The 10 Best Guardians Of The Galaxy Tracks

What's up metallic nation? Hope you are well!

I went to the midnight release showing of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Thursday night 27th April and it is pretty amazing, a solid 8 out of 10 from me. Had a lot to live up to some of it was a bit out of place or all over the place or rushed in ways but it was funny and highly enjoyable.

To celebrate one of the most anticipated blockbuster movies this year in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, i have decided to look over the first and second film's soundtracks and list the 10 best!

CLICK TO BOOK TICKETS!

Now Tyler Bates who composes the original soundtrack music on both Guardians does a fantastic job but i am not going to be listing his 10 best from Guardians just the 10 best from the mix tapes.

I will add Vol 2 is relatively new to when this list is released so the tracks off vol 2 will need more time to grow into liking more so following seeing the film and this list will contain links to the song's and facts about the film or songs!

Altogether besides original soundtrack the songs used is 26 so let's get down and pick the best 10 so let's tuck in.

This one the team gears up for battle and it's so suiting and a great punk track to kick the list off with a ch ch ch ch cherry BOMB! "Cherry Bomb" is a 1976 punk-influenced hard rock single by the all-girl band The Runaways from their self-titled debut album. It is regarded by many as the band's signature song. "Cherry Bomb" was also ranked 52nd on VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs.  It reached #1 on the Japanese chart and #106 on the U.S chart.

The first song from Vol 2 to appear in this list is from the amazing Fleetood Mac! Yes they are in vol 2 with their hit the chain which is a wicked song, really catchy and one to bop your head too and rock out to half way through and one easily recognisable for it is used a lot in Formula 1 shows. "The Chain" is a song by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on their best-selling album Rumours. It is the only song from the album credited to all five members (Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood); "The Chain" was created from combinations of several previously rejected materials, including solo work by Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie. It was assembled, often manually by splicing tapes with a razor blade, at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California, with hired engineers Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut. The BBC's Formula One coverage used the ending bass line as a theme tune from 1978 until the BBC's loss of TV rights to ITV Sport in 1997, thus making the song highly recognisable in the United Kingdom. On 29 March 2009 the song re-entered the UK Chart at #94 through downloads, following confirmation from the BBC that it would be reintroduced, the BBC having regained broadcasting rights from ITV. On 20 March 2011, "The Chain" peaked higher at #81 in the UK chart following a campaign on Facebook to try to get the song to number 1 for the start of the 2011 Formula One season. By November 2014, the song had been certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry based on download sales alone, making it one of Fleetwood Mac's most successful songs in the UK.

A really lovely song here and a nice moment of peace as Gamora and Star lord take a break and dance out their sexual chemistry, great scene between the two in volume 1 and it's such a great song to boot. One that has stuck in my mind since my first GOTG 1 showing. "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" is a single written and performed by blues guitarist Elvin Bishop. It appeared on his 1975 album Struttin' My Stuff and was released as a single the following year. Bishop does not sing lead vocals on the track; feeling that his gravelly voice wouldn't do the song justice, he invited vocalist Mickey Thomas, who was a background singer in his band at the time, to sing it. The song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in May 1976. The song went on to become a gold record.

A classic many knew of before GOTG 1 but it's so peaceful and relaxing and really catchy seriously if you don't like Pina Colada's you will definitely be singing this one love them or hate them haha. "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" is a song written and recorded by British-born American singer Rupert Holmes for his album Partners in Crime. As the lead single for the album, the pop song was recommended by Billboard for radio broadcasters on September 29, 1979, then added to prominent US radio playlists in October–November. Rising in popularity, the song peaked at the end of December to become the last US number one song of the 1970s. The song speaks, in three verses and three choruses, of a man who is bored with his current relationship because it has become routine and he desires some variety. One night, he reads the personal advertisements in the newspaper and spots an ad that catches his attention: a woman who is seeking a man who, among other little things, must like piña coladas. Intrigued, he takes out an ad in reply and arranges to meet the woman "at a bar called O'Malley's", only to find upon the meeting that the woman is actually his current partner. The song ends on an upbeat note, showing that the two lovers realised they have more in common than they had suspected, and that they do not have to look any further than each other for what they seek in a relationship.

A scene no one can forget in GOTG 1 with Baby Groot dancing and going still when Drax looks in his direction. This like the one above is a classic tune and many heard before the film but it's so good and used in such a great fun cute way with Groot in the end of the first volume. "I Want You Back" is a 1969 song by the Jackson 5 which became a number-one hit for the band and the Motown label in early 1970.  "I Want You Back" was ranked 121st on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Groot wanted to say hi or rather I am Groot....
Another new one from volume 2 and such a catchy one with it's chorus. I have never heard it prior to volume 2 but i wish i had, great song. I can't get the chorus out of my head though.....not a bad thing but it's just one i keep singing over and over lol. Silver was an American 1970s country rock band, best known for their 1976 pop hit "Wham Bam," written by country songwriter Rick Giles. It is ranked as the 70th biggest hit of 1976.

