Top 10 WWE Champions

Here it is my final top 10 WWE champions list. I used to love the attitude title but then after that went the titles value in my eyes diminished and went on to be paraded as a children's toy which can spin although cool as it was you cant take a champion seriously with it. However the title has been kinda deactivated since the brand split and we now have Universal Championship title belt on RAW which i consider is the new WWE title but anyway, let's get into my top 10!

10) Cm Punk

The straight edge superstar held onto the wwe title for 434 days straight marking the longest modern reign of the title and he made the title relevant again and he was highly electrifying like another superstar on this list and the fact he is not in WWE anymore and fans still chant for Punk is something special, no one else in my mind has had this power of the WWE fans certainly in the modern era. Punk made the title matter and proved he is the best in the world but he's not number 1 on this list sadly but it does not take away the fact he is on my list and he is one of the greats. 

9) Bruno Sanmartino

The living legend himself amassed a total of  4,040 days as champion over the course of his 2 title reigns. Longest reigning champ in history. For that the Hall Of Famer is a legend and deserves to be on any list regarding the wwe title regardless of if you have seen him in action or not. 

8) Kurt Angle

This entry is gold and not just for winning the wwf title or wwe undisputed title but for winning an olympic gold medal with a broken freakin neck! 4 reigns and 300 days as champ Kurt is on this list for all this and for his amazing wrestling in ring style, he is a great technician of the squared circle and for all this and then some he is here at 8. 

7) Brock Lesner

THE BEAST BRRRRRRRROCK LEEEEEEEEEEESNEEEER! Alright this guy annoys me and angers me and all i have to say about him is negative but god damn it he is a tough s.o.b and i won't deny he deserves a place on any wwe championship list even if he is an annoying part timer who gets everything given to him for doing half the work most of the roster in wwe today does. 4 reigns and 579 days combined and is as of writing the universal champion currently and maybe he will be SD live's champion too if this Mahal v Lesner rumours are anything to go by.

6) Stone Cold Steve Austin

*GLASS SHATTERS* It's the rattlesnake himself! STONE COLD, STONE COLD! Yes at number 6 comes this tough no nonsense s.o.b. with 6 reigns and 530 combined days he has held the title this man is one of many we have to thank wwe for, if it was not for any star of wwf attitude era wwe would have been vanquished long ago. Austin is highly entertaining on the mic and in the ring and his career proves why he is on my list and why he has gone down as one of the best in wrestling history. 

5) Hulk Hogan

WHAT-CHA GONNA GO WHEN HULK HOGAN AND THE TWENTY THOUSAND HULK-A-MANIACS RUN WILD ON YOU BROTHER!? Well you are probably gonna be like woah it's the Hulkster at number 5 in this list, that's odd? Maybe its odd to some and to others its not but hey the Hulkster is a pop culture icon and has done a lot for wrestling to get it mainstream and to get more fans for the business and the Hulkster is one of the first wrestlers who went into the film industry and made a mark there also. Although Hulk's style to the wrestling audience of today is outdated and boring back in the day its what captivated fans and got the Hulkster to his fame and his 6 title reigns with combined days of 2,185!

4) The Rock

IF YA SA-MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEL-LALALALALAL-AH! WHAT THE ROCK IS COOKIN! To this day i'm not really sure what he is cooking but i bet it's pies as The Rock certainly loves his pies and he also loves kicking some jabroni candy asses! The Rock also loves the millions and millions of Rock fans and his electrifying attitude is what got him to hollywood and to his 378 days reigned as an 8 time wwe champion! The man is a gold star! Now The Rock want's to know what you think of him so please tell me.......IT DOES'NT MATTER WHAT YOU THINK! The Rock is on this list and The Rock is one of the greats!

