The 10 Best Guardians Of The Galaxy Tracks

What's up metallic nation? Hope you are well!

I went to the midnight release showing of Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2 Thursday night 27th April and it is pretty amazing, a solid 8 out of 10 from me. Had a lot to live up to some of it was a bit out of place or all over the place or rushed in ways but it was funny and highly enjoyable.

To celebrate one of the most anticipated blockbuster movies this year in Guardians Of The Galaxy Vol 2, i have decided to look over the first and second film's soundtracks and list the 10 best!

CLICK TO BOOK TICKETS!

Now Tyler Bates who composes the original soundtrack music on both Guardians does a fantastic job but i am not going to be listing his 10 best from Guardians just the 10 best from the mix tapes.

I will add Vol 2 is relatively new to when this list is released so the tracks off vol 2 will need more time to grow into liking more so following seeing the film and this list will contain links to the song's and facts about the film or songs!

Altogether besides original soundtrack the songs used is 26 so let's get down and pick the best 10 so let's tuck in.

This one the team gears up for battle and it's so suiting and a great punk track to kick the list off with a ch ch ch ch cherry BOMB! "Cherry Bomb" is a 1976 punk-influenced hard rock single by the all-girl band The Runaways from their self-titled debut album. It is regarded by many as the band's signature song. "Cherry Bomb" was also ranked 52nd on VH1's 100 Greatest Hard Rock Songs.  It reached #1 on the Japanese chart and #106 on the U.S chart.

The first song from Vol 2 to appear in this list is from the amazing Fleetood Mac! Yes they are in vol 2 with their hit the chain which is a wicked song, really catchy and one to bop your head too and rock out to half way through and one easily recognisable for it is used a lot in Formula 1 shows. "The Chain" is a song by the British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac, released on their best-selling album Rumours. It is the only song from the album credited to all five members (Stevie Nicks, Lindsey Buckingham, Christine McVie, John McVie, and Mick Fleetwood); "The Chain" was created from combinations of several previously rejected materials, including solo work by Buckingham, Nicks and Christine McVie. It was assembled, often manually by splicing tapes with a razor blade, at the Record Plant in Sausalito, California, with hired engineers Ken Caillat and Richard Dashut. The BBC's Formula One coverage used the ending bass line as a theme tune from 1978 until the BBC's loss of TV rights to ITV Sport in 1997, thus making the song highly recognisable in the United Kingdom. On 29 March 2009 the song re-entered the UK Chart at #94 through downloads, following confirmation from the BBC that it would be reintroduced, the BBC having regained broadcasting rights from ITV. On 20 March 2011, "The Chain" peaked higher at #81 in the UK chart following a campaign on Facebook to try to get the song to number 1 for the start of the 2011 Formula One season. By November 2014, the song had been certified Silver by the British Phonographic Industry based on download sales alone, making it one of Fleetwood Mac's most successful songs in the UK.

A really lovely song here and a nice moment of peace as Gamora and Star lord take a break and dance out their sexual chemistry, great scene between the two in volume 1 and it's such a great song to boot. One that has stuck in my mind since my first GOTG 1 showing. "Fooled Around and Fell in Love" is a single written and performed by blues guitarist Elvin Bishop. It appeared on his 1975 album Struttin' My Stuff and was released as a single the following year. Bishop does not sing lead vocals on the track; feeling that his gravelly voice wouldn't do the song justice, he invited vocalist Mickey Thomas, who was a background singer in his band at the time, to sing it. The song peaked at #3 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart in May 1976. The song went on to become a gold record.

A classic many knew of before GOTG 1 but it's so peaceful and relaxing and really catchy seriously if you don't like Pina Colada's you will definitely be singing this one love them or hate them haha. "Escape (The Piña Colada Song)" is a song written and recorded by British-born American singer Rupert Holmes for his album Partners in Crime. As the lead single for the album, the pop song was recommended by Billboard for radio broadcasters on September 29, 1979, then added to prominent US radio playlists in October–November. Rising in popularity, the song peaked at the end of December to become the last US number one song of the 1970s. The song speaks, in three verses and three choruses, of a man who is bored with his current relationship because it has become routine and he desires some variety. One night, he reads the personal advertisements in the newspaper and spots an ad that catches his attention: a woman who is seeking a man who, among other little things, must like piña coladas. Intrigued, he takes out an ad in reply and arranges to meet the woman "at a bar called O'Malley's", only to find upon the meeting that the woman is actually his current partner. The song ends on an upbeat note, showing that the two lovers realised they have more in common than they had suspected, and that they do not have to look any further than each other for what they seek in a relationship.

