My Deer The Writers Block - A Poem?

Here i lay, late at night,
Crying myself to sleep with fright,
Unable to write, Disabled to fight,
Blocked up with ideas, blocked in by words,
This is my curse,
This is my writers block,
Stumped to continue,
I just want to be ready to rock and rolla,
But i cant even manage to push out my words in their baby stroller,
It's just a baby, a tiny idea, words that come in bundles,
The idea is a deer,
This is my writers block, I'm stumped to continue,

I write and write, type and i type,
Describe the things i hold in my head,
To come out, come alive, manifest!,
The struggle is real its been 34 days,
The creativity is there, but nothing is coming out of my mind,
It's putting me down deeper into misery,

This is my writers block,
I struggle to go on,
So I write instead of doing nothing because, what could go wrong?,
I wish to insert a coin and enable continue,

This is my writers block,
What am i to do,
When all that comes out is just poo,
Go back to the drawing board, Or bid adieu

I'm ready but the baby won't come,
Stroller up ready for the ideas to go for a walk,
The struggle makes me unable to talk,
The block is not my friend dear,
This is my writers block, i'm unable to continue,
I wrote this in hope to free my deer.

I hope my deer, can be free,
I want it to run wild imaginatively,
I wish to break the shackles that bind,
I will bring to light, the bright and the bold,
New fresh factory made gold,
For all readers to hold,
For there's new journey's to behold,

This is my writers block,
This is my Deer.

21 Pilots song Pet Cheetah inspired this, I use my writers block to express the struggle and to try and get out of that stumped slump i am in by creating my own kind of writing exercise. I leave this as a normal post its not really lyrical, or poem worthy i guess but it's satirical and will just be posted as a reminder to always write even when i feel nothing good is coming. Might come across as complete drivel to a lot of people i'm sure but hey power of expression!

Random Ramblin's 37 - The Depressing Times Of The Workhorse

Uh Hi!
First of all, how do you like the new look? Took me a few hours but here we are! Nice, new, fresh, sleek, slick, dope, lit. Yes it is all those words and more! Just looking at the new design just makes me smile to be honest, i'm pretty proud of what i have done here, i hope all of you like it too :)
WELCOME TO THE NUW-METAL ERA!

Sooooooooo it's been a while and as the title suggests we are about to get a bit sad and down but don't worry i'll try and make it a bit cheerier near the end or something i guess who knows, let's see how this goes as my fingers proceed to hit the keys in all sorts of rhythmic motions as I vibe and stay entranced in retro wave music.

Weird intro out of the way so first of all, I now have two jobs, yep it's true one job I have had for almost 2 years and the other i have been in for 2 months now. Don't really like the second job i find it boring, unsociable and a real drag overall. So the workhorse i have dubbed myself after Seth Rollins since he works a lot and now i do and often twice a day so yeah rough? Some days it is rough, other days its ok.

Sad stuff now
Telltale games has shut down since my last random ramblin's, Gamesmaster mag has also now shut down. Stan Lee has passed away and so did my lovely Uncle Kenny.

Uncle Kenny was a great man, a lovely man, one of the best easy. He was the first to introduce me to the act of magic and illusion and he always had this running joke with me that he had an actual wishing well as a kid when your 3-5 you'll believe anything and you know I'd go down his throw some money in wishing well make a wish and I'd always check the bucket when I rolled it up to find a bag of sweets, drinks, chocolates, crisps etc. Haha he always said to me everytime I seen him was about something new in his garden. "Alright boy, you'll never believe what I got in my garden. I got a Giraffe, An Elephant, a lion and a tiger" last time I seen him was before he became unwell which was about a month or two ago and he'd tell me then and remind me the stories and memories of going to his as a kid and telling me how his zoo in his garden is doing haha so random but that's Kenny to me, a funny random guy who was loved by all because he was so down to earth and just lovely in general and he'll be missed dearly. This Christmas bingo and drink will be strange without him but he'll be there in spirit and I'll be sure to have a whiskey for him. :)
Sorry to put a downer on things but life ain't all smiles and hardwork and it's ok to not feel ok. It's OK and natural and human to feel sad. It's OK to feel sad and to celebrate the memory of a loved one. Keep them in your hearts and memories forever. :)