3) HHH

TIME TO PLAY THE GAME! At number 3 stands the COO and the headrunner of NXT and the cerebral assassin, the king of kings, the game, TRIPLEEEEE H! With 9 title reigns of this title and combined days held at 610 there is a reason why he is on her and why he is called The Game. HHH's career has been a very special one, it started with him being the pureblood newbie who came in all posh and dapper he liked to work out and gave wrestling a go and he was a rising terror (you like that reference?) til one day he and his friends shared a hug at the end of the show which then pushed him back to the bottom (it's stupid i know) but then he came back and dominated with his own team DX and took the world by storm and invaded WCW on a tank and his popularity went up and up and the titles were piling in and so then friendships went south he went on his own, married the boss's daughter and rose further and further up the ladder and to where he is now a king of the mountain in the wwe. 2) Randy Orton

The Viper has slithered past all the others to get to here why? He is a 9 time champ with 660 days held combined as champ. Randy's voices in his head seem to be saying win titles and feud with Cena because it's all he has done in WWE mainly and i don't say it as a bad thing all Randy does has been good, he's a second generation superstar and he deserves his popularity and to be here on this list!

1) John Cena

THE CHAMP IS HERE! Yep at number one comes the guy who has been WWE champion for a large majority of my life and of the time i have watched wrestling none other than John Cena! He has held the wwe title 13 times and for a combined 1,257 days! Say what you want about him but the man deserves respect and you know i used to be a big fan of Cena back in the day i'm not so much now but i still respect the guy.

And that my metallic nation is the end of my championship reign in wwe top 10 champions.

Top 10 WWE Intercontinental Champions

What's up everyone? Back again for more i see? Well the wrestling month continues. You may notice i don't post on the weekends this month. Why? It's so i can have a break is all and you all can catch up if you missed anything :) 

Let's get back to the wrasslin now with a list of the top 10 WWE intercontinental champions! 

10) Pat Patterson

I have only ever seen Pat as one of the stooges or in his hof induction or during anytime he has appeared over the past 20 years in WWE. I never seen the guy wrestle but he is the first intercontinental champion and for that he has to be on my list. 

9) Stone Cold Steve Austin

What can i say about this legend? He won the title first with a broken fricken neck! A two-time Intercontinental Champion, Austin's first title win came at SummerSlam 1997 where a piledriver snapped his neck. Rather than quit, The Bionic Redneck managed to summon the strength to roll up Owen Hart for the victory. This devastating injury caused Austin to vacate the title, but the WWE Hall of Famer would make an amazing return to the ring to capture the championship again that very same year. Expect Austin to feature in more lists down the line...

8) Jeff Hardy

Alright Jeff is one of my all time faves and he is normally the first person who comes to my mind when talking about the IC title. Although he wasn't the biggest man in the WWE locker room, Jeff Hardy was never the kind of Superstar who would back down from a fight. So it should come as no surprise that The Charismatic Enigma defeated dominant competitors like Triple H and Umaga on his way to winning an impressive four Intercontinental Championships. Due to his high-risk style, the majority of Hardy's reigns were brief, but his title matches were always exciting.

7) RVD

RVD is another fave of mine (there are many faves on mine on these lists i do of course). Rob Van Dam's six reigns as Intercontinental Champion are impressive enough, but consider what RVD accomplished with the title and his runs are even more remarkable. In 2002, Mr. Monday Night defeated European Champion Jeff Hardy and Hardcore Champion Tommy Dreamer to unify those two titles with the Intercontinental Championship and bring an even greater legacy to the title. On top of that, his wild Ladder Matches against Eddie Guerrero and Christian were some of the genre’s best. At a time when WWE was inundated with flashy new titles, Van Dam made sure that the Intercontinental Championship — much like himself — remained one of a kind. 

6) HHH

There's more than one reason as to why he is called THE GAME. A five-time champion over the span of a decade, The Game first grabbed the title in 1996 when he was relatively new to the ring. By the time he was the most dominant man in WWE, Triple H reclaimed the Intercontinental Championship in memorable battles with Jeff Hardy and Kane and even defeated The Devil’s Favorite Demon at No Mercy in 2002 to unify Kane's Intercontinental Championship with the World Heavyweight Championship. 