Now sadly i don't remember this playing in volume 2 movie but it was prominently played during all the commercials for guardians vol 2 and it's such a great catchy classic tune. "Fox on the Run" is a song by the British band Sweet, first recorded in 1974. It was Sweet's first single that was written by the band, rather than producers Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, and was their 14th single overall. The lyrics of the song are about groupies;"fox" being slang for an attractive woman.

Another iconic classic tune one which always gets me singing and dancing in a happy manner. Heard this song first when i was a child and for this to be in GOTG Vol 2 is just amazing! Hell of a way to kick off volume 2 with this happy catchy classic! "Mr. Blue Sky" is a song by British rock group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), featured on the band's seventh studio album Out of the Blue (1977). Written and produced by frontman Jeff Lynne, the song forms the fourth and final track of the "Concerto for a Rainy Day" suite, on side three of the original double album. "Mr. Blue Sky" was the second single to be taken from Out of the Blue, peaking at number 6 in the UK Singles Chart and number 35 in the United States. The song was played as a wake-up call to astronaut Christopher Ferguson on Day 3 of STS-135, the final mission of Space Shuttle Atlantis.

The intro song for volume 1 such a fun memorable scene especially when Star Lord pick up the little dinosaur like creature and uses it as a microphone. Really catchy fun song, i have listened to it loads since my first showing of vol 1. "Come and Get Your Love" is a 1974 hit single by the Native American rock band Redbone. The song was written by band member Lolly Vegas and produced by Lolly and his brother Pat Vegas, who was also a band member. It was originally featured on Redbone's 1973 album, Wovoka; later the song appeared on many "greatest hits" albums released by the band, as well as on numerous compilation albums of the 1970s. The song peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April 1974. It spent 18 weeks in the Top 40 and landed as the 4th most popular song on the Hot 100 for 1974. The single was certified gold by the RIAA on April 22, 1974, which indicates that it had sold over half a million copies in the United States. The song is Redbone's highest charting single and one of two Top 40 hits by the band (an earlier recording, "The Witch Queen of New Orleans", peaked at number 21 in 1972).

Could there be any other number one? This is the one which started it all. Appearing in all the trailers and getting most publicity and air time during the films release and what not. A instant classic one which has been listened to countless time and is a hard one to get out of your head as it's so catchy. Hooked on a Feeling" is a 1968 pop song written by Mark James and originally performed by B. J. Thomas. Thomas's version featured the sound of the electric sitar, and reached number five in 1969 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Blue Swede version made singer Björn Skifs' "Ooga- Ooga- Ooga- Chacka" intro well known (and famous in Sweden at the time), however that intro was originally introduced by British musician Jonathan King in 1971.

List over, let's dance!
MOVIE FACT TIME:
After years of being labeled as "potential flop," Marvel Studio’s Guardians of the Galaxy emerged as the biggest Hollywood phenomenon of 2014 when it was released. ADAM SANDLER AND JIM CARREY WERE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE OF ROCKET! Gary Oldman, Viggo Mortensen, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Plummer, Max von Sydow, and Liam Neeson were considered for the role of Ego. Dave Bautista's Drax makeup took only 90 minutes to apply, down from four hours for the first film. However, he would have to sit in a sauna at the end of the day to get the makeup off.

That's it my guardians, please comment, like etc. Suggest other lists for me to cover.

Hope you liked this list.

That's all from me so please go out and go guard the galaxy ;)

Top 10 Video Game Tracks

1UP yourself because you have a new life from a new list that i have just made for you all.

The list of my top 10 favourite video game tracks!

This list is compiled from original sound track songs and others. To hear the songs do click on the titles of said song as they will bring you to the song page on youtube for your viewing/listening pleasure.

Added bonus i will either also include a fact about the song or game it is in.

RULES: 1 SONG PER GAME FRANCHISE! No this and this from gta vice city and san andreas. You know? This will make it more challenging.

It's the music that we choose, that kicks off this list. Weird to kick this off with a remixed song and a old football game but it was this song that made this game so memorable for me and i had such fun times tackling everyone and anyone even the freakin goalie haha. I was a liverpool football fan for many a years and this one was my fave and the last footie i played until Fifa 13 madly enough. This was probably the first game i played with another player that's a fun fact for you all because i have not been able to pick up any fun facts from this game online as of writing so my own facts will have to do.

Might have been the first song i ever played on a guitar hero game. My good friend Lewis Griffiths first introduced me to this band and game. Hell of a game. Never played anything like it before and i remember begging my parents for the game for ages until i finally had it for my birthday haha. According to Activision, Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock is the best-selling video game of 2007, both in terms of units sold and revenue earned, and that it is the first single retail video game to exceed one billion dollars in sales. Recognising the game's popularity, Guinness World Records created a category for the Highest Score for a Single Song on Guitar Hero III: Legends of Rock in its Gamer's Edition, using the song "Through the Fire and Flames", noted as the most difficult song in the game. The record has been traded back and forth between Chris Chike, who also won the 2008 Play N Trade National Guitar Hero III Tournament, and Danny Johnson, the present holder of the record.

