I'm Doing Cosplay Right - (original lyrics - SJones)

A song I wrote about attending a UK comic con and cosplaying and entering the cosplay competition and just that whole experience in general. Nice, catchy, feel good energy in the song.

[Verse 1]

Hear the clock, crack of dawn, Got to get my cosplay on, Because today is the day,

Hate my job, love my wife, I have to get her something nice,

God, please help me win the cosplay comp-ay

[Pre-Chorus]

As you can see, I've spent a lot of money,

On foam and paint and plastic,

 And a helmet slightly funny

[Chorus]

I've spent every night making this right, I've spent every night making this right,

Let's get this armor to Comic-Con, I'm doing cosplay right

 Yeah, I'm doing cosplay right

[Verse 2]

Ten o'clock, right on time, This queue just blows my mind,

Hey there, look, there's that guy, Oh, how I love Background Guy Three,

 Why isn't that Sylvester McCoy?

Is that a Dalek singing YMCA?

[Pre-Chorus]

There's people around me, Asking to take a photo of me,

My cheeks are turning crimson, But I'm grinning proudly

[Chorus]

I've spent every night making this right, I've spent every night making this right,

Here's hoping nothing does go wrong,

I'm doing cosplay right Yeah, I'm doing cosplay right

[Verse 3]

Three o'clock, on the dot Time to be a superstar,

It's time for the cosplay competition, Here I go, strut my stuff,

Please let the shoulder pads stay up I'm ready for my big submission

[Pre-Chorus]

And I see, A sea of faces in front of me,

 The judges raise their clipboards,

And someone shouts, "Go, three!"

[Chorus]

I've spent every night making this right, I've spent every night making this right,

 Damn, do I love Comic-Con,

I'm doing cosplay right

Yeah, I'm doing cosplay right

[Bridge]

If the visor falls, I'll carry on If the boots split,

I'll still march on, Every crooked seam and glue-gun scar,

Got me exactly where we are

[Final Chorus]

I've spent every night making this right, I've spent every night making this right,

Let's get this armor to Comic-Con I'm doing cosplay right,

I've spent every night making this right,  I've spent every night making this right,

Win or lose, what a brilliant day,

 I'm doing cosplay right,

Yeah, I'm doing cosplay right

[Outro]

Comic-Con,

here we go Strike a pose and steal the show Comic-Con,

here we go I'm doing cosplay right!