Regarding Gamesmaster, i am in the last issue doing a review on spiderman and well here's a blog post all about it - https://1stmetalgodsblog.blogspot.com/2018/11/rip-gamesmaster-mag.html

Regarding Stan Lee well what's to say? His work, his characters, stories, art and he himself overall have inspired me, tried to meet him once in London but was put off from the massive crowds. Gutted at this news but he's forever cemented as a legend and his legacy will live on forever. Thanks.
Let's mosey along!
11/11/18 - 100 years ago the great war stopped....machines guns fell silent, guns were dropped to the floor, and the brave came home after years of constant fighting. We lost many and we won't forget but we will always honour the fallen.

Things you may not know about me #1: I'm a Google certified local guide. I submit reviews, photos and answer questions on Google maps. I recently hit the landmark of 8000 views on my reviews and 5000 on my photos. I do this for fun and when I get free time and become bored really. I will continue to do these now and then and post on my facebook writers page primarily which can be found here - https://www.facebook.com/ScottJonesWriter

Halloween in work this year was interesting as i had my facepainted like Venom and scared many people and had strange looks all day haha.

Movies
I have watched a lot since we last touched base so let me cover a bunch of movies i have seen in short.

Bohemian Rhapsody: 8/10
The Predator: 7/10
BlacKKKlansman: 8/10

Teen Titans Go To The Movies: 5/10 (i expected this film to totally suck but it was actually alright, i liked some songs, i liked the characters, there was some nice 4th wall breaks and jokes and some bits made me laugh)

Tag: 8/10

Johnny English Reborn: 5/10 (best scene was the Darude but also the VR scene was brilliant)

Bleach(Netflix film): 4/10

Fullmetal Alchemist (Netflix) 7/10 (I actually really liked this, only thing i hated was how fast they wrapped up the last hour and act)

VENOM: 5/10 (Expected it to be much worse than it was, Tom Hardy made the film decent is all because for the most part its a mess!)

Upgrade: 9/10 (surprise hit of the year for me i loved this!)
Searching: 9/10
Hush: 7/10
Equaliser 2: 7/10
Autopsy Of Jane Doe: 8/10
I'm sure i have seen a few more but as of writing this, this is all i remember.

Games
Spyro: I have not had the chance to play yet but i have it :)
RDR2: It's what i am still playing at the moment on chapter 4, the game had such a slow start but after chapter 2 it picked up more :)

Writing
Not going too bad it's slow on some projects but it's steady on the blog side as you can see. Getting to work on Predator fan fiction. Some Halloween and Power Rangers are also in the works :) More stuff here - https://www.facebook.com/ScottJonesWriter

Well that's all for this one, sorry for the long gap between random ramblin's but as you can see i been keeping busy here on my blog, in games, watching films, working and other life stuff so yeah, remember to stay shiny and i'll see you in my next post! :)

Special shoutout to my friend Richard who has now started his own blogging adventure: https://mytrickyjourney.blogspot.com/2018/10/bit-of-tricky-start.html

R.I.P. GamesMaster Mag

Sad times ahead. My favourite magazine publisher has shut down. Gamesmaster magazine has finished publication printing after 25 years.

GamesMaster is a monthly multi-format computer and video game magazine published by Future plc in the United Kingdom. It is the biggest selling multi-format video games magazine in the United Kingdom, outselling its sister publication Edge, But Future has announced it will be closing the magazine on 1 November 2018. The magazine was launched in January 1993, to complement the television show of the same name. While the show has since ceased broadcasting, the magazine has carried on.

