Ah after 10,000 years this list is free and up on my blog!
Who is the most evil of all? Have a look at my list and see who my top 10 power ranger villains are!
RULES: ONE VILLAIN PER SERIES! Does not have to be the main big bad of a show either.
10: King Mondo
He drove Rita and Zedd off the moon in his quest to conquer earth with his massive army but obviously he underestimated the power rangers. Mondo soon grew tired of the Rangers, who repeatedly thwarted his plans. The conquest of Earth was made even more difficult when the Gold Ranger arrived and bolstered the Zeo Rangers' ranks, despite repeated efforts by the Machine King to take the Gold Ranger's powers for himself. Mondo finally tired of fooling around and unearthed the ancient Sword of Damocles, intending to personally destroy the rangers. He grew giant and confronted Earth's defenders, but was vanquished by their new Super Zeo Megazord. Mondo did get rebuilt and came back later on in Zeo but he was also then blown up by Zedd & Rita only to be severely damaged and he later met his final end in the final in space episode countdown to destruction. He was not scary at all seemed more like a joke but his army is something quite intimidating to face if i was a ranger. Mondo is notable for being the first main villain in the Power Rangers franchise to be destroyed in direct combat against the Power Rangers, albeit only temporary. He is the only villainous leader from the Zordon-Era to be destroyed in Countdown to Destruction. The others, namely Rita, Zedd and Divatox, were all purified from evil and changed into humans.
9: Zen-Aku
No one knows much of Zen-Aku's origin, only that his Org spirit was locked within an evil Wolf Mask. When Merrick's friend Animus had perished at the hands of the original Master Org, Merrick made the decision that he had to stop their enemy once and for all. Heading into a temple, he'd found the Mask of Zen-Aku, put it on, and used his Predazord to destroy the evil Master once and for all. However, after Master Org was defeated, the Wolf Mask had seized control of Merrick's mind, turning him into (or merging him with) the evil Zen-Aku. While he still had some of his humanity, he implored his fellow Animarian Guardians to kill him, but they refused and instead used their Crystal Sabers to seal him away in an underground coffin. He was only in 8 episode's but he made a lasting impact in my brain when it comes to villains. Zen-Aku has superhuman strength, stamina, resistance, agility and speed that exceeds that of the Wild Force Rangers. Zen-Aku is powerful enough to take on all five of the Rangers in close combat without too much difficulty. His primary attack is the "Crescent Wave", the only special attack of his blade, which was a blade of dark energy that could disable almost any of his opponents. Though he is a formidable opponent, his greatest strength comes out during full moons. Zen-Aku's name means "good-evil" in Japanese. He may or may not have night vision, since his eyes are always glowing and he fights at night with ease. Zen-Aku uses a flute to summon his Wild Zords similar to how Tommy Oliver summons the Dragonzord. Augmented by the fact they had similar roles in their respective seasons as the late addition to the Power Rangers team, beginning as an enemy controlled by the villains, breaking free of their control and joining the Rangers as an ally.
8: Octomus The Master
Octomus is the main antagonist of Mystic Force. He is the true leader of the forces of darkness and Supreme Master of the Underworld. In the series, he is only referred to as "The Master". However, an episode description at the iTunes Video Store for an episode of Power Rangers: Mystic Force lists his name as "Octomus".. Such a creepy evil looking creature he would put fear in the hearts of any man and deserves his place here. Octomus is the true leader of the forces of darkness and Supreme Master of the Underworld. The denizens of the Underworld revere him so much that they refer to him only as "The Master". Octomus is the most feared being in the magical world, and for good reason. He is a sadistic monster of a demon who takes pleasure in torturing his victims mentally and physically. He has shown to be arrogant as he boasted about his power to the Mystic Mother. He is proven to be remorseless as he turned the world into an alternate reality apocalypse without a twinge of regret. He has no sense of humour or even comedy added to him which only makes him more menacing. He was free of cowardice while his arrogance boosted his "belief " that he was the most powerful being on earth. Being the leader of the forces of darkness and the supreme master of the underworld, The Master is one of the strongest and most powerful enemies in Mystic Force, since he possesses much more strength and abilities than Imperious, Koragg, Morticon, Necrolai and all of the Ten Terrors combined. Alongside Queen Bansheera, Lothor and Omni, Octomus is one of the most strongest and the most powerful villains in the entire Power Ranger franchises.