5) The Rock

Just like Triple H, Rocky captured the title when he was new to the scene but this was a clear indicator of a star in the making. He may have been champion, but his nauseating perkiness caused the WWE Universe to chant, "Die, Rocky, die!" which all built up to a change in Rocky Mavia to become....The Rock. An arrogant, eyebrow-raising villain with a bad attitude and a $500 shirt. With this newfound edge, The People's Champion had a second Intercontinental Championship run that lasted for an impressive 265 days and helped establish his reputation as The Most Electrifying Man in All of Entertainment.

4) Shawn Michaels 

The IC title is where HBK first made a name for himself let's be honest. A "Showstopper" even then, HBK's classic Ladder Matches against Razor Ramon are considered some of the best bouts of their era, and his battles against Jeff Jarrett, Diesel and Bret "Hit Man" Hart were just as good. Too often, Michaels' reigns ended in controversy, but his days as Intercontinental Champion were always exhilarating.

3) The Miz

As of writing he is still the IC Champ and his reigns have been damn fine. His talking smack rant was and still is amazing. He makes the title matter again and he is on his seventh reign.

2) The Honky Tonk Man

The man with the longest reign as IC Champ is the one and only Honky Tonk Man at a staggering 454 days! Defeating Ricky Steamboat for the championship in 1987, Honky Tonk Man kept his guitar-strumming fingers on the title for more than a year by any means necessary, including but not limited to getting counted out or disqualified on purpose. It may not have been the noblest reign of all time, but it earned the rock 'n' roller his place in WWE history.

1) Chris Jericho

Quality matches and a quality champion of nine times. No Superstar even comes close to Chris Jericho's record-setting number of Intercontinental Title reigns. First winning the championship from Chyna in winter 1999, Jericho went on to defeat everyone from Jeff Hardy to Rob Van Dam to capture a staggering nine titles over the next decade.

Top 10 WWE European Champions

Hello again fellow men and women of good ol Europe or where ever it is you are from reading this today, celebrating the good ol European championship title belt from WWF. Here is another list suggested to me by James Davie.

10) Al Snow

For those who don't know, after Al Snow won the European Championship in 2000, he started having a different entrance music/routine based around stereotypes of European countries, complete with ridiculous outfits for both himself and Head. He was only champ for a month until William Regal took it off of him. It was easily some of the goofiest, funniest stuff we ever got out of the Attitude Era and for that alone is why he is here at number 10 on my list i remember those times well so fun.

9) Kurt Angle

1x champion (54-day reign) The European Championship was used as a way to officially launch WWE's push of Kurt Angle in February 2000, when he defeated Val Venis on an episode of Smackdown to win his first piece of solo gold in the company. A few weeks later, Angle defeated Chris Jericho for the Intercontinental strap at the No Way Out pay-per-view, making the former Olympian one of WWE's few illustrious Eurocontinental Champions. The stint as champion marked Angle's only reign with the Euro belt, but the title more than served its purpose since Kurt was rocketed up WWE's card shortly thereafter.

8) Matt Hardy

1x champion (125-day reign) In April 2001, brothers and tag team partners Jeff and Matt Hardy both won individual championships, with Jeff winning the Intercontinental title and Matt, a few weeks later, grabbing the Euro strap. Matt's 125-day stint as European Champion would end up being the second longest individual reign in company history, and the longest reign for an American born wrestler. Matt also won the title in epic fashion, getting an assist from his then-real life girlfriend Lita and pinning Eddie Guerrero on an April 26, 2001 episode of Smackdown. By the time he dropped the European Championship to The Hurricane on the August 27, 2001 edition of Raw, Hardy had turned heel and began his entertaining run as Matt Hardy V1. Matt would later go on to have higher profile feuds but his initial success as a solo wrestler can be traced back to his Euro title days.