Do you guys feel like a monster? You will upon hearing this classic! For the first time in the series, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2010 implements the Havok game engine. The software was used in the game to improve collision detection. It is also the last game to feature ECW in its title. The soundtrack is more memorable than the game for me but the game at the time was pretty neat but looking back on it and replaying it, it was ok. The menu being in a ring able to play about was really cool to figure out all controls to before getting it on in the ring. The soundtrack featured another Skillet song which was Hero another fave of mine. The game introduced me to one of my fave all time bands Skillet of course. What else was on the soundtrack? Oh well CLICK HERE to hear it! Man the road to wrestlemania original stories produced for the game were amazing too!

Such a catchy up beat song. Always makes me happy and manages to get me to sing along with my hand displaying a peace sign and with my tongue sticking out i rock my sack out....no not that sack. Dirty minded fools of a took! The series follows the adventures of Sackboy and has a large emphasis on gameplay rather than being story-driven. All of the games in the series put a strong emphasis on user-generated content and are based on the series' tagline "Play, Create, Share". The tagline represents the three core elements of the series; Playing alone or with others online or on the same console, creating new content using the in-game creation tools and sharing creations and discoveries online with other players. Most of the games in the series have been well received by critics with the LittleBigPlanet on PlayStation 3 and PlayStation Portable gaining Metacritic scores of 95/100 and 87/100 respectively. LittleBigPlanet 2 garnered nearly as much acclaim as the first game with an average score of 91/100. LittleBigPlanet PS Vita also received very positive reviews and was the highest-ranked PS Vita game at the time of its release with an average score of 88/100. However, the release of LittleBigPlanet 3, the first game not by Media Molecule, did not receive critical acclaim, garnering a mostly positive average of 79/100.[28] Critically, LittleBigPlanet Karting is the worst-performing major game in the series so far but still gained a "mixed or average" Metacritic score of 74/100. However, the mobile game Run Sackboy! Run! performed worse, with a Metacritic score of 65/100.

HO AH HUH! Spanish Steve, Spanish Steve, Si is here. Or something or other that goes the lyrics. The song is sung by 30 people 3 times, so that 90 voices are heard on the final track. The voice of Paarthanax also voices Mario weird as hell fact for you. On February 18th 2011, Bethesda opened a challenge to deliver a baby on Skyrim's release date, November 11th 2011, and name the child "Dovahkiin". The winners, Megan and Eric Kellermeyer, named their newborn son Dovahkiin Tom Kellermeyer when he was delivered on that date. In return they were given a Steam key that granted them access to every Bethesda Softworks game made, including all future releases. Skyrim received critical acclaim upon release. The removal of the character class system, present in previous The Elder Scrolls entries, was well received. Billy Shibley of Machinima's Inside Gaming and Charles Onyett of IGN praised its removal because it allowed players to experiment with different skills without having to make decisions about a class early in the game. The art style of the game world drew acclaim from many reviewers, who welcomed the departure from Oblivion's Cyrodiil. Jason Schreier of Wired described the land of Skyrim as a "Viking-inspired treasure trove of flavor and charm", noting its contrast to Cyrodiil, which he considered generic by comparison. Reviewers welcomed the ability to dual-wield weapons and magic. Within two days of the game's launch, 3.4 million physical copies were sold. Of those sales, 59% were for the Xbox 360, 27% for the PS3, and 14% for the PC. I only played skyrim for just a week and i did not end up completing the main story but i did enjoy the game and this theme is a modern classic everyone knows.

Oh oh oh woah oh oh woah oh......hell of a number 5 don't you think Spartans? The song features a wide range of musical styles, including chanting, string orchestra, and percussion. For Halo 2, the song was remixed into the MJOLNIR Mix. The basics of the song remained the same, but it featured electric guitar overlays by guitarist Steve Vai. On its release Halo broke sales records; by April 8, 2002, a little under five months after its release, one million units had been sold: this pace was faster than that of any previous sixth-generation console game. The game received numerous Game of the Year awards, including those of the Academy of Interactive Arts & Sciences, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Edge, and IGN.The British Academy of Film and Television Arts awarded Halo "Best Console Game," and Rolling Stone presented it with their "Best Original Soundtrack" award. According to Xbox.com, the game received a total of 48 awards. Halo had never been planned as a trilogy, but with the critical and commercial success of Combat Evolved, a sequel was expected. First halo game i played was Halo 3 and my my my what a delightahh. First-day sales of Halo 3 reached $170 million in the U.S., setting a record for highest gross of an entertainment product within 24 hours of its release.

SHAMOAN AH! HE HE! If it was not for this game i would not have gotten into so many classic songs and bands and artist's. First time i heard a Jacko song was from this game. Tommy Vercetti is heavily based on Tony Montana from the film Scarface. They both end up in exile, both rise to power in Miami using great amounts of violence, both build an empire from a large estate and mansion, both have short tempers and are prone to violence, both work as contract killers, and both killed their collaborators and took their ex-bosses' empires, and both engage in a battle with large groups of assassins at the end of their stories. However, Tommy survives his final gunfight with his enemies, while Tony is killed. Even the mansions in the games are similar.