I never got to watch the tv show sadly but I owned my first GM mag back in 2002 with Spider-man on the cover. My collecting and obsession of the mag didn't then exist until I became a regular reader from 2008 onwards, so I've been a loyal reader for 10 years. I've submitted many letters, emails, Facebook posts, twitter dm's etc into them over the years. I've gotten in many times and even won their star letter once. I have kept all of my gm appearances in a scrap book because it's memories and just awesome i made it into their magazine it's a true honour among the gaming community I believed.

It's truly sad to see them go, GM not only gave me great gaming insides and knowledge but also gave me a platform via their social media pages to interact with and meet many new friends along the way. Many of which I am still in contact with such as James Davie, William Golding, Ryaan Sandham, Darren Emery, Greg Atkins, Layla Griffiths to name just a few! Love all the friends i have made through GM, if they end up reading this well hello there haha.

So hey go pick up the latest and last ever issue of GM. You'll see my small review of #Spiderman in it too!

Thank You GM for bringing such great memories. From the friends I've made through mutual love of the mag to the free gifts and all the knowledge you have given to us your noble readers.

#THANKYOUGM #GAMESMASTERMAG get those trending and say you're thanks and post memories you have of them please, let's get it trending as a tribute to our fave magazine.

Top 10 GTA Songs

Yo, wazz upppppppp!?
So I have been tasked to come up with a list of my fave top 10 songs which have featured in GTA a la thanks to James Davie.

So I will be listing songs from all GTA's and my fave ones at that and explaining the meaning of them. Songs will be primarily featured from GTA VICE CITY, SAN ANDREAS & GTA 5. (Mainly these as they are my faves in the series)

10: Whitey Shafer - All My Ex's Live In Texas - Toss up between this and I love a rainy night from GTA San Andreas really both songs always use to play whenever it rained funny enough and I loved the songs too. Song meaning is pretty obvious no?

9: America - A Horse With No Name - The band said they wrote this while on tour in Europe and the singer was potching about with chords and then came up with lyrics and fantasied about the desert to escape from a rainy and depressing weather that they had while on tour in England. Another from San Andreas of course.

8: The Bugles - Video Killed The Radio Star - Classic even before i played Vice same for a couple of the songs on the list i had heard prior to the game but you know ended up loving them more i guess? Long before TV, there were shows on the radio. Radio stars were like TV stars are today. The concept of the "Radio Star" actually existed well into the 50s. Video (TV) killed the Radio Star because as TV got more popular, there were fewer and fewer radio shows until there were none.

7: Gary Numan - Cars - This is about how people use technology and material goods to isolate themselves from human contact so similar to how i played vice for hours inside my house rather than go outside and be social haha.

6: Cutting Crew - (I Just) Died in Your Arms - What did i tell you so many classics here in this list! This is a song about a dude who got involved in a relationship for a quick bit of fun or on the heat of the moment. However, it has gotten deep and he must've told lies about himself and now he has gotten too far in. However, she must be a player of some sort 'cos she has broken hearts before and he is just a name on her list so to speak.

Before we get to number 5 let's take a quick DANCE BREAK!

5: Bryan Adams - Run to You - It's about an affair that this guy is having with another woman. He knows it's wrong because his girlfriend looks after him, is good to him and loves him unconditionally, but he doesn't get the satisfaction from her and it's a good song.

4: Kim Wilde - Kids In America - Utter guilty fave of mine not gonna lie well why should i feel guilty for liking it,  tis damn good. The song recognises the difficulties of adolescence, struggling with life, both physically and philosophically. Like a typically tough young punk rocker, she is ready for the challenge, she is tough, and she warns the world to get ready for them.

3:  Modjo - Lady (Hear Me Tonight) - Going a bit more modern now with this early 00s classic. The lyrics are about a guy who meets a girl at a disco. The words are very simple, which the group claims is because this was their first effort and neither of them are good at writing lyrics.

2: Stardust - Music Sounds Better with You - Late 90s classic which also featured in GTA not a lot to say about the meaning of it but i enjoyed driving through los santos with this playing.