7) HBK

1x champion (82-day reign) The Heartbreak Kid Shawn Michaels was already on his way to being among the greatest WWE superstars of all time when he defeated the inaugural European Champion, British Bulldog (Davey Boy Smith) in Birmingham, England, in the main event at the One Night Only pay-per-view (only airing in Canada and Europe) on September 20, 1997. Michaels victory was a controversial one both at the event and in real life. The Birmingham crowd nearly revolted when Michaels won, littering the ring with garbage. Michaels rarely defended the championship, as the belt, still in its infancy at that point, was mostly used by him as a prop. When he was finally ordered to defend it by WWE Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter, he intentionally laid down for his buddy Triple H. Michaels European reign certainly wasn't glorious, but it was significant in many ways. Michaels reign as European Champion made him WWEs first-ever Grand Slam Champion (having previously won the WWE World Championship, World Tag Team Championship and Intercontinental Championship) and also demonstrated The Heartbreak Kid as the peak of his backstage political powers.

6) X-Pac

2x champion (134-day combined reign) Sean X-Pac Waltman kicked off his epic return to the WWE in 1998 by joining the D-Generation X stable alongside his long-time real life buddy, Triple H. As a part of DX, X-Pac was consistently in the upper mid-card portion of WWEs roster, but without a solo championship to call his own until he defeated D'Lo Brown for the European strap on the September 21, 1998 episode of Raw. Unfortunately, X-Pac had the indignity being the first WWE superstar to lose a title to a McMahon, when he was pinned by Shane McMahon in a tag team match that pitted X-Pac and Triple H against Shane and Kane, airing on the February 15, 1999 episode of Raw. Per the stipulations of the match, if Kane or Shane pinned X-Pac, they would win the championship. X-Pac lost the title thanks to some shenanigans involving his presumed allies.

5) Eddie Guerrero

2x champion (134-day combined reign) Eddie Guerreros initial 111-day reign as European Champion went a long way in establishing his character and making him a top performer in the WWE during the early/mid-2000s. After coming in with much fanfare as one of four WCW defects dubbed The Radicals, he won his first championship from Chris Jericho on an April 3, 2000 episode of Raw, with the help of Chyna. The budding romance between the two sparked the beginning of the Latino Heat gimmick for the character, which featured such standout moments as Guerrero defending the strap against Essa Rios wearing a bowtie and tuxedo pants at the 2000 Backlash pay-per-view event. And after the title had been devalued to some extent by a succession of short reigns, Guerrero established the European Championship as a valuable commodity in the WWE. 

4) Triple H

2x champion (160-day combined reign) Going back to a time when secondary titles were not beneath a wrestler as great as Triple H, he won the European Championship on a December 1997 edition of Raw when his D-Generation X teammate Shawn Michaels was "forced" into defending the Euro strap against Helmsley by Commissioner Sgt. Slaughter. Michaels intentionally laid down for his buddy, officially making the moment Triple H's very first taste of solo gold in the WWE. Triple H's reign as European Championship was used to fan the flames of what was left of the DX/Hart Foundation feud. With Bret Hart defecting to WCW, Triple H faced off with Owen Hart on multiple occasions for the title. In one bizarre instance, Triple H lost the championship to Owen without being involved in the match when on an January 26, episode of Raw, Goldust dressed up as Hunter and was pinned by Owen. Commissioner Slaughter ruled that Goldust was a viable stand-in for Triple H and the victory stood for Owen. Triple H defeated Owen two months later on a March 17 episode of Raw, kicking off a 120-day reign with the belt.

3) D-Lo Brown

4x champion (140-day combined reign) What Ric Flair was to the big gold belt, D'Lo Brown was to the European Championship. After defeating Triple H for the title on the July 20, 1998 episode of Raw (further advancing the long-running rivalry between D'Lo's Nation of Domination stable and Hunters D-Generation X), Brown kicked off the first of four reigns as European Champion, tied for the most in WWE history. He never had a single reign that lasted longer than 64 days, but Brown brought a certain level of credibility to the title and made it an integral part of WWEs mid-card during the late 90s. During his stints as champion, Brown would be introduced as hailing from different parts of Europe, making him the first WWE superstar to adopt that gimmick (it was later used to weirder effect by Al Snow during his reign in 2000). After defeating Mideon at the Fully Loaded pay-per-view event in July 1999, Brown became WWEs first ever Eurocontinental champion, meaning he held both European and Intercontinental titles. Brown was the first to accomplish so many things with the European Championship, its difficult not to place him near the top of this list.