OHHH YEAAAH BOIII THIS IS MAH JAM! Budokai 3 was given much higher reviews than its predecessors Budokai and Budokai 2 according to Metacritic. This was often due to how critics felt that the game did more to improve its gameplay rather than just its graphics and presentation. Its fighting and graphics have also been praised, with IGN stating that Budokai 3 was "One of the few instances of cel-shading done right", and that it "also offers a healthy amount of special effects and pyrotechnics and they all look great." The game's story mode yet again plays through the events of the Dragon Ball Z timeline, and the game includes several characters and events from the Dragon Ball Z movies (like Cooler, Broly and Bardock), Dragon Ball GT (like Super Saiyan 4 and Omega Shenron), and the original Dragon Ball series itself (Kid Goku). Other features the game includes are a versus mode, an items shop, a tournament, and a battle ranking stage where the player has to challenge the AI in a hundred fighter challenge. Moving a spot above after beating who ever is next in the ranking. The fighting mechanics have also been enhanced from the preceding 2 games making the game closer to its anime counterpart in terms of combat (which was well received by fans of the series and gamers alike). Budokai 3 has a roster of 42 playable characters. I had this game day 1 of release and skipped school to play it all day and that's what i did and i played this religiously for days, weeks, months, years frankly. I had also suffered a gaming injury playing this game i had blistered my whole hands due to wiggling the analogue sticks so much.

WOAH A BATTLE HAS JUST OPENED UP IN HERE! MAKE SOME ROOM! The first time hearing this music i was like "wah?! what is happening? you doing me a frighten m8! Oh pokemon wants a fight me eh? Bring it!" haha. This game is at the center of countless Creepypasta stories is the already surprisingly dark Lavender Town. One myth, in particular, that frightened the internet as a whole is the tale behind numerous reported child suicides taking place in 1996, aka the same year that Pokémon Red and Green (as it was initially titled in its home country) were released in Japan. There are several different variations of this story floating around, but generally, it involves the musical theme of Lavender Town containing harmful frequencies that specifically target adolescents, and, according to the legend, drove a number of children to take their own lives. While the story is, of course, fictitious, it is certainly creepy. As alluded to earlier, Pokémon is an inspiration for countless stories like this, all documented and just a few clicks away. Lavender Town is a perfect inspiration for many of these stories, considering the fact that it is an already dark setting within an otherwise lighthearted children’s game.

So many classic songs i could have picked from this era of games but Mario just stuck to mind. Super mario bros theme is just an instant classic. This theme took the longest of the six tracks of Super Mario Bros. to compose, according to its composer Koji Kondo. He stated that he would write one piece, and the team would put it in the game. If it did not accentuate the action, did not time up with Mario running and jumping, or did not harmonise with the sound effects well enough, he would scrap it. The first theme he made for Super Mario Bros. was based on an early prototype of the game, which simply showed Mario running around a big empty area. Kondo described this early theme as a bit lazier, slower tempo, and more laid back. As the game underwent changes, he realised that his theme no longer fit, so he increased the pace and changed it around to fit better. The first handheld game i ever played was mario it was so simple so fun and also real annoying at times but this song is so cheery and hyper i love it, such a classic as i said.

Ok that will be all for today, i thank you for visiting my blog page as ever and for reading this list.

Comment your top 10 fave video game tracks!

Top 10 Metal Songs!

What is up metallic nation?

Hope you are well and oiled ready to take your circuits for a spin in the mosh pit as today i am going to be listing my top 10 fave metal songs. This list was suggested by James Davie so a big shoutout and thanks to him.

What comes to mind when i say metal? Music? Actual metal? Aggressive vocals? Screeching guitars with amps turned up to 11? Long hair? All black clothing?

Well what ever it is, this list is all about the metal music that is guaranteed to get you reacting either by moshing or maybe saying "well not bad but this song should have been in here" whatever it maybe or hell you could leave a comment saying "keep port talbot steelworks open!" and that is still valid to say so yeah, no matter what pops to mind do comment below at anytime and read on and enjoy :)

RULES: One song per band....god i like to make my list's tough huh? lol.

Funny enough when i think of metal it's normally all of these on the list that pop to mind first of all. Will post my opinion of the song, a link to the song and facts about the song.

10: Breaking The Law - Judas Priest
Da da da da da da dada BREAKING THE LAW BREAKING THE LAW! At number 10 Judas rides in past the speed limit with this classic. You are guaranteed to know this from the starting riff and chorus and if you don't well you are BREAKING THE LAW, BREAKING THE LAW, BREAKING THE LAW! The lyrics tell of someone who gets tired of everything that comes with an ordinary life - that life has become boring. This leads the person to take a chance and start breaking the law. The song has left its mark in many places in popular culture. It was ranked #40 on VH1's 40 Greatest Metal songs list. Beavis and Butthead used to sing the song when they did something knowingly illegal. It's been used in some TV commercials, and in movies like Scarface: The World Is Yours. It's also appeared in The Simpsons.