A scene no one can forget in GOTG 1 with Baby Groot dancing and going still when Drax looks in his direction. This like the one above is a classic tune and many heard before the film but it's so good and used in such a great fun cute way with Groot in the end of the first volume. "I Want You Back" is a 1969 song by the Jackson 5 which became a number-one hit for the band and the Motown label in early 1970.  "I Want You Back" was ranked 121st on Rolling Stone's list of The 500 Greatest Songs of All Time.

Groot wanted to say hi or rather I am Groot....
Another new one from volume 2 and such a catchy one with it's chorus. I have never heard it prior to volume 2 but i wish i had, great song. I can't get the chorus out of my head though.....not a bad thing but it's just one i keep singing over and over lol. Silver was an American 1970s country rock band, best known for their 1976 pop hit "Wham Bam," written by country songwriter Rick Giles. It is ranked as the 70th biggest hit of 1976.

Now sadly i don't remember this playing in volume 2 movie but it was prominently played during all the commercials for guardians vol 2 and it's such a great catchy classic tune. "Fox on the Run" is a song by the British band Sweet, first recorded in 1974. It was Sweet's first single that was written by the band, rather than producers Nicky Chinn and Mike Chapman, and was their 14th single overall. The lyrics of the song are about groupies;"fox" being slang for an attractive woman.

Another iconic classic tune one which always gets me singing and dancing in a happy manner. Heard this song first when i was a child and for this to be in GOTG Vol 2 is just amazing! Hell of a way to kick off volume 2 with this happy catchy classic! "Mr. Blue Sky" is a song by British rock group Electric Light Orchestra (ELO), featured on the band's seventh studio album Out of the Blue (1977). Written and produced by frontman Jeff Lynne, the song forms the fourth and final track of the "Concerto for a Rainy Day" suite, on side three of the original double album. "Mr. Blue Sky" was the second single to be taken from Out of the Blue, peaking at number 6 in the UK Singles Chart and number 35 in the United States. The song was played as a wake-up call to astronaut Christopher Ferguson on Day 3 of STS-135, the final mission of Space Shuttle Atlantis.

The intro song for volume 1 such a fun memorable scene especially when Star Lord pick up the little dinosaur like creature and uses it as a microphone. Really catchy fun song, i have listened to it loads since my first showing of vol 1. "Come and Get Your Love" is a 1974 hit single by the Native American rock band Redbone. The song was written by band member Lolly Vegas and produced by Lolly and his brother Pat Vegas, who was also a band member. It was originally featured on Redbone's 1973 album, Wovoka; later the song appeared on many "greatest hits" albums released by the band, as well as on numerous compilation albums of the 1970s. The song peaked at number 5 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart in April 1974. It spent 18 weeks in the Top 40 and landed as the 4th most popular song on the Hot 100 for 1974. The single was certified gold by the RIAA on April 22, 1974, which indicates that it had sold over half a million copies in the United States. The song is Redbone's highest charting single and one of two Top 40 hits by the band (an earlier recording, "The Witch Queen of New Orleans", peaked at number 21 in 1972).

Could there be any other number one? This is the one which started it all. Appearing in all the trailers and getting most publicity and air time during the films release and what not. A instant classic one which has been listened to countless time and is a hard one to get out of your head as it's so catchy. Hooked on a Feeling" is a 1968 pop song written by Mark James and originally performed by B. J. Thomas. Thomas's version featured the sound of the electric sitar, and reached number five in 1969 on the Billboard Hot 100. The Blue Swede version made singer Björn Skifs' "Ooga- Ooga- Ooga- Chacka" intro well known (and famous in Sweden at the time), however that intro was originally introduced by British musician Jonathan King in 1971.

List over, let's dance!
MOVIE FACT TIME:
After years of being labeled as "potential flop," Marvel Studio’s Guardians of the Galaxy emerged as the biggest Hollywood phenomenon of 2014 when it was released. ADAM SANDLER AND JIM CARREY WERE SERIOUSLY CONSIDERED FOR THE ROLE OF ROCKET! Gary Oldman, Viggo Mortensen, Christoph Waltz, Christopher Plummer, Max von Sydow, and Liam Neeson were considered for the role of Ego. Dave Bautista's Drax makeup took only 90 minutes to apply, down from four hours for the first film. However, he would have to sit in a sauna at the end of the day to get the makeup off.

That's it my guardians, please comment, like etc. Suggest other lists for me to cover.

Hope you liked this list.

That's all from me so please go out and go guard the galaxy ;)