2) William Regal

4x champion (179-day combined reign) William Regal, one of the few European champions to actually hail from Europe (England), used the strap as a prop to establish himself as a very solid mid-carder in the early 2000s. Hes tied with D'Lo Brown for having the most reigns as champion (four), and his 179-day combined reign is the second longest in company history. He won his first Euro Championship (and first WWE singles title) on the October 16, 2000 episode of Raw by beating Al Snow clean as a sheet with the Regal Stretch. Regal was one of the higher profile superstars to hold the title during its dying days. He eventually used his face time as champ to get over enough to be a consistent contender for the Intercontinental title.

1) British Bulldog

2x champion (253-day combined reign) Davey Boy Smith, aka, the British Bulldog, was WWEs original European Champion, being awarded the strap after pinning Owen Hart during the companys inaugural tournament during a taping of Raw in Germany in February, 1997. The Bulldog went on to have the longest single reign as champion, holding the belt for 206 days before backstage politics struck. He did however defeat D'Lo Brown for his second European Championship on the October 26, 1999 episode of Smackdown. He lost the belt about a month later to Val Venis at the December 1999 Armageddon PPV. Smith suffered from a painkiller addiction and was admitted into rehab in 2000 before being released by the WWE shortly thereafter. He died from a heart attack in May 2002, tragically ending one of the greatest wrestling careers from the past 30 years. Smith achieved every major title in the WWE besides either "World" championships. In terms of the European Championship, he has the longest individual and combined-reigns in WWE history. He was a fighting champion who made the title mean something. He's perhaps the greatest European Champion of all-time.

Top 10 WWE Hardcore Champions

10) Mankind

Although enjoying only a solitary short reign as Hardcore Champion, Mick Foley still plays a crucial part in the belt's history. The belt was created for Mankind by Vince McMahon, making him the inaugural champion and solidifying the pseudo father-son relationship between the two. Unfortunately fans didn't get to witness the mayhem one would expect upon hearing the words "Mick Foley Hardcore Champion", as his reign lasted less than a month before a ladder match loss to the Big Boss Man. 

9) The Undertaker

He made the title look legit and his reign was mostly entertaining squash matches against other guys but it was a shame when he was dethroned later by the likes of Maven.

8) Shane O'Mac

Like Foley, Shane enjoyed only one Hardcore Championship reign - as well as the dubious honour of being the only non-wrestler on this list. He fully deserves his place, however, for the utterly insane heights he was willing to scale (often literally) to create an exciting spectacle. The most memorable moment of his reign (and arguably his entire career) came at Summerslam 2000 when, defending against Steve Blackman, he scaled the TitanTron in order to escape his far more capable foe. The challenger climbed right up with him and smacked him with a kendo stick, sending the owner's son collapsing backwards to a crash-landing from a ridiculous height.

7) Big Boss Man

Although far from the most spectacular Hardcore Champion in history, the late Big Boss Man deserves recognition for his dedication and consistency in the division's early days. He owns the record for longest title reign: 97 days, a huge amount of time considering the speed with which the strap would sometimes change hands (often multiple times in the same show). 