9: Holy Diver - Dio
Another classic you are bound to know. If not for the Dio version then perhaps the Killswitch version. Both i love. Dio did it first however and it is a very iconic piece of music. Hmm mmm yeaah yeeah HOLY DIVAH! What is becoming of you? This song is about Satan, and his descent to Hell (his "dive"). The lyrics deal specifically with Revelations 12:9 where Satan was cast to the earth. The tiger is symbolic of the wild beast that comes out of the sea, as mentioned in Revelations 13:1. In June 2009, Dio told the NME: "'Holy Diver' is the metal tune that will not die. For some reason, that album and the song really hit a chord with people. Killswitch Engage did a version of it and I saw them do it at a festival recently where the reaction to their version was wonderful. But it's not something that gets resurrected every once in a while, it's just always there. I guess it's because good songs always work. What usually happens when people in bands meet me for the first time and they're fans is that they'll sing [adopts a self-mocking high pitched voice] 'Hoooly Diiiiiver' at me! It happens all the time and it's very touching."

8: Halo - Machine Head
Now many overlook this when it comes to best metal songs for me this one is a modern masterpiece. Such a great track. Rob Flynn says:"This is basically an anti-religion song, about the stuff that's been going on in America like them trying to make abortions illegal again. It's a halo over our demise". This is about how America, though supposedly a country of freedom, is still under the strangelhold of Christianity, as evidenced with the recent abortion debates. This song reflects exactly how I feel about religion and America - that society is still under it's grasp, no matter how progressive we claim to be. It's a sad, epic call for freedom from the chains of Christianity.

7: Before I Forget - Slipknot
For many metal fans this was one of the songs that got them into slipknot and metal too. Corey Taylor's lyrics are open to interpretation, which is how he likes it. This song deals with evolution and the nature of man. In 2006, this won a Grammy Award for Best Metal Performance. This was Slipknot's first Grammy - they were nominated for the award six years in a row before finally winning. The beeping at the end of the song is Morse code, which spells out the word "Slipknot." Slipknot rarely appear without their masks, but they do in this video, although only tight shots of their faces are seen.

6: Down with the Sickness - Disturbed
Everyone know's this for the iconic unforgettable primal vocals of Draiman. "OH WAH AH AH AH!" This is about how society treats people who are "different." A lot of people think they are "sick" and "wrong" and want nothing to do with them. In the middle of the song, David acts out a skit where he is being abused by his mother (not in the radio version). Finally, he builds up enough courage and hits her right back. This is used to symbolise how "mother society" abuses "her" children for not being the way "she" thinks they should. "She" keeps doing it until "her" children get sick of it and are so angry with her and themselves they go out and get revenge for it, most likely by killing the people that hurt them ("here it comes, get ready to die!") A good example of this would be the school shootings that go on around the country.

5: Walk - Pantera
One of my personal favourites and it kicks major ass bro so of course it is on this list. The main riff was written while the band was warming up for a show on guitarist Dimebag Darrell's practice amp when Phil Anselmo shouted, "We gotta write some s--t for this new album." Dime immediately started playing the opening riff, and Vinnie tapped the drums on the wall. They were filming for the home video and caught it all on tape to remember the riff. When Pantera first found success, they found their pals were treating them a little different as they thought the fame had gone to their heads. Frontman Phil Anselmo explained to Kerrang: "I wrote this when Pantera were first getting a lot of attention. I came back from touring and my friends had taken it upon themselves to think that I'd changed as a person into this big rockstar. 'Walk' was me telling them to shove that attitude up their ass."

4: Hallowed Be Thy Name - Iron Maiden
Here's an amazing piece of music. This song is about a man who is on death row and about to be executed, it is from the perspective of that man. Pure genius metal lyrics, incredible riffs, and the godly voice of Bruce Dickinson makes this song the greatest metal song of all time. It practically defines metal. I thank you Iron Maiden for creating this masterpiece.

3: One - Metallica
Such a tune! This song is about a soldier fighting in a war and a mortar blows off in his face. He can't hear, see, smell, taste and he doesn't have arms or legs. He comes out of a coma in a hospital. During the time he is in the hospital he reflects on his life and things his father told him. Eventually the doctors get worried because he's having spasms all the time, but he doesn't seem to be dying. They call in the general and he can't figure it out either but the soldier with the general recognise it. "Its Morse code," he says. The general asks what he is saying and the soldier looks for a minute and then says, "He is saying K-I-L-L- M-E over and over again. The lyrics are based on the novel Johnny Got His Gun by Dalton Trumbo, which is about World War I. This was the first video Metallica made, and it expanded their fan base by giving them a presence on MTV.

2: Iron Man - Black Sabbath
Now come on everyone know's this one and this is here for so many good reasons of course. There’s a well-thumbed story that the Black Sabbath song Iron Manwas inspired by the Marvel Comics character of the same name. But it’s not true. Although Marvel had established that superhero in 1963, Sabbath bassist Geezer Butler, who wrote the lyrics for the iconic song, had never even heard of him in 1970. The idea for the song (which first appeared on the second Sabbath album, Paranoid, released in 1970), actually started with Ozzy Osbourne. Geezer - “I can’t exactly recall what Ozzy said, but it was something like: ‘Why don’t we do a song called Iron Man, or maybe Iron Bloke’. That got me thinking about a lump of metal, and then putting it all into a science-fiction context. It all flowed from there. The storyline – a self-fulfilment prophecy, mixed up with time travel – is actually quite complex. It’s about a man who goes into the future and witnesses the apocalypse. Going back to his own time, he encounters a rogue magnetic field, which turns him into a mute, steel creature. Unable to talk, he still tries to warn people about the impending end of the world, but is only mocked for his troubles. Angry and bitter, he eventually causes the devastation he’d warned everyone about. Ultimately the would-be hero becomes the villain."

