Buongiorno, how are we all today?
I know what you're thinking, hang about now Scott this can't be serious can it? It's true, I like more than one genre of music and yes this is a list about Swifty herself and yes i am unashamed to admit I do like her music and here's hoping I won't be killed for giving my opinion of my fave 10 songs by Taylor and for making and publishing this list here. (fingers crossed) :)
10: The Story Of Us
Kicking off the list is this sweet soft gem. Swift said that she came up with this song following an encounter with an ex at an awards show, at the event, the two attempted to ignore each other, which inspired Swift to compose the song. Swift shine's a lot more when she incorporates her country roots I feel and this is a nice example of it here.

9: We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together
I know what a weird contrast between 10 and 9 but hey this is one I know well from it being all over the radio and music channels and charts overall and hey it's catchy and it's always stuck in my head when thinking of Swift. It's the lead single launched from her Red album and tell's the tale of an ex lover of hers trying to re-kindle their past love but of course it does not work out like that. The song received a Grammy Award nomination for Record of the Year. It also received a People's Choice Awards nomination for Favourite Song of the Year back in 2012.

A beautiful song here, I always forget about this one and it's only when I have had a heavy Taylor spotify binge lately to come up with this list to remind myself that i know this one from years ago and that it was beautiful then and still is now. Taylor explained to MTV News: "This song is basically about wanting someone who is with this girl who doesn't appreciate him at all. Basically like 'girl-next-door-itis.' You like this guy who you have for your whole life, and you know him better than she does but somehow the popular girl gets the guy every time."
7: Shake It Off
Catchy beat and catchy pop lyrics this song is infectious no matter how many times you have heard it you will still love and sing it's chorus come on admit it haha. The song won Favourite Song at the 2015 People's Choice Awards, and also received nominations for Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Best Pop Solo Performance at the 2015 Grammy Awards. According to Billboard, it is Swift's biggest Hot 100 hit to date, staying on the chart for 50 consecutive weeks. Taylor talks about how you should more or less shake off that negativity in your life with this track. She wants us to know that she's cool being the only one dancing at the award show, and she doesn't care if anyone makes fun of her, because she knows she's awkward and wants to own it. She's just gonna bake, bake, bake, bake, bake and she's gonna do her and you should do you.

6: Blank Space
A song where Taylor embraces the media's portrayal of her love life and turns it on its head basically and she's been quoted as to saying the song has a lot of satire in it. It's one of Tay's catchy songs and that's pretty much why I like it and have inserted it here, it's one i have heard quite a bit and i still like because it's got a chill beat and is catchy to boot.

5: Enchanted
Taylor said this about the song; "I wrote "Enchanted" about a guy who I was enchanted to meet, obviously. He was somebody that I had talked to a couple of times on email, and then I was in New York and went to meet him. I remember just the whole way home thinking, "I hope he's not in love with somebody." It was just wonderful, that feeling. Like, "Oh my gosh. Who's he with? Does he like me? Does he like somebody else? What does it mean?" I got home and he had emailed me and said something like, "Sorry I was so quiet. I was just wonderstruck meeting you." And so I incorporated the word wonderstruck, into the song as a, "Hey this one's sorta for you." The song is about Adam Young. Apparently he sang the song back to her, adding her name to it and a few minor changes and here we are.

4: I Knew You Were Trouble
A meme made this even more famous and she apparently loves the meme but anyhoo, this one is about a relationship that she predicted is destined for failure but she goes for it anyway. It's a mixture of country pop and dubstep it's quite a unique sound and it's one that I have heard many times since it's release and still like pretty much.

3: Style
This one is often said to be about Harry Styles and sure I see that but it's more so just about a relationship that is in trouble. No matter how often the two fail to form a strong relationship, they continue to be "perfect for each other" in both of their imaginations. Based on their own preferences in the opposite gender, Swift believes they are perfectly matched; they like each other's "style" and they look good/work well together. Taylor has been quoted as saying this is her "secret fave" track on the 1989 album too.

Now this is a total hype track. Another 1989 track which proves 1989 is one of Taylor's best albums to date am i right? Taylor has explained that the song is about "the fragility and breakable nature of some relationships. This was a relationship where I was kind of living day-to-day wondering where it was going, if it was going to go anywhere, if it was going to end the next day." I have grown to like and appreciate this song so much lately.
1: Love Story
This is/was the first song I had ever heard from Taylor going back in time now to its music video release in 2008. The song is basically the tale of Romeo and Juliet but re-imagined with a happy ending and it's also told from the perspective of Juliet. The song and Taylor received great praise by critics and the general population in general and this is what basically got her off the ground and into the famed golden spotlight she struts in today. It was also a commercial success, selling over 8 million copies worldwide, therefore establishing itself among the best-selling singles of all time. It's a sweet song that always pops to mind when Taylor is mentioned I liked her country roots and I would like her to try and do something like that again in future but who knows what will happen but I definitely have a feeling that she'll be back with a new album sometime soon. :)