6) Jeff Hardy

Jeff Hardy brought a new level of prestige to the Hardcore title with his daredevil behaviour. He and brother Matt enjoyed a wild brawl for the belt on an episode of Smackdown, before an interfering Crash Holly ran in to steal the pinfall in typically chaotic fashion. Hardy's biggest contribution to the legacy of the belt, however, came in a match with Rob Van Dam at Summerslam 2001. The ladder match is generally regarded as the best Hardcore Championship bout in WWE history - not that there are a great number of worthy contenders - as well as one of the best matches of the entire Invasion angle. The pair absolutely tore into one another, both men taking a number of nasty bumps in the process. Jeff's final fall from the ladder sent him tumbling feet-first into the ropes, an admittedly horrible looking fall, but one which summed up the insanity of the Hardcore division as a whole.

5) RVD

Three of RVD's four Hardcore Championship reigns came at the title's peak; the Invasion angle saw every belt in the company as a key possession in the war between the two promotions. This led to the previously mentioned Summerslam 2001 encounter, which unquestionably did wonders for Van Dam's popularity. Just as he can be regarded as one of the few beneficiaries of the Invasion angle, so too can the Hardcore belt be seen as something which actually had its prestige boosted by the largely disappointing storyline. Rob also has the distinction of being the last ever champ, defeating Tommy Dreamer on a 2002 edition of Raw to unify both the Hardcore and Intercontinental belts. It's fitting that the last ever match of the championship's history was between two former-ECW stars, especially as many regard the Philadelphia promotion responsible for inspiring the extreme nature of the Attitude Era as a whole. The bout was fittingly hard-hitting, but also demonstrated a great deal of respect between the pair, who shared a tearful hug following RVD's eventual victory.

4) Al Snow

First of all, raise your hand if you were too young to get the “Head” joke at the time.  How on earth did my parents let me watch this? Here he is, Big Boss Man’s opponent in the Kennel From Hell match.  Unlike Boss Man, Snow was much more of an easy fit for the hardcore division.  Hardcore wrestling occasionally works when a more straight-laced wrestler like Boss Man comes in and starts succeeding almost out of spite, but more often than not, you need a borderline crazy person like Al Snow.  He was not the slightest bit afraid to get weird with it, and that was the charm.  Also, this was about as creepy as mannequins got until Condemned: Criminal Origins came out.

3) Crash Holly

For all the weapon-swinging maniacs and muscle-bound big men who made the Hardcore division so violent, Crash Holly was responsible for providing championship with a vital second ingredient: comedy. Crash held the belt at various points over the 24/7-rule period (in which the title could be won or lost at any place or time), and completely went to town with the idea. From losing the belt while asleep to brawling with Mosh and Thrasher in a children's ball pit, Holly provided some of the most memorable entertaining moments in the history of the championship.

2) Raven

It's no surprise that Raven established a cult following during his time in the WWF, especially given his legendary status in ECW. The man embodied hardcore. He unquestionably added a great deal to the division during his record 27 reigns, especially in encounters with regular foes Al Snow, Rhyno, Crash Holly, and the next man on this list. The most important quality Raven brought to Hardcore title matches was variety. He threw out the long-established reliance upon chairs and tables, instead bringing an entire shopping cart of assorted weapons down to the ring for his bouts. Nothing was off limits for the brooding extremist, from singapore canes to fire extinguishers. While nobody tuned into a Raven championship match expecting a classic, entertainment was usually always guaranteed.

1) Steve Blackman

Steve Blackman probably owes as much to the Hardcore Championship as it owes to him. He spent more time with the belt than anyone else (an unthinkable 172 days across six reigns) and brought more to the division than anyone else. Combining the innovation of Raven - thanks to his assorted martial arts weapons and unique style - with the menace of Boss Man, Blackman has left an imprint upon the belt like no other. Fans loved his brutal deconstructions of opponents, going to work with lightning-fast strikes and painful shots with any weapon that took his fancy. He had the unique ability to look like a master of anything he wielded, leading to matches often resembling Hollywood action sequences as opposed to professional wrestling bouts. It's interesting to consider where Blackman would be without the Hardcore Championship. While never enjoying the most star-studded or long-term career, he will forever be beloved by many as the archetypal hardcore wrestler, the living embodiment of the WWE's particular brand of extreme action. A midcard popularity for which he is remembered to this day.