1: Ace Of Spades - Motorhead
Everyone know's this one. You probably called this at number one too. Everyone from your dog to your great nana knows and likes this one. Ace of Spades’ is rated as one of the greatest rock and metal songs ever made and has seeped into popular culture, becoming the default music to represent anarchic mayhem on endless TV shows and movies. The gambling references are a metaphor for a hard-living, wreckless lifestyle; biking, drinking, drugs, fighting, etc. He knows that it will do him in eventually, that he'll eventually be dealt the "Ace of Spades" (the death card,) but that's the way he likes it; die with your boots on and all that. The "Ace Of Spades" is the dead man's hand, which was Wild Bill Hancock's hand as he was shot dead (he was an American sheriff who was killed during a game of poker). The hand consists of aces and eights, including the ace of spades.

Alright that completes my list. Remember this is just my thoughts on my personal fave top 10 metal songs and is not the true defining list of the top 10 metal songs.

Lewis's Metal Questionnaire Answered!

1: What does rock/metal mean to you? How important is it and why?

A: It means escape from reality like any music really but metal and rock music is more real and i have more of a connection with more than any other genre and i have also been raised around people who listen to rock and metal so my love for the genre goes deep. There's so many sub genre's out there as well that means that people will find something they will like guaranteed. Metal has the power, the ferocity, amazing technical arrangements of instrumentals and vocals and there's always powerful lyrics out there that will fire you up with passion to stand up on the edge of your seat and sing your heart out not only that but there's music and lyrics out there from metal bands that will easily shock people in the mainstream audience since most perceive metal as being "screaming" and "aggressive sounds" when granted that is apart of it but it's never contained in every single song produced from the metal genre. There's meaningful lyrics and songwriting there in metal too, there's songs for all occasions some you will pump you full of energy, some will make you cry, some will make you think, some you will understand when sad, some you will understand when you happy etc it never ends just the amount of songs there are for all your emotions. Metal music is so unbelievably helpful to pump you up for a work out in a gym or pump you up for anything to be honest but that's just what i think.

2: Do you think fashion plays a big role in rock/metal culture? What are your personal opinions and why?

A: It's role of fashion is so so as you have those who go all out and deck in black or paint up faces to signify the corpse paint for their black metal loving appreciation and style of what is said to be a love for the silent era films back in the day and just a homage to death and to show the persons facial features more highlighted if it makes sense. Most metal and rock fans just look like anyone else really the fashion is to have black shirt with a band logo on it primarily. You also have people who own and decorate their own denim jackets with band patches and other patches. Some prefer to go in for the spiked role which is mainly associated with the punk rock genre. People have also been customising their clothing from 70's as well so the style has always changed. Besides clothing you have hair and body modifications in the form of tattoo's, piercings and dread locks or Mohawks and many other hair styles. A lot of the fashion style or trends have changed as you can expect from the past 40 years or so and a lot of it's style in terms of it's origin's is borrowed from the biker fashion style. I have a lot of band shirts and i own a denim jacket of which i decorate with my fave band patches on it and i don't have piercings but i have tattoo's my hair style is nothing flamboyant either just a standard style i'd say as hairstyles don't really matter nor having tattoo's or not for loving a certain type of music or band as tattoo's just show passion and how much something means to you that you'd have it symbolised on your body for life. I wear band shirts for mainly same reasons as getting a tattoo i appreciate and love that band so i choose to wear their design on me.

3: What are your personal opinions on pop culture icons + celebs sporting metal clothing such as band shirts? (Think Bieber, Kardashians etc) How does it make you feel and why?

A: My opinion on the current pop culture icons are that it's all just fake and just manufactured to promote what companies know sells and that is sex primarily. With a huge amount of modern pop videos all having fake scantily clad women just "twerk" their ways around the camera with un-meaningful boring generic music. As for celeb's and these popstars being photographed in band shirts i do think a lot of them perceive the band shirts to be a clothing brand and that they like the logo on the shirt and think "yeah that's nice and it's cheap so i'll get this" sometimes i think they do it to get people talking about them and not to be able to recognise them in a way since you know it would be strange to see i don't know Miley Cyrus just walk into B&Q ogling over sledgehammers in corpse paint with a machine head blackening shirt on as it would be most absurd. So this does make me annoyed but i do also have to question "what if these celebs like that band?" of course how are people supposed to know if they do like that band or not, i don't remember any of them claiming to like them so the communities just judge and dislike them further for that.

4: What do you think about fashion brands adopting metal fonts/iconography to create their own rock/metal inspired styles and why?