7: Mesogog
Anton Mercer was on the verge of a scientific breakthrough during an experiment involving dinosaur DNA, when he was accidentally transformed into Mesogog, an evil mastermind with plans to revert the earth to the age of dinosaurs and turn the human race into reptilian creatures like himself. Mesogog and Dr. Mercer have distinct personalities, but share the same body in a Jekyll-Hyde relationship. Each is aware of the other's existence, but also dislikes the situation. In his Mesogog form, he is equipped with cybernetic technology and psionic powers that he uses to torture his enemies, or his allies when he is angry at their failures. Dr. Anton Mercer has an adopted son, Trent Fernandez, who became the White Dino Ranger when he accidentally discovered Mesogog's lab while investigating his father's mysterious comings and goings. Mesogog is similar to Mr. Hyde from The Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. Anton Mercer, like Dr. Jekyll, invented a potion which turned him into a monster. Mercer is also similar to Dr. Kurt Connors from Spider-Man, who becomes the Lizard after inventing a potion with lizard DNA to regenerate his lost right arm. As Anton Mercer, his relationship with his son is similar to Norman Osborn, aka the Green Goblin's Relationship with Harry Osborn. His second form i thought is stupid but man is he intimidating when he is just walking round so slowly with his quiet snarly voice. One villain i would not like to run into in a dark alley.
Trakeena was born the daughter of the galactic tyrant Scorpius and an unknown female, though her mother seemed to have been a human as she speaks highly of her human beauty in spite of her insectoid features. Scorpius considered Trakeena to be the evil princess of his alien army and spared no expense to spoil and protect her, but she did not like being treated as a child and would frequently sneak away with her father's generals in efforts to prove herself as a warrior despite his disapproval. Eventually, Trakeena learned that Scorpius wished for her to enter the cocoon and become an insect with great powers like him. Not wanting to lose her mortal beauty the transformation would cause, Trakeena fled to the planet Onyx when he tried to force her. As she wandered into the tavern and found that her prestige did her no good in facing the ruthless patrons, Trakeena met Villamax and his aide Kegler. Villamax offered to train her to be a great warrior and taught her swordplay and martial arts. In time, Trakeena became a truly incredible fighter, and later introduced her newfound strength to the tavern when they tried to give her trouble again. Trakeena was the first humanoid villain to be killed in the series (but only after mutating into her giant monster form). All previous humanoid villains (Rita, Divatox, Astronema etc.) were purified of their evil. Trakeena was incredibly vain and proud. She could teleport like many of Scorpius's servants and wielded a staff that allowed her to fire low-level energy blasts (though it was lost on Onyx). For protection, Trakeena could form armor on her body to cover her completely, though this was rarely used. While initially refusing to enter the cocoon, Trakeena kept it in case she ever needed to use its powers. The first time it was used, she was thrown inside with Deviot, merging with him and gaining portions of his armor but losing her sanity in the process. The second time it was used, she was transformed into a full insectoid creature and reached what is presumed to be the pinnacle of her powers. According to Queen Bansheera, Trakeena's overall power in her insect form surpasses that of a Star Power-enhanced Olympius. After her final battle with the Rangers, Trakeena lost her insect form and powers. While attempting to regain them, using a special machine and the life energy of several kidnapped people, Olympius used a poisoned dagger to corrupt the stored energy and instead she was transformed into a demon-like monster. In this final form, she had enough power to not only cause massive destruction to the city, but was able to overwhelm the Omega Megazord and Galaxy Megazord with relative ease and take their combined finishing moves and only be momentarily stunned. It took the Omega Megazord empowered with the Lights of Orion to finally defeat her. She's the bug that could not stop coming back, each time she did she would be stronger and better than before. Her last form the demon like one is really powerful and is quite a scary enemy to face.
5: Emperor Gruumm
Gruumm is relentless and nothing will stand in his way to conquer the universe. He previously destroyed the planet Sirius (home world of Anubis Cruger), and in 2025 he launched an assault on Earth. He was defeated by Anubis Cruger and captured in front of SPD Headquarters after Omni was destroyed by the S.W.A.T. Megazord. Emperor Gruumm is the fourth final main Power Ranger villain who does not die, instead he is contained and trapped in an SPD card by Cruger. The first is Divatox, the second is Astronema, the third is Ransik and the fifth(possibly) is Venjix. In a May 2014 interview Greg Aronowitz has stated that Gruumm's original concept was intended to be a homage to Sleeping Beauty's Maleficent as a power hungry and deranged villain. The skull and partially exposed brain was due to Aronowitz's fondness for such things, as well as to show that Gruumm was hiding his true nature and was also both intelligent and had a weak point. Gruumm has no Super Sentai counterpart either. He was very much lie Lord Zedd i thought an evil menace who could send shivers down your spine with ease. Not one to get angry but saying that none of these villains you should ever get angry.