1: Michael Jackson - Billie Jean - I'll be fully honest, Vice got me into Jacko. What a song! The song's lyrics refer to a real-life experience, in which a mentally ill female fan claimed that Jackson fathered one of her twins which is of course crazy but hey it gave us this iconic hit.

Right oh, that's all i have for you today, stay shiny and don't commit GTA!

Top 10 Queen Songs (Plus Bohemian Rhapsody Film Review!)

How in the hell have I not done a list on Queen?
I thought I had but I could not find one.

I recently seen the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody and i thought it was brilliant and i wanted more because the film could not fit everything in of course it fitted in mostly the highs and lows of Queen and Freddie leading up to Live Aid basically and overall i'd give it a 8/10.

Anyway, Queen are one of my all time fave bands perhaps my all time fave guitarist is Brian May and vocalist is Freddie Mercury. I got into the band at a young age from my Dad as he is a big queen fan.
While this list will list the one's i love best and any interesting facts or maybe the meaning behind the songs I will do my best to bring something interesting to you aswell as the songs in question.

10: Don't Stop Me Now - Kicking off the list is this momentum bringer. It’s high energy and the singsong element of, “Don’t stop me now” is so catchy it’s almost impossible not to bob your head to it. It feels like the song races along, and Mercury races along, but it never gets going too fast. Most common interpretation of this song is about life and sex and the lyrics go to show that and that it's all about having a good time.

9: I Want To Break Free - Of course first time I seen the music video as a kid i found it weird and funny and the song was catchy and damn awesome. I suppose the song is about being yourself breaking free from your shackles that keep you down and enabling you to break free and how you are expressing how you want to break free at that.

8: You're My Best Friend - Alright so this list was hard to put together because i love Queen and they have so  many amazing songs. Deacon wrote this beautiful song for his new wife, but it’s Mercury’s voice that makes it so resonant. It’s a perfect match of material and performer. It’s a wonderfully bright pop rock song. It's a really loving uplifting song both lyrically and musically.

7: Killer Queen - Freddie went on record to say this is about a high society call girl. This is a song with the words “gunpowder, gelatine, dynamite with a laser beam” in the chorus. Mercury’s sonorous, high-pitched voice sells it all, though.

6: We Will Rock You - If you only know one Queen song (and the odds are very low you only know one Queen song), it’s probably “We Will Rock You.” Just two minutes long, it’s mostly all “boom, boom, clap” with a few May guitar licks thrown in. However, that simple beat is so insanely catchy that the song has become legend.

5: Under Pressure - This is a song that has both Freddie Mercury and David Bowie on it. How could it fail to be anything other than great? We are all under pressure but we must give love to each other to help one another out and release our pressures.

4: Another One Bites The Dust - Catchy and damn funky and that bass line is top notch! I see the song as being about this Steve who is on a rampage. Simply straight forward.

3: Radio Gaga - A song who's message displays how we don't focus on the music anymore we just rather view their videos. Catchy song about man vs machine more or less but another fact Lady Gaga got her name from this song because it's one of her faves.

2: We Are The Champions - This is one of Queen’s two unbeatable sports anthems, although “We Are the Champions” can only be used in pretty specific situations. While it leans itself to sports so well, “We Are the Champions” is just a song of triumph that should get you amped regardless of the circumstances. Funnily, it’s partially a ballad, but then the chorus swells and you feel like you can run through a wall. That’s the power of music. That’s the power of Mercury’s voice.

1: Bohemian Rhapsody - Oh i'm sorry did you expect a different number one? It's difficult to analyse a song who's writer refused to analyse it himself. The band doesn't even know the true meaning, to this day. It is claimed to be just a tongue in cheek mock opera- just for fun. There are countless theories and people said this song sucks, it wont be a hit, it's too long, too pretentious, etc etc but look at the impact the song had and still has to this day it's one of the most iconic and influential songs in all of music history.

Go see Bohemian Rhapsody and let me know your thoughts on it and on this list! :)

Stay a killer queen!