A: If a metal band has their own clothing brand it's cool but it's almost like someone ripping designs of trying to make it their own if a pop or rap star like Kanye West using Metallica's classic font style to be recreated and used as Kanye's Yeezus. I get it if they appreciate or are inspired by the music but besides that i see it as the brands capitalising on such a iconic design that sells that's all i think about it.

5: Is your own sense of personal style important to you and why? Is your personal style a direct reflection of your taste in music or sub-cultural style?

A: My style is it's own really, i occasionally dress in band shirts and denim jackets and jeans or black trousers with boots or strut out with smart casual clothes but of course i would say it's a reflection of my tastes in music as well as what ever i think looks good.

6: What do you think about the concept of authenticity in music and fashion? Think ‘posers’, what defines this term?

A: A poser is your typical person who attempts to blend into a specific social group same goes for hipsters really. Hipsters tend to follow the latest trends and fashions, especially those regarded as being outside the cultural mainstream. The authenticity of fashion with music is with each music genre there is a clothing trend of which will defy the listeners if they you know fit in with those clothing types i think. The origins of clothing types when it comes to music are always just borrowed recycled and made their own more or less also.

7: How would you feel about mainstream fashion retailers including more rock/metal inspired fashion collections within their stores? How do you think the general rock/metal fan base would react to this, and do you think the style should remain separate?

A: Mainstream fashion retailers already have rock and metal band shirts in stores which the dedicated fanbase's do hate. Despite there being backlash of hate from metal communities it does display band merch in places easier to find and purchase so i'd say that's a positive but of course with the world all online is there a need for it to be found in stores when it's easier to find access and purchase online? So overall i feel mixed stores having band merch in stock but i'd like them to remain separate to purchase online too.

8: Do well do you think the fashion industry represents rock/metal style? Do you think there are enough rock and metal brands around, and what do you think would be the best way to promote them to an authentic rock/metal fanbase?

A: Yes there's plenty of bands around and i feel the fashion industry turns it eye as far as i can see when it comes to rock and metal style clothing but when they do have designs and they put them on display on models to walk the cat walk i do see them being an eye sore as normally the designers and the models make them look boring and generic for the most part. Best way to promote is having bands and music videos from bands with people in these clothes as it will make people watch an interview or music video or look at photos of the band and will just make them say "oh that looks nice i want it" and that then causes them to google what it is but also they need to list the product name and details so fans can go track the clothing down online and buy.

9: Thinking about the concept of authenticity within rock/metal culture, what do you personally think about parody bands such as Steel Panther? Do you think their brand is too mocking of rock/metal music, or just a bit of fun and why?

A: Steel Panther is a bit of fun and a throwback parody of the stereotypical lifestyles of 1980's glam metal bands. I think what they do is in good taste and is obviously nothing to take seriously but of course there's people who will and have taken offence to their music and style and of the things they do when performing live or the things they do in music videos but you know it's not hurting anyone physically is it so i don't get the point in reporting their stuff to get taken down or banned. I don't mind steel panther i have seen them live and i love their debut album but you know i'm not a fully dedicated fan to them as i'd say i am a casual listener to them. Seeing them live was as you can imagine crude and out there to say the least but they were disappointing live when i seen them since they had a good 5 min or so breaks during a few songs to talk random rubbish about doing this or this or that girl in the audience and it was painfully unfunny i found. So to back track Steel Panther are just a bit of fun really.

10: Back in the day (70’s/80’s/90’s) self-customisation of clothing was key to rock/metal fashion. How do you feel about this, and is this still practised today, do you think promoting this would be an effective way to get the rock/metal fanbase interested in fashion? (think fast fashion, does this take away from the authenticity of traditional rock/metal fashion?)

A: I have no problems with it and think it's cool and i have done a little bit myself, it's still practised today the art of customisation to clothing for rock and metal. As i mentioned earlier i have a denim jacket of which i have sown on band logo's i love and it's quite a lovely jacket almost a piece of art. Thing about metal community is we all have our own fashion and idea of fashion which normally involved black trousers, chains, long hair, black shirts with band logo on it,denim jacket with band logo patches sown on and then heavy boots quite frankly that is the fashion sense of a typical metal head and it's optional to add in wrist bands of spiked or non spiked variety and bandanna's as well. I think it's promotion is self promotion people normally see someone do it and just copy it or a band member do it and so on. I don't really think metal communities have a fast fashion trend and i don't think it hurts to not have one.

Thank You Undertaker - A Tribute To The Phenom! By Scott Jones

It happened....the unthinkable....Undertaker lost at Wrestlemania again and to Roman Reigns of all people but not only that BUT, Taker also removed a lot of his gear, his gloves, hat, coat and left them in the centre of the ring. This signalled one thing....the retirement of the dead man.

Going into Mania 33 i was confident Taker would slay the Roman Empire. I said i would give up WWE if Roman beat Taker and when Taker retires....i also said Cena will be the one to retire Taker.....I was wrong about Cena being the one to retire Taker. As for not watching WWE i do feel like this was it. The last time i should watch this ageing stale product that we have gotten over the past decade.