4: Diabolico
Diabolico is the devil-like first antagonist of Lightspeed. He was the first demon in the show to be granted the Star Power by Queen Bansheera, and he attacked the Rangers with his army of demons. Despite being a villain, Diabolico cared deeply for his comrades, especially Loki. When he was forced to shoot Loki and destroyed him along with the rangers, he ultimately defected from Queen Bansheera's side and ultimately became a short-lived ally of the rangers. In the season finale, he was able to exact his revenge, helping the rangers destroy Queen Bansheera once and for all. Diabolico was evidently considered to be a good friend by Loki and Vypra as well as they both mourned him when he was killed by the rangers. Even though he lied to Ryan to manipulate him, he did seem to care about Ryan and wanted him to rule by his side when the rangers were destroyed. He even referred to him as Ryan during his their time together. When Ryan solidify his loyalty to the rangers over him, he stopped calling Ryan by his name and simply called him the Titanium Ranger. Diabolico displayed strong spiritual powers, as he was able to appear in a spiritual form even when he was imprisoned and after being destroyed. He could also control the weather and summon energy blasts. In battle he used a skull-themed two-pronged staff with axe-like blades. He has also shown a strange ability where he can detach his right hand and grab onto opponents with it and bring the rest of his body closer to his target. With the Star Power, Diabolico was immensely powerful; one of his energy beams was enough to put a hole through the Super Train Megazord. Even without the Star Power, he was a competent fighter, nearly besting Olympius in their first battle. When turned into his Super Demon form, Diabolico was at his peak in power. In this form he used a jewel-encrusted sword as his weapon. When he combined his powers with those of Olympius, they were enough to destroy nearly all of the Rangers' Megazords, a feat very few villains and monsters are capable of achieving. Diabolico is the first major villain to help the rangers defeat another major villain. The second was Ransik. A very interesting villain having him be compassionate and caring for his fellow demons was something we had not seen before that point as we were use to villains not caring just everyone who was not the main villain was seen as disposable really. He was really evil yet powerful and a interesting menacing character who had good in him.
Watching the first episode of Time Force has me expecting Ransik to be defeated and shrugged off like a "oh he's not the main villain" kinda thing then he went and destroyed the red ranger and i was like "Holy cow! What just happened?!" I could not believe it and at that point i knew Ransik is one hell of a villain and is really powerful. What's scary is Ransik is just a normal human i mean yeah he has mutated but he is still human and he is also a father and compare that to all the villains here on the list Ransik is the most human of them all. Ransik is a former criminal mutant from the year 3000, who traveled back in time to 2001 in order to control Earth before Time Force existed. He possessed abilities such as great strength and durability, energy projection, bone manipulation, teleportation, martial arts, and telekinesis. During his days as a villain, Ransik was self-centered, egocentric, and only focused on his plans for world domination, treating everyone around him except for Nadria like an expendable pawn. His desire to rule the world was second only to his fatherly instincts. When he found out Nadria developed a crush on Lucas, despite being upset about the news at first, he ultimately went with her decision to date him, even visiting Lucas and giving him dating advice, albeit in a twisted and somewhat violent manner. He did however, give Lucas gifts to give to Nadria to help him impress her. In exchange for this, he threatened Lucas if he didn't treat Nadira well he would end him. He also spied on them during the date and reminded Lucas to give her the presents he gave him and later feigned ignorance when Nadira told him about the date so the credit of giving Nadira a wonderful date would go entirely to Lucas. He also even went as far as to forbid his minions from harming Lucas during the brief period they dated. Despite being Ransik's enemy at the time and not fearing Ransik himself, Lucas both feared and respected Ransik's instincts as a father and despite wanting to break up with Nadria he was afraid to out of fear of facing Ransik for doing so. It was because of his fatherly instincts that served as his first step for redemption after nearly killing Nadira with his own hands, having finally seen the error of his ways, he sought redemption just like his daughter did shortly before him. After his change of heart, he referred to the Rangers as his friends and nearly sacrificed himself to stop the Mut-Orgs. Afterwards, he was shown to still dislike Nadira's intentions towards Lucas but seemed more accepting of them. He is one of the few villains ever to not be defeated by the Power Ranger team of their series. During the final fight, he defeats all the rangers singlehandedly. He ultimately chooses to surrender and turn himself in after seeing his hatred almost cost him Nadira. He is also one of the few final power ranger villains that does not die, insteed he turns himself in and also in Power Rangers Wild Force, he reform's. He is the only villain to team-up with his season's rangers rather than teaming up with the villains during the following season's teamup. Along with Astronema and Queen Bansherra, Ransik is one of the few villains that is not comical, making him one of the more threatening and more serious villains in the entire Power Ranger franchise.
