An Interview With Caiman

Before Caiman's last match on Wednesday the 5th August 2026. I asked him for an interview....unfortunately for some reason unknown to me that it did not happen.

Here's how it should have gone down:,

Caiman, first of all thank you for allowing me this interview today.

For those who don't know the Crocodilian Psycho, tell us more about yourself and the man behind the character.

On August 5th, at Celtic Wrestling’s 100th and final show, The Big Bang 7, you’ll step into the ring for the final time. How does that feel emotionally?

Do you feel any extra pressure knowing this is both your final match and Celtic Wrestling’s final event?

When did you know it was time to step away?

What would the perfect ending look like for you?

Now, looking back on your career, What moment in your career are you proudest of?

Who has been your favourite opponent?

What is the hardest part of being a wrestler people don’t see?

Did wrestling turn out how you imagined when you started?

What sacrifices did you make for wrestling?

Who helped you most during your career?

What’s something you wish fans understood about you?

Is there anything you think you'll miss the most when you retire from in ring competition?

You have built such a strong lasting legacy for those in the UK scene and internationally. Recently I was speaking with WWE and TNA alumnus Mark Andrews, and he spoke very highly about the impact you and Celtic Wrestling had on the South Wales wrestling scene. Hearing things like that, what do you think your legacy is within Welsh wrestling and this company?

How do you want fans to remember you?

What do you hope younger wrestlers learned from you?

Is there one piece of advice you’d give someone starting wrestling today?

What do you think your legacy is in this scene and company?

Who is the hardest hitter you’ve faced?

Is there any funny backstage moments you would like to share?

Best crowd reaction you ever got?

What's the most painful bump you ever took?

When the bell rings for the final time, what do you think will go through your mind?

If you could speak to the younger version of yourself starting out in wrestling, what would you tell him?

Caiman, a pleasure as always thank you very much for your time. Thank you for everything you’ve done for Celtic Wrestling, Welsh wrestling, and everyone who’s shared a locker room with you.

It’s been an absolute pleasure. Much love and respect to you always, brother.

Thanks for reading and joining us today and remember to visit Clwb Crown Merthyr website or venue to get your tickets to One For The Road aka Celtic Wrestling: Big Bang 7

Check out - Scratch One Grub

If you are looking for some new metal music to kill it in the gym with or help you stay awake on your commute to or from work or just looking for that next headbanging, blood pumping, thrashing band then check out Scratch One Grub.
Formed in late 2023, these Welsh music prodigy's are looking to make waves into the South Wales music scene with the debut of their first single Bad Habit. You can check out their music video HERE!

Bad Habit the debut single hits us with melodic, synthy, metal with lyrics and vocals that can only be described as cross between Gojira meets Machine Head and the Synth electronic vibes then gives me a bit of Enter Shikari to it. It's all complimented nicely alongside eachother as the band mosh getting in our face while playing us their song in the music video. The song kicks off with a catchy riff and then proceeds with it's melodic synth and drum combination. While we get to the part the music slows down all while building itself back up we see a Rubiks solved in real time, can't say I've ever seen that in a music video before, then the guitar solo hits and that's a sexy solo. The spoken vocals near the end of the song are so groovy and gets your feet stomping, this is definitely a part crowd interaction will be thriving off. An epic first single, that makes me excited and leaves me wanting more. See you in the pit lads!

Speaking with band Member Lewis Griffiths he revealed to me that the band is made up of; Aled Trigg - Lead vocals. Alex Lewis - Guitar. Lewis Griffiths - Drums/vocals and Sean Barry - Synths/electronics. However the band are also hosting auditions at the moment for a lead guitarist and a bassist to join the group, so keep an eye out for the talented ones that make it through.

I've also been told that Scratch One Grub will bring us their second single in a couple of months time and to watch this space for the debut of their very first album! So the metal scene is looking bright with these lads making their impact and I'm excited for the future they bring us.
To follow Scratch One Grub on their journey, please give them a follow on their social media and check out their YouTube and Spotify for music and videos and more content coming soon.

Tips on interviewing others.

Back once again with some more tips, this may become a new feature here on my blogs which may transcend to the podcast and youtube realm later on but for now you have this :)

First off it really helps to find out more on who you are interviewing so study them, visit their social media accounts and see what you find and see and read.

Second you need to plan questions, i normally write out at least 10 and ask how many i see fit and you know in terms of with others you can ask the same questions but it always helps to spice things up and ask new and other questions too.

If you get stuck on what can you ask the person you are interviewing, its no crime to google some questions so do feel free to do it.

Adjust questions: By this i mean if you are talking to a company ask about business what are they doing for the community maybe, if its a band ask for their musical influences, if its a solo singer ask if they had any singing lessons. There is so much to ask it depends on who or what they are.

Try asking a question that can catch them out: Easier said than done this one, the standard questions like how are you or what got you into the business are all well and good  but the person on the other hand may have seen that coming and prepared for questions before the interview but would they ever see a question coming such as "Who ever said humpty dumpty was an egg?" coming towards them? I think not. Try make them laugh aswell.

Eye contact: This is a big one for anything at all in life. A tip i got told which is rather funny is look at the persons eyebrows because hey its eye level more or less and it does work.

Dress to impress but not to steal the show: Dress appropriate smart but casual. Let the person feel that you are laid back and things will be good.

Body language: Hard one here, remember how they told you to sit or stand in school STRAIGHT UP haha.

Recording: If you are recording the interview obviously make sure everything has memory and is charged.

Be polite.

Ok and that is basically everything covered i believe. Let me know if these tips help in anyway shape or form for you.

Remember study,be polite,stand/sit straight, dress casual but smart, have questions written out and some sneaky ones to catch them out on,look in the eyes or at the eyebrows. Adjust questions on the person or company you are interviewing, plan accordingly and make sure recording equipment is all in good order.

Thanks for reading, til next time, the god is out!