This blog post i am dedicating entirely to The Undertaker and will be talking or rather writing about his accomplishments and career history and will be linking and providing pics for you to browse and watch and just remember fondly and enjoy as Taker is my all time fave wrestler so i have to dedicate a whole blog post just to him in his retirement because he is worthy of it and it is really fitting and i hope this post serves as a good tribute to him.

BUT SCOTT.... WHAT IF....this is not the end of Undertaker completely.....WHAT IF.....this is the end of The Deadman Gimmick? WELL i don't know at the moment all signs in this universe point to "The End" so i have to just go with it. IF thing's change and HE DOES comeback well i shall be eternally happy and UPDATE this post but for now THIS IS IT, SO READ ON!

The Undertaker made his debut at WWF Survivor Series 1990. He made his WrestleMania debut at WrestleMania VII, quickly defeating "Superfly" Jimmy Snuka. He is often highly praised as being the most respectful/respected wrestler ever. Wrestler Big Show named The Undertaker as the greatest professional wrestler of all time, while Mark Henry and WWE chairman Vince McMahon have called him their favorite. WWE Hall of Famer and company executive, Jim Ross, said: "Without question, The Undertaker is the greatest big man in the history of wrestling. There is no greater WWE star ever than The Undertaker".

Guinness World Records Gamer's Edition mentioned Undertaker as having the most consecutive victories at WrestleMania. In November 2015, Telegraph journalist Tom Fordy called The Undertaker "the world's greatest sportsman". As of 2017, The Undertaker became the first and only wrestler to remain in the WWE since 1990, expanding a 25-plus-year career within the company. Calaway has appeared on 61 different pay-per-view posters, which, as of 2015, is the highest of any WWE superstar. He has had many changes in his persona over the year's from deadman to lord of darkness, american badass, big evil and finally back to being the deadman.

I looked up Taker's match statistics and here is how it all shapes up.

Total number of matches: 2275
Total number of wins: 1717 (75.5%)
Total number of losses: 467 (20.5%)
Total number of draws: 91 (4.0%)

The years he won the most matches in was 1993 and 1996 with that number being 144 Wins out of 160 matches in those years. 1991 he had the most matches with 189. Most losses in a year is also 1991 with the number of losses being 85.

WWF Tag Team Championship (6 times) – with Stone Cold Steve Austin (1), Big Show (2), The Rock (1) and Kane (2)
As you can see or know not all of his tag titles were won thanks to brotherly love. Taker had many alliances in his career.

He started with Ted DiBiase with Brother Love.

He eventually went with his longest serving manager Paul Bearer and the duo were to be feared and have also turned against each other many times but Paul is Taker's most well known and loved manager.
Taker has also joined with Vince McMahon and had his own stable called the ministry of darkness which consisted of Bradshaw, Faarooq, Mideon, Viscera, Gangrel, Edge & Christian.

Seen the IT 2017 trailer two times and i think it looks way scarier than the Tim Curry film. Would not like to see the spider scene though haha. The trailer is slaying all across the internet, shattering records along the way. We’ve just learned that IT‘s trailer has broken all online global traffic records with 197 million views in the first 24 hours; the previous record holder was The Fate of the Furious, which had 139 million views in 24 hours. To date, the IT trailer has now reached 246 million views!

WOS wrestling returns to ITV on Saturday afternoons this summer!

Mad Catz Files For Bankruptcy which sucks they make great gaming accessories and its a shame to see this happen to them and i wish them all well there.

#WorstSongsToPlayAtAFuneral Ghostbusters theme

Got rekt in #Xcom2 i now must bow to our new alien overlords. Oh well. Its a great game but hard as hell. I hate it when soldiers miss easy shots. #Xcom2 is full of long loading screens and contains many glitches and bugs which may and can crash your game. #Xcom2 Autosave is your best friend. Save load save load save load. #Xcom2 timed missions are the worse! Try to not panic too much. Remember this is a trial and error game. Men will die in the game. I am not a expert on #Xcom2 but just felt like offering general advice on the game. New players beware. Great game but tough. 7/10

The lack luster Mass Effect Andromeda has arrived and yes it's quite the disappointment which i called when i first seen the reveal of it not to brag lol.

Got a lovely new job in which i am enjoying so much with a local cinema chain.

Bat In The Sun used to be a really cool channel and network to follow but it's all gone down the drain now. Unsubbed and Unfollowed them not that anyone cares....

QUICK MOVIE REVIEWS!

Beauty and the beast (2017) 4/10
It should have been way better. Beast sucked! Belle was ok. Gaston and Lafeu were amazing. Luke Evans and Josh Gad were the best thing about this film!

Power Rangers (2017) 8/10

Ghost in the shell (2017) 7/10
The best anime live action film yet. Really good. I had previously seen the animated movie and I couldn't get into it but this was easy to follow and it had some great action and visual scenes. Really liked it and yeah liked it over the animated film easy. When I say best anime live action I mean all others before this that I have seen have been terrible like deathnote and attack on titan and that non existent dragonball film

Warcraft Movie 6/10
I liked it, i thought it was good. CGI is up there with the best defo. Story was not all that.

Hacksaw Ridge 8/10
Fantastic story and i would say is the most gritty realistic war film i have ever seen! Such a great diverse cast! Loved it!