2: Psycho Rangers
First time i seen these guys i was like "OMG who the heck are these dudes and my god they are so cool!" The evil princess Astronema created them to draw on the power of her master Dark Specter, and they were designed to hunt down the Power Rangers by tracking their energy, voices, and communicator noises. Each Psycho Ranger had a specific fighting style unbeatable by the Ranger that they were evil versions of (though they were a serious threat to the ranger team even without all of their members). The Psycho Rangers consisted of the Blue, Yellow, Pink, Black, and Red Psycho Rangers, with Psycho Red as their leader. In this way, the Psycho Rangers were used by Astronema not only to defeat the Power Rangers, but also to severely weaken Dark Specter, whom Astronema wished to overthrow. As the storyline unfolded, it was revealed that they also had 'monster forms' as well as their Ranger forms, reverting to their more explicit monster state when their Ranger forms were destroyed. Jesus did they look scary in their monster forms. The Psycho Rangers currently hold the record for the most appearances by a group of evil rangers, as most evil ranger teams created by the main villain rarely last longer than the episode in which they are first introduced. Oddly, when Astronema created the Psycho Rangers, she did not think to make a Psycho Silver. This is possibly due to her subconscious remnants of her affection for Zhane, although the metafictional explanation is the fact that the Sentai Series did not have a counterpart either, though the Psycho Silver costume worn by Zhane was from Sentai. My fave evil rangers hands down.
1: Lord Zedd
Finally here we are the most evil, menacing, powerful villain in my opinion and the best too. The character was the first American-made villain for the Power Rangers series of shows with no origin in the Japanese Sentai shows. Originally depicted as a frighteningly more evil character than Rita, with a dark, gothic atmosphere during his scenes in the Lunar Palace and the dark tone of his theme, complaints from parents resulted in Zedd being toned down immensely, such as his marriage to Rita and reversing the Earth's rotation in an attempt to make the Rangers forget their duties and powers. After this, most of his plans seemed rather hare-brained and wackier than previously, such as creating a monster to induce cravings for junk food or creating a monster that causes friends and romantic couples to hate each other. He and Rita both have a son, Thrax, who appears in Operation Overdrive, during the 15th Anniversary 2-part special, "Once A Ranger", where he is mentioned to have succumbed to good. He later regains his lost powers thanks to interference in the timeline by his past self. Thousands of years ago, Zedd presumably managed to forge his own empire, as he proclaimed to be "Emperor of Evil" in the series proper. He enslaved multiple other evil beings, such as Goldar and Rita Repulsa. Because he did not think Earth was important enough to warrant his attention, he had left Rita Repulsa to conquer it while he pursued the conquest of other systems. It is mentioned by Rita Repulsa that Zedd also tried to take the Zeo Crystal for himself in the ancient past. But because the Crystal was protected by a forcefield which damages the forces of evil, the attempt caused his skin to burn off, which gave him the flayed and grotesque appearance he is known for. Due to the mocking tone Rita told this, it is not known if she was joking or if this fact is real. This theory gets confirmed by Goldar and his brother Silverback in the comic Mighty Morphin Power Rangers Annual #1 (2016). Lord Zedd had taken the Zeo Crystal some time before, but after it had damaged his skin, Zedd would disappear from battlefields and wear a cloak to shield his appearance. When he was turned good by Zordon's Energy Wave, his evil personality traits were mostly purged; his love for Rita was enough for Zordon's energy to turn him into a human being. However Zedd's hunger for power remained, as shown in Super Legends he missed his former power and travelled back in time to witness his former self, which led to him becoming evil again. Whether this is canon can be debated, since the events of the game aren't shown during the TV series. Zedd loves Halloween, but despises Christmas. It is often assumed by fans that Thrax was conceived during Zedd and Rita's time away during Power Rangers Turbo. Zedd was the first Power Ranger villain to be a Power Rangers Exclusive. He is the only non humanoid villain shown to become good in Countdown to Destruction. If one treats Power Rangers Super Legends as canon, Zedd is also the only villain purified by the Z Wave to return to being evil. It is also shown that Zedd has a rivalry with Count Dregon, however the two never are seen face-to-face. (He later seems oblivious to the fact Dregon follow the Rangers back to Earth.) In the game Super Legends, it is revealed that Zedd became an archaeologist after being purified with Zordon's wave. I wish and wonder what would Zedd have been like if perants did not complain to saban to make zedd more pg.
Right oh, that's it for today's evil list in the morphin grid of my blog page.
