be safe, just know my heart can still remember that day". Beautiful right?!

6: Hero A
This is a chilling track with rock rap based elements and i love it, it's very different but it appears quite a bit instrumentally and as the rap rock version at times and it's damn good.

5: Might+U
This is a soft, raw, emotional, vulnerable song and it makes me cry but also feel inspired and empowered and reassured. It's honestly such a beautiful song! "Remember it's just natural that we'll be there if you need help, Far across the distance, rest assured that our faith just won't die".

4: Hero Too

OH I BLOODY LOVE THIS ONE!!!! Class 1A gave a hell of a concert experience in performing this original song hehe. "Hero too, I am a hero too, My heart is set (my heart is set) and I won't back down, Hero too, strength doesn't make a hero, True heroes (true heroes) stand up for what they believe, So wait and see".

3: Peace Sign
Here is the season 2 opening which i always catch myself humming or singing just randomly, it makes me smile. The instruments and way it flows it's just so good! "My eyes are swollen from the tears that I've been crying but to the world ever smiling, singing for the courage i'm dying to show, with my peace sign up as i say goodbye, write a story of a hero!" Song perfectly captures all might and deku.

2: You Say Run
THIS OH YES! Purely instrumental inspiring motivating butt kicking anthem here! LOVE IT SO MUCH AHHHHHHH!!!!

1: The Day
Iconic and classic this song captures the feel of what to expect from this show, it's a bloody good track! I heard and loved this way before i watched the anime crazy right!? I do miss it at times and i am almost always singing it or humming it. "The maze is twisting, ever twisting, Do you plan to see what you're missing, The sound of a bell from a tiny adventurer, Signals a new beginning, Are you sure that you're not shaking?, Such uncertain roads you're taking, Every step that you take it is changing you, Where is tomorrow?, The day has come!"

Alright and that's my list, what did you think?

Do you like these songs too? You a big fan of the anime or manga?
What list would you like me to do next?
Let me know!

Stay safe and stay shiny!

My Hero Academia: Hero's Rising (Review)

AH HELLO THERE YOUNG STUDENTS, FEAR NOT FOR THIS BRIEF INTERRUPTION FOR I AM HERE!!!!
Yes that is correct I, Scott *ahem* 1stmetalgod am here! AHAHAHA! Here to give you a lowdown and my thoughts on the latest big blockbuster anime which happens to be the top in CLASS MOVIE-A!
I am quite a fan of MHA, it's such a unique, funny and brilliantly compelling animated superhero series which just keeps growing and growing and going PLUS ULTRAAAAAAA!!!
Now i am almost all caught up on the seasons as i am yet to watch Season 4 as of writing but i have seen the newest movie Hero's Rising and honestly wow and omg so freaking epic!!!! The animation, the colours, the sound, the music, the characters, the pacing, the quirks, the english voice cast, it's all so perfect and amazing in tandem!!!! Overall it's a hell of a SMAAAAAAAAAAAAAASH!!!!
Fans of the show are going to be blown away and will need to own this on BLU-RAY ASAP!!!! I went to see this with my fellow classmates *ahem* i mean friends with Jared who is the top student here of the MHA series in my circle of friends and i also went to see it with my other friend James who has not seen any MHA besides the first movie so we all went in just excited and peachy as punch to witness the awesome sauce that was Deku and Bakugo kicking arse and what we got was a cinema screen half full of passionate MHA students whom some were dressed up and others not but hey they were on their feet applauding and screaming and roaring with laughter and just amazement at some scenes. It was unlike anything i have ever seen in the cinema.
So let's get to knowing the quirks *ahem* i mean the film: My Hero Academia: Heroes Rising is a 2019 Japanese anime superhero film, and the second film based on the manga My Hero Academia by Kōhei Horikoshi. The film was directed by Kenji Nagasaki, produced by Bones, and was released in Japan on December 20, 2019 and February 26th 2020. Class 1-A head to a tropical island in Japan to learn how to protect citizens and do some real hero work. The island seems strangely peaceful until a group of villains arrives to ruin their plans, including super baddie Nine who threatens to dominate the island with his indestructible ‘quirk’ ability.

I can't wait to see what happens next for MHA. I can't wait to see you reading here again either YOUNG READER! So remember to stay shiny and go PLUS ULTRAAAAA!!!!

Scotties Spotify Top Song Of The Year:
So I love music but who doesn't and this year we have been presented with so many tunes and Spotify has kindly helped me in piecing together 3 contenders for my top song of the year and this could mean one of these 3 songs I have listened to the most this year. The nominations are: The Guess Who - Laughing, Jaroslav Beck - $100 Bills and Hugh Jackman & Zac Efron - The Other Side. And the winner is...........THE OTHER SIDE BY HUGH JACKMAN AND ZAC EFRON APART OF THE GREATEST SHOWMAN SOUNDTRACK! A huge surprise hit of the year both film and music wise as it took the nation and our cinemas by storm a well deserved winner.
Scotties New Fave Band Of The Year: So many bands old and new have come into my life this year and well as hard as it is to pick a winner out of so many this award goes to the band I have listened to most and this goes to the mighty SABATON!
Scotties Most Listened To Album Of The Year: Many choices here but the one which sticks out the most that I have listened to is my boys of 21 Pilots with their newest album TRENCH!
Scotties Meme Of The Year: Another year has passed and so has so many memorable, funny and cringey memes but one stuck out the most to me and made the most impact this year and that is.....UGANDAN KNUCKLES!
Scotties Game Of The Year: Oh this is the big one here with so many contenders this year I will admit I only play PS4 but don't worry I will also have a PS4 exclusive category next up. Right with so many heavy hitting games this year it's a tough choice however the winner is.......RED DEAD REDEMPTION 2!
Scotties PS4 Game Of The Year: So many heavy hitting contenders here and of course no doubts here that PS4 had the best year in gaming and has the best exclusives but up for this exciting award are the following amazing games: Detroit Become Human, God Of War and Spiderman. These games are all winners let me say that first of all but out of them my fave exclusive this year was.......SPIDER-MAN!
Scotties Multiplayer Game Of The Year: Not going to lie but this choice was incredibly easy to make granted that i have spent almost 400 hours on the game this year with my bessie mates Jared and James and the winner of course is........FORTNITE!
Scotties TV Show Of The Year: I admit I don't watch many tv shows anymore but this award goes to.....THE FLASH!
Scotties Actor Of The Year: So many amazing actors but one actor I have seen the most this year and has delivered on every performance and there's one that stands out the most and this award goes to the wearer of the Infinity Gauntlet himself......JOSH BROLIN!
Scotties Actress Of The Year: Just like the best actor category this year we have seen amazing talented actresses and again for me the one who stood out most is.......TESSA THOMPSON!
Scotties Film Of The Year: So many amazing films this year such as Game Night, A Quiet Place, Upgrade, The Shape Of Water, Bohemian Rhapsody, Searching, Bumblebee, Into the Spiderverse, Infinity War and Deadpool 2 to name but a few of the best we have had this year and so with all of these in mind my overall winner should come to no surprise because of how much love and praise I gave it earlier this year and it was not me either that gave this film a lot of praise, critics and academies alike gave it many awards and without further babbling from me the winner is......THE SHAPE OF WATER!
